Unconfirmed features (NOT characters) desired in Brawl

1. C-stick usable in single player. As cool as the new co-op storyline looks, unless I can use c-stick or some other method to DI forwards and bair, single player mode will be frustrating. Plus it makes "training mode" retardly useless for practicing aerials.

2. The continued production of official gamecube controllers. It's confirmed that GC controllers will work in Brawl so why stop production altogther? Wiimote control scheme is a joke, and the "classic" controller is much more uncomfortable than a GC controller. Maybe a 3rd party will step up and make quality GC controllers, but I doubt it.

3. Characters don't get turned around when they are hit. It's annoying trying to setup for a bair, or some other move that requires my back to be facing them, get tapped and then my character automatically turns to face them.

4. Up as jump disabled, it's just stupid having 3 buttons do the same thing and I never use it intentionally. I know some people like it so allow people who want it to keep it.

5. Seperate functions for X and Y. We don't need two buttons right next to each other doing the exact same thing. Personally I'd love one of those to shorthop and the other to fulljump.

What do you want?

I think this thread is original enough to merit leaving open, as its about actual features, not updates.

Although, depending on how similar the discussion is, it may be locked in the future.

Having a Marco being in place of the X or Y button.

Set the Marco to do anything from doing the shorthop or from doing a smash. Preferably we dont make these auto charachters so limit the amount of time these marcos can be used.

I agree with what everything you said, but I'd prefer that one of the former jump buttons had a function that's not related to jumping.

I really hope they give you the option to disable jumping with the control stick. I rarely use up tilts at all because I always end up accidentally jumping.

Ryzol, I like features one and two a lot. I'm not so sure about three (I don't have strong feelings either way), and I definitely hope that X and Y are customizable enough to allow one of them to be short hop. I don't like five at all. It might be OK as an option, but the fact that up is jump, along with the physics engine, allows you to usmash out of a shield or dash. You have few enough options in those, so I don't want to take more away.

If you could usmash out of a shield anyway, then I would be fine with it.

Playing without the c-stick is more skillful in my oppinion, and I would much rather play without it.

Less time based unlockables!

I like having time based as an option for the less skilled players, but I also want vigorous challenges that make me work for my character. Maybe even learn a character in the process.

C-Stick camera is already in the Training Mode; I think it's going to be ****-blocking everybody in the single player modes as well. :( Even still, I'm hoping the C-Stick isn't a useless camera that has no conventional use in single player.

Wisconsin...yay that place no one has ever heard o
Most unlikly thing ever:

If you have ever played Metroid Prime: Hunters on Wi-fi, then you should know this:

When you died you had 7 or so seconds to move the camera aroudn to look at other players on stuff, I think it would be awesome to have a DS link-up to do that, reconrd different angles and stuff as to not distract from normal gameplay like Camera Mode did in Melee

Definately the ability to use the C-Stick in One Player. Also a way to cancel out the 'up to jump' controls.

Other than that not to many other features.

As for Game modes, the return of 'Board the Platforms'

Don't really care about 1, but 2 and 3 are really good ideas; board the platforms was one of my favorites in 64. Also, it would be awesome to relive an incredible combo from 98767 different angles, show off to your buds and stuff...

Those are some great ideas. Although, customization would be good here, too. I prefer X, so I would want Y to be short jump.

3. Board the Platforms
That too.

I definitely like your idea about being able to disable Up being jump, it seems like an excellent solution to accidental jumps. I think what you said about X and Y being small jump and big jump may be taking it a little far though, it seems like it could be a bit too much like cheating. Maybe one could be jump and the other grab? Z was never a good button for it.

Like most other people I want proper costume changes (looking increasingly unlikely, though).

I would also like it if individual characters still had their own unique levels in Target Test. Although having more than one to complete sounds fun, I liked how you could work out which individual moves were best for each target before (Mario throwing a Fireball through a tiny crack, for example, or a target on either side of DK which could both be hit with his down Smash). Maybe character-specific levels for Race to the Finish and other Stadium modes, too.

I was expecting I'd be able to come up with more ideas than that but I honestly can't. I'm taking that as a good sign about how the game is shaping up so far.

*Ability to turn off explodable containers.
*More customisation for Special Brawl modes (make one character giant, metal, etc, instead of all characters)

If nowhere else, you can get them from the online store: http://store.nintendo.com/ They even still sell N64 controllers. No Wavebirds though.

Some way for the DS to work along with the game, maybe some way to affect the picto chat stage?

Great call with #4. As for 5, you can do something like that too, I bet.

Nice call. I was hoping for that feature myself. This opens a lot of combinations, and it would seem that if you use the nunchuck you can smash like you would with the c-stick, probably in single player too.

Its a MONTAGE!!!!
I actually didnt mind the jump with the stick, its actually the jump i eventually got accustomed to using to avoid miss jumps but that took away the up attack so im looking forward to being able remove the jump with the stick... this was a great thing to do.

Some Fox players may actually want to keep the up as a jump. Iirc, in order to jump cancel the shine, you have to have B held down as you hit jump, and it would be much easier to press with your left hand, then with your right.
