You guys really need to work on your interpretation skills because I don't know how you took that out of my post.

Maybe you need to work on your analogies.

"You sound like a **** if you complain about your chair being burned while a house is burning down." sounds like "Men complaining about getting sexually harassed shouldn't complain while there are women being sexually harassed."

My analogy is better, because in both cases, people are losing their homes, but one is a bigger problem than the other, it's a more direct parallel.

All the Budokai music has legal trouble (except maybe the main themes), because Kenji Yamamoto (the Toei one, not the Nintendo one) did a lot of plagiarism.

Your analogy implies one home is inherently a bigger deal. The issue is the fire, not what's being burned down.
Person A: "I need help, my house is on fire!"
Person B: "Well yeah, my chair is burning, they're problems of equal sizes"

Regardless, the analogy is not the focus here. I'm speaking this as a cis man, I never had to worry about getting sexually harassed in my life. It never truly hit me until I talked to some of my friends about this. This isn't just being worried about being robbed or murdered in an empty street at night, it's constantly worrying and never really being able to feel safe around men. Men don't go through that. Men don't have to worry about every women they see on the street harassing them. That's where the issue lies. When it happens, yeah, it happens, but the probability of one happening over the other is MUCH bigger and that's a constant fear that doesn't go away.

Yet, people still bought it.

Including myself. I will admit, I was wrong, and the words of Sakurai > Leaks.

Imo, the only reason it gained traction, was because it featured the holy trinity of fan requested characters, being Isaac, Geno, and Banjo....

If none of them were on there, most people would have ignored it.

Your analogy is bad, because Sexual Harassment is a crime, no matter who the perpetrator is or who the victim is.

Unless it's a throne or something, a chair has no value, it's unimportant. This is what your analogy implies.

You're right that it's wrong that many women live in fear of being sexually harassed (or worse) by men, but that's not relevant to the argument I'm making.

Getting violated in that way can ruin your life; it doesn't matter who you are, to the person being harassed, it is important.

I always thought Elma would be neat. Her character design is rad, and we don't have a dual-wielder in Smash yet (without items) besides Bayo with her guns.

Also, Elma has robots and robots are cool.

That makes sense. The only reason I ever bought into it was for Isaac and Shadow, both who got assisted, so I was slightly bummed, but I bounced back with Piranha Plant, an addition that I liked from the start.

Yeah I agree that we should've put more stock into what Sakurai said about not too many more characters. but without Hindsight looking at it without the knowledge we know now it looked very real, in hindsight though absolutely it should've been obvious but with the coincidences surrounding it didn't help at all.

Yeah I agree that we should've put more stock into what Sakurai said about not too many more characters. but without Hindsight looking at it without the knowledge we know now it looked very real, in hindsight though absolutely it should've been obvious but with the coincidences surrounding it didn't help at all.

I think the problem is that Sakurai has been known to use "Don't expect too many characters" as a smokescreen for the real roster size.

It was a Boy Who Cried Wolf situation.

All good choices though, honestly ngl I would kill for XC to become the new FE. I feel the characters are/will continue to be unique enough for complaints to fade. I mean you don't really hear the "generic anime swordsman" argument used against Elma or Rex/Pyra.
