To be fair third party characters tend to be significantly more loyal to their games than most characters.
I mean, at least with those two having PK Starstorm, there is actually an explanation given to how they know how to use it. In the description of the PK Starstorm trophies Brawl, it suggests that Poo taught Ness PK Starstorm before the events of that game, and Kumatora did the same for Lucas. Heck, in Ultimate, now Poo and Kumatora even appear when Ness and Lucas use their final smash respectively.

Among other things I just don't buy only people who purchased Joker getting a free echo fighter: that'd make one of the purchasable fighters be objectively more value for money than the others. Yeah, not all five fighters are guaranteed the same amount of content - see Cloud's paltry music selection in Smash 4. But having one of the fighter packs be 2 for the price of one is a waaaayy better deal than the others
atlus giving extra things away for free is the most unrealistic part of it all
True, but Joker has already a made-up mechanic and three spells Arsene can't naturally learn. Agidyne wouldn't be a big stretch.
If this leak was true, I would wonder why Baboom was chosen to have the rhythm play style over Chorus Kids. Interesting conflict with the online bit though, that may have took a large part of Chorus Kids' exclusion long ago. Still, I find this highly unlikely because of the last choice.
It's a hypothetical final evolution for Grookey, that's supposed to be some sort of musician, probably using drums of some kind, due to Grookey's excessive use of it's stick
Yeah, as you've all said, I don't know why they'd pick him of all characters to be the one with a rhythm based moveset, over someone from for instance, the Rhythm Heaven series.

i will say it'd be a pretty damn good spread of first parties (fire emblem, pokemon) and third parties with solid nintendo history (DQ, ace attorney)
