I'm like the epitome of the "white people don't season their food" stereotype tbh.
How? How do people just eat flavorless foods? Like seriously, I've been to so many white households and the food just tastes like nothing.
****ing Karen will make a whole turkey and rub one basil leaf on it and be like "yeah the flavors gonna come in from this" like no the **** it isn't

I know this seems like preaching to the choir since we’re on a smash forum, but man do I love playing Smash. After taking a break for about a month, I played a bunch online yesterday and had a blast! No other game gets my heart racing; even if I lose I want to immediately play again. Wish I knew where to find local smash meet ups.

I just really feel like gushing, Ultimate is probably my favorite game to play of all time, I’m so glad Smash bros. Is such a fun game in addition to being an amazing crossover.

If you make chicken and mac and cheese, they better be seasoned to hell and back because oooooh yall need to learn to season your food
You gotta use more then just salt and pepper

I'm so white I'll literally eat white bread with nothing on it but unseasoned turkey is flavorless as hell and basil is just terrible

But I mean it's Karen so I guess that's par for the course

[BLEEP]ing Karen

I've been wasting away watching almost nothing but videos ripping into metaphorical Karens recently help me

It's probably a psychological thing for me. I was fairly poor growing up so anything "extra" like seasoning and whatnot always felt kinda wasteful and unnecessary. Like, no one even instilled that in me, I'd just often forgo anything that wasn't "needed" when eating out of choice.

Like even through college there was a weird sense of guilt involved. "I could spend the literal two dollars needed to buy some more salt, but do I need salt?" Meanwhile my brother seasons literally everything so I don't even know what happened lol.

Like I live in Louisiana where everything we sell anywhere is seasoned, not to mention I've been working in the food industry since I was 15, so I know how to cook pretty well. Honestly, seeing people not cook right is one of my pet peeves. It's something that's hard for me to watch. It's like watching a Mega Man playthrough where someone is using a different boss order than the one I use, I just can't watch it happen.

first rule of getting the best 'cultural' food isn't even to go to a restaurant, it's to go to the dingiest, most run-down place you can kind, like a 20 year old truck in the corner of a parking lot

that place is gonna sell the best ****ing food you've ever had

Oh cool. I live in Indiana.

Food doesn't have flavor here.

You go to a restaurant serving local "cuisine" and it tastes like wood.

I mean could be worse though. At least the people here are theoretically trying. One time I was at some roadside restaurant in rural Kentucky on a family trip to Florida and my mother ordered. . .I dunno, a chicken salad? Thing came to the table with cut up deli slices in it.

Boy you also came out a clunky, unintuitive gross looking mess.

Note for Smashboards staff, this is just a playful jab. I don't even think I should point that out with the ****ing Lego Yoda Death Sound Effect video linked, but under the guise of context--

What brought this up was a vidro of someone making MC and Cheese. It was unsalted butter, Parmesan.. and pasta water
. . .

OK, again, I live in Indiana, where flavor goes to die

But even I

Have no CLUE

How someone can make Mac and Cheese as flavorless and utterly Caucasian as you just described.

I had to eat unseasoned rice when I was in Canada and that cursed food has never left the memory of my taste buds.
It's so empty and soulless and I really hope not all of North America treats rice this way otherwise ya'll are cancelled because it's an offense to every person I've ever met that has even bothered to cook it properly.

I don't think I've ever used more than a pinch of salt, water, and rice when making rice.

Rice dishes are good though.

I had a big heaping pile of unseasoned rice set in front of me once and was expected to polish it off.

It's like if a depression slump spontaneously turned into a lump of food

Suffice it to say while no one was looking a decent supply of chocolate syrup from the fridge was also polished off.

You'd think everyone would at least do that, right?

My way of dealing with it was by using a bottle of ketchup. I'm both glad to find another who understands my pain but also sad that someone else also had to go through that.
And yes, "dempression slump spontaneously turned into a lump of food" is possibly the best way to describe it.
