I honestly would feel that Erdrick would be 100 times more hype than Banjo for me, so I would agree to disagree in that regard.

Why not consider the following: next character is neither Banjo nor Erdrick but a surprise pick a la Joker and Erdrick is revealed at E3. What would this mean for Banjo chances?

I don't think Erdrick would be a good fit for E3. He's not iconic enough for tons of gamers to recognize him.

Eldegard I feel is a maybe. Sakurai didn’t really want corrin or to push a character for directly advertising purposes, but he could realistically be easily forced again.

Banjo would be cool, and I would be hype af to see him in Smash, but I have to be honest and just say I will not allow myself to think it’s remotely likely to happen in the first place.

Hm in that scenario. I could see banjo close out the fighters pass. Appealing to the hardcore requests for him while someone else takes dlc slot 4 that would be super hype. Erderick would get slot 3 in this scenario, with this shock character being slot 2.

I think a lineup like that makes sense sake wise. It has a little for everyone. Something new, something old, something classic, something iconic, and something shocking.

This is one of the main reasons why I didn't believe we'd get a Direct on the 11th. The only "source" who said for sure it's happening is these shmucks, and the people who are actually credible just said "hmm, maybe".
