I personally think a more focused roster ala HftF would be better to have a more varied roster and avoid spreading it too thin. I dunno, maybe I'm being boring but I'd go with most of the original roster and add Part 4 and 5 characters only, though that'd obviously surpass 25 characters.

Imo, The more family friendly nature of Smash compared to most fighting games, definitely helps it broaden it's appeal...

And it's definitely necessary if they want to use certain characters

I highly doubt the Pokemon Company would allow Pikachu to be in a gruesome M rated game...

Honestly, people just need to get their heads out of their asses and let people be more creative with established brands. When parents say “of course I bought it for my kid, it has a cute animal or a superhero on the cover” my response is “you know what is also on the cover, the ****ing M rating!”

well P4A/U had Persona 3 and 4 characters all with shadow versions on themselves. and Persona Q 2 has Persona 3, 4 and 5 so Id think Persona 5 Arena would have 3, 4 and 5 also. Dunno about shadows tho. From what I heard, they killed P4AU because of how op they were
