Advance Wars: Fates.

A game split into three versions that all cost $60 each. Playing all three is required to understand the whole story! Also includes face petting and other waifu shenanigans, with DLC that costs more than the actual game!

Another Advance Wars character in Smash? ugh...
Yeah right? When will Fire Emblem ever get it's chance to be in Smash? Advance Wars gets all the love and it shows Sakurai's favoritism to that series.
Ifyou want a flipping series...
Oh yeah yeah there's already a game for that I should have remembered. :)

I'm more concerned with if Ori is coming to Switch now that Cuphead is than Cadence of Hyrule. I love me some Zelda but Necrodancer doesn't seem like my cup of tea. I might give it a shot though just in case.
At this point, it's all but confirmed Ori is coming, and I wouldn't even be surprised if it's a part of Nintendo's E3 presentation this year. The listings for Ori, all of these Microsoft rumors ending up only coming more and more true, etc.

If anything, this has been such a rollercoaster of a ride. First NateDrake breaks the news, then Ori listing for Switch happened, then people like Imran Khan and Jason Schreier say GamePass and Microsoft stuff isn't happening all that much, then Cuphead for Switch.

We're really inching closer until that inevitable announcement.

If you don't want Katana Zero after watching that you're not allowed to play videogames

Would've been hilarious if Cuphead was revealed for Smash when the game was announced for Switch

The funniest part about all of this is Nintendo and Microsoft's new buddy buddy relationship contrasting to Sony sitting in the corner and hissing whenever the concept of even something as simple as crossplay gets brought up.

Real talk though, how would a rhythm based moveset work for Smash?
>sakurai makes character that powers up moves to background music beat
>we have to make a music tier list and ban certain songs like 25m and environmental noises
>music selection is pivotal to smash tourneys
>ring a ding is the only music played in smash tourneys

while you losers have been having fun watching some dumb loser games ive been utilizing my 5000 iq to make a smash moveset for thanos
Normals:

Jab: He extends his left arm forwards with his hand outstretched and than follows up with a right hook. Based off how he approached Steve in Wakanda.

Forward Tilt: The Gauntlet glows purple, and he thrusts his fist out a short distance only for a short purple disjointed blast to appear in front of him. Would have decent range. Based on how he scored the near-final blow on Tony on Titan

Up Tilt: He claps his hands together above him. His left hand starts from the bottom-left of him and his right from the bottom-right. Both arms have a hitbox on them.

Down Tilt: A quick low kick in front of him, based on how he kicked Strange.

Dash Attack: A quick purple blast appears in front of him, knocking enemies upwards. Similar to how he threw Steve away in Wakanda.

Forward Smash: All the stones on the Gauntlet glow as he delivers a devastating left-handed punch forwards. Afterwards, a small multicolored blast appears in front of his hand.

Up Smash: He raises his left hand directly above him. All the stones glow, and a multicolored blast shoots a decent distance directly above him.

Down Smash: All the stones glow, and he punches the ground with his left hand. Two multicolored blasts shoot up from the ground to his left and right.
Grabs & Throws:

Grab: He grabs the opponent with his right hand, choking them in front of them and holding his left hand to their head

Pummel: The Gauntlet glows a slight purple, using the Power Stone to cause damage to the enemy. Similar to how he tortured Thor and Nebula.

Forward Throw: He punts his opponent to the front.

Back Throw: He puts the opponent behind him and twirls around, backhanding them with his left hand.

Up Throw: He double hand punches his opponent upwards.

Down Throw: He slams his opponent into the ground, similar to how he slammed Peter on Titan.
Aerials:

Forward Air: He puts his hands together and slams them forwards, dunking the opponent as hard as he can

Back Air: A painful Gauntlet backhand. It’s slow on startup but a very solid kill move.

Up Air: A quick Power Stone blast above him, similar to Zelda’s Up Air.

Down Air: A stall-and-fall, he lingers in the air for a moment before slamming down full force on his opponent. A devastating attack to anyone. It spikes too, just for the disrespect and suicide kills.
Specials:

Neutral Special:
Time Stone: Janky as ****, basically he does the timey-wimey thing he did to Vision, gesture and all. If an opponent is hit by the attack they revert back to where they were some time ago. I don’t know how much time: a half second, full second? Maybe 2 seconds? I have no clue but it’s gotta have a lot of endlag.

Side Special:
Space Stone Absorption: The Space Stone glows blue, and Thanos absorbs all items or projectiles near him and throws them all combined back at the enemy. Each attack he absorbs has an increase in power from its base from when it was thrown at him. Based on multiple attacks he used on Titan.

Up Special:
Space Stone Teleport: It’s a goddamn teleport. Based on him, well, teleporting

Down Special:
Reality Stone: The stone glows red, and he raises his fist up. Any attack that hits him while he’s in this state will cause him to crumple and for the opponent to be stuck in their attack animation, only for him to suddenly appear behind them and punch them. The strength of his attack depends on the strength of the enemies attack. Based on how he bamboozled Gamora on Knowhere.

In other words, it’s a counter.

In other words, he’s a goddamn Marth clone.

Final Smash:
Decimation: he does the thing

why did i do this

I was toying with the idea of having a neutral special that you can continually press to set the beat of a metronome, and then when you hit people in time with the beat, you get a power boost, which grows the longer a combo string lasts.

It'd suck for deaf people, so maybe the character's head could bob to the beat in addition to the sound.

In the case of rhythm heaven it could get away with being just a visual indicator.
For example, say the Chorus Kids are in.

Side special could be some three part attack- the first two attacks are always the same and the third one depends on how well you time pressing the special button again.

Aside from Advance Wars Indie of the month (although I love more games of that style existing personally)...

The new Cadence of Hyrule looks pretty neat. I guess this was the game Vergeben was referring to before?

When Minecraft had that last year.

tbh rhythm heaven's troubled history with smash is probably a direct result of sakurai trying and failing to figure out a rhythm-based moveset
