i'm also gonna go out on a limb and say that if joker and erdrick are both being developed simultaneously, joker was first only because he was seen as a bigger/more recognisable TGA announcement

which given how small persona was just a couple of years ago next to dragon quest is kind of crazy

I mean, as much **** as I give Atlus, at least they know how to market some of their games and do it right. As for Square, if it ain't Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy, man do they not know how to go about marketing jack ****.

Not gonna lie, I thought before they were gonna reveal Dragon Quest XI ST: Echoes: Shadows of Valentia's Elusive Age - Turbo-mastered Edition, that they would finally reveal Collection of Mana with that sound effect. But then again, that kinda goes to show you how they've done jack **** up until that Direct for Dragon Quest here in the US.

Speaking of which, ****ing CHRIST, SQUARE. YOU HAVE THE MANA TRADEMARKS. RELEASE IT ALREADY.

It feels kinda bad. Especially when I see people with pink names because it shows that someone cared enough to prank them. No one's ever cared that much about me.

Yeah that leak was bull****. Nothing credible has come out about the last three characters aside from Verge's assertion that there will be "Minecraft content", only because he had one hell of a track record with this game.

While the leak is fake, I believe this is close to what our final DLC lineup is going to look like.

I've brought this up previously, but Nintendo said this in regards to Smash Bros. DLC at their investor's meeting:

"With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, we asked 'How could we reach not only fans of the Super Smash Bros. series, but also those who had never played it before?' If you look at the demographics of the consumers who purchased each of these titles, Iʼm not convinced weʼve completely overcome these challenges yet. So our aims are to keep working on them this year, to expand sales of these titles to new consumer demographics, and to keep selling these games for a long time, which is one of our strengths."

We're not going to be seeing the tried and true speculation picks. Instead we're going to be seeing off-the-wall picks designed to draw in new players. Crazy stuff like Erdrick and Steve fit this bill extremely well, and I wouldn't be surprised if we get someone like Leon Kennedy or Doomguy as well.

I feel like this could realistically be our fighter pass:

• Joker
• Erdrick
• Steve
• Lloyd Irving
• Leon Kennedy/Doomguy

All characters have large fanbases with not much overlap between them and Smash Bros. fans. All of them also draw in new players to Smash Bros., thus driving sales of Smash, DLC, and the Switch itself alongside creating mass amounts of hype both within and outside of those fanbases.

I'm honestly surprised that a Tales character hasn't happened yet.
Personally I'm baking on Yuri, but I'm not super familiar with the series so I can't quite say who else, lol

a lot of japan is already a dragon quest fan anyway. they even have things like a museum for it.
