If you took the ore club and twirled it in the air to hit someone, therefore "not being used in a clubbing fashion", it doesn't really make it any less of a bludgeoning weapon. The Ore Club is a club no matter what, yes, but if villager’s stick clubbiness is already dubious, then the fact that it’s not even used as a club isn’t exactky helping its case.


Baseball bats are clubs, no? So, would a thin plastic baseball bat suddenly not be a club despite the fact you can still club things with it? Baseball bats are clubs, yes, but they’re shaped and used like clubs too. Villager’s stick only claim to being a club is being a stick, it doesn’t have nearly as much leeway.
What about a toy golf club?

Gothitelle is likely intended to fill the same niche as Gardevoir within Gen V because they couldn't use Gardevoir because of the "all new Pokémon" gimmick.

They're technically tied together in that way.

I take what he says into consideration but with a big grain of salt. I don't necessarily believe him nor do I not believe him he's just kind of there and something to consider.

The thing about this, though, is that both Villager and Isabelle are aware that they’re in a competition where they’re intended to attack the other participants, given that they directly received invites to Smash and must have been aware of what the invites were for.
So, in this case, it may be that Isabelle always intends to attack with the pot, but she’s clumsy and trips every time she takes it out, or she’s tripping on purpose to throw the pot further.
