Played a bit of Smash online. I don't know if it's just me, but the Inkling's Rollers seem to be as broken in Smash as they are in Splatoon. In Splatoon, it seems unfair to have a weapon that makes you move faster than people who don't have it and instantly KOs anyone who lightly touches it, though maybe that's because I can only access Turf War, where that weapon also gives the team a massive advantage by filling in large areas of the map with their colour through the simple action of moving.

Meanwhile, in Smash, it seems to keep you buried longer than any other method of burying people (like DK's headbutt), and if you're touched by it (which seems likely given how long it can be kept out, especially on an Omega stage), then you're guaranteed to take about 40% damage.

Maybe I'm not experienced enough with playing as or against Inklings, but it seems like the only way to get out of being buried by a roller is by mashing the jump button... and, by the time you get out of it, they'll pull out the roller again and hit you as soon as you land because they can keep using it for as long as you're in the air.
Inkling's Roller comes off as "Busted" because while the move was designed as a "High risk/High reward" move, it was given option to just be difficultly punishable, a ******** hitbox, tons of mix-up alongside giving more recovery option to a character who TRULY don't need it, and around 80% if you get it by it, it's instant Death.

Why is that?
They give the option to Jump out of roller or turn away, Or cancellable without any downside, alongside having a powerful burriable move.
Some characters can't outspeed it to run away.
If you get hit by it, it's free Smash, Kill for it.
And if youmanaged to mash off of it, Up-smash cover your "recovery jump" from mashing and you die too.
Shielding it isn't strong against it, since the Hitbox stay.

The only good option is Punishing it in it's start-up as the Hitbox take a bit to comes off. Or Perfect Shield it.

Add to this Smash Ultimate buffer, Shieldstun, and lag, and you have the perfect move to give frustration.

But it seems to be the game philosophy for Inkling, they're true to their games, but easy to play for new people, whenever it's their Up-B having hitboxes on start and landing, the big recovery, the roller, their smash attacks, and ******** dash/Grab, Inkling have a tons of good point, to be frustrating in an online environment.

Randomly for those who have seen mine work.

What would you think a Tiny kong or Chunky redesign would look like?

Hmm...Interesting. Piranha Plant must be coming faster than expected, then.

I wonder what balance changes it will bring with it. Hopefully buffs rather than nerfs, as it is waaaaaay too early for knee-jerk stuff like that.

If Brave gets datamined and it turns out to be Eight or Erdrick with him as some kind of Alph... I may write a letter to Sakurai similar to the one that the K.Rool fans like myself made last year.

It would just mean a lot to me.

Imagine if Nintendo pulls a Ryu/Roy on Brave and uploads their model on the next update.
Internet would probably go crazy and start fighting. I can already picture it...

"In this corner, we have *insert character who made it here*!

...and in this corner, we have *Supporters of characters who weren't confirmed here*!

Patch 2.0.0 is coming soon!
Possible Plant DLC release?
I'm hoping the fact that they outright mentioned that patch notes are coming with it means they'll be more descriptive this time around, but we'll see.

If Patch 1.2.0 is any indication, we'll get the characters they've changed and nothing else.

Since the topic of roller came up, I'm just gonna leave this here, as my thoughts on it haven't really changed:

As staindgrey said, jumping over Roller is usually the best response to it. not only that, but you can also shield it, and with characters like Snake, punish it with your grenades and aerials.

As someone who mains Inkling, I'll tell you right now that Roller is a bit overhyped: It's good, but it isn't broken IMO. It's predictable, and really only works if you catch someone off-guard. There are some good tells that Inklings will give if they're about to try to go into Roller, as most people (myself included) will try to use it as a punish move rather than an approaching tool.

Some examples would be:

  • Punish on ledge get up
  • Punish on shield or roll
  • Punish on landing
  • Punish on whiff
Other instances of when we'll Roller are out of Dash Dance and potentially out of regular dash if the Inkling uses their dash to dodge a projectile and gets in close enough to punish. Try to keep these strategies in mind whenever you go up against Inkling and practise trying to get reads and when Inkling is going to try one of these things. Also, keep an eye on your percent, as the higher you are, the more likely an Inkling is to try and go for Roller to get a kill with Up-Smash or Forward-Smash.
Roller is all about reads. Inklings usually give off the tells I listed for when they're gonna go for it, and the two primary ways of punishing are:

Grab if they cancel on the ground.
Or,
An aerial or Up-Smash to punish a jump cancel.

Nerfing it is a slippery slope, as it would be very easy to completely mess it up and make the move useless. I understand some find it annoying, but since there is legit counterplay against it, I am firmly against roller changes right now, especially when there are no signs of Inklings dominating competitive (I don't think they've even won a major yet).

-Changes have been made to these characters-
Isabelle

-We changed a “C” in K.Rool’s tag for the boxing ring stage with a “K”.

-We finally completed the DK Rap.

-Now you can play Guile’s theme on every stage and the menu.

-You can play as Master Hand in Multi-Man mode after beating World Of Light.

-We modified the Galacta Knight and Dark Meta Knight skins to look more accurate.

Bravery is literally a concept that could apply to like any fictional hero at this point

You're not rong to want a character, but theres plenty of characters that can be twisted for Brave to fit. The reason people are saying it's Erdrick is bc of leaks and **** and his name being mentioned over and over

I'm actually kinda on the fence on Erdrick being Brave due to the stats being a weird fit for him, unless it's chibi Erdrick but I think Sakurai would like to show off Toriyama's art completely.

The "Yuuki Crest" is Agumon's crest.
Yuuki Means "Courageous or Bravery"

Yuusha means HERO, thats the point. They use Yuusha in Dragon Quest as a Class called "HERO".

And people thinks it means Brave becouse "Oh Nintendo translated it rong in the files" WHAT!?

Yes. You are. You're also 'wrong' because you're spelling it 'rong'. Agumon's not in man; just give it a rest already.
