So as the resident Resident Evil guy™, I have a PSA for anyone who might want to pick up Resident Evil REmake, RE0 or RE4 on the Switch when they release soon:

DO. Not. Buy them.

It's just a bad deal.

The games will release for $30 a pop. Sure, most new games are $60, but all three of these games, when they were originally "remastered" for current gen consoles, sold for $20 a pop, and still do. Like, right now. If you own a PS3/PS4/X360/XB1 or PC, you can go buy them for $10 less than the Switch version and there are no differences aside from the Switch being portable. You can also buy RE5 and RE6 for $20 on literally any other console. All of Capcom's RE ports this- and last-gen have been $20, and they should continue to be. Even RE4 on the Wii, which released eleven years ago and added motion functionality and 16:9 formatting, cost $20 at launch. You know where else it costs $20? On the goddamn Nintendo eShop for Wii U. Right now.

While Capcom may want to claim this is to offset the cost of manufacturing the proprietary Switch cartridges, as some companies have done in the past, here's the kicker: They're barely making any cartridges. Europe isn't getting a physical release at all. The States are getting one, but it does not include RE4, REmake is included as a download code and RE0 is on the cartridge. This physical release still costs $60. When they released Revelations and Revelations 2 as Switch ports in a similar way, with Rev1 on cartridge and Rev2 included as a code, that cost $40. Both of those games also sell for $20 each on the eshop right now, and those are ports of much more recent games.

It pains me to say this, but guys, unless the Switch is the only console you own and you really want to try Resident Evil, don't buy these. It'll only encourage Capcom to pull this bull**** again in the future. These games were all made 15+ years ago, and they weren't remastered in any significant way for this release. I still plan on getting them-- at least REmake, because it's the best-- at some point to have it on the go, but only when it goes on sale to 50% or so. They've already done it on XB1 before, so I know they'll do it for Switch at some point.

Now, as you were.

May be a hot take, but I always preferred Roggenrola to Geodude. The emphasis on metamorphic rocks and crystals with the design I always found cooler then its counterpart.
Always hated that you needed to trade to get Gigalith, makes it hard to get it in replays of the Gen 5 games. I like Golem too, but Gigalith is just top drawer, definitely one of my favorite modern designs (which is almost 10 years ago now, so maybe not so modern anymore...).

Why Hatsune Miku would be a great Smash fighter: an essay.
Exhibit A:

In conclusion: Hatsune Miku should be in Smash

But she's not... I just looked it up.

Canoncically that is, but really you can make characters be whatever.

(This was a joke that probably went over my head)

I mean Birdo is always a cool option for that though if you want someone who is actually in canon trans.

osby osby how exactly did you become a moderator anyway?
I'm going to guess by being active, level-headed, friendly and having a decent sense of judgment at a time when this thread sorely needed another mod or two to keep track of it.
