That's one of the things I struggle with. I feel like it'd be unfair if I was non-binary and am still comfortable with male pronouns despite me not really meshing with that gender identity.
I don't want anyone to think I'd be wearing that identity like a fashion statement or anything... so I haven't really talked about it much.
Well, what pronouns you use should fit what's comfortable to you no matter what

There are a couple nb people I know who use female gender pronouns even if they don't think they fit that identity very much, simply because they've been called by those for so long and they feel most comfortable with it

Either way gender identity can be confusing, and you should take all the time you need. We all love and support you either way x

Hey, from one LGBT person to the other, you're valid regardless of how you feel, if you still prefer he/him pronouns then there's nothing wrong with that. If you want she/her, also fair. They/them? Equally valid. It's ok to take a while and think, but no matter the outcome, it's a good outcome
The other month I told my dad and my girlfriend that I've been thinking about it and... like... I'm just me. I'm not manly nor do I want to be, yet I'm not super comfortable with feminine pronouns either. I'm just... Me. I'm just... Kevin.
I am who I am.

It's been on my mind a lot, thinking about what I meant when I said those things.

There's nothing wrong with using male or female pronouns as non-binary. I see a lot of people use "he/they" or "she/they" and I have a friend irl who identifies as NB but uses female pronouns(though it is basically necessary for the Portuguese language).

Never forget, you're valid and will be loved regardless. Take some time to figure it out, it doesn't make you any less of a person nor should it

Hey thread, I have a message for you all!
they.jpg

I've been struggling with trying to figure it out for a while. I'm not trying to make it seem like I'm just saying so or anything, but I wanted to test the waters to help me figure it out. Sorry if I end up touching anybody's nerve by saying so.
It is completely acceptable to be nonbinary, you are cool.

Thanks for the support guys. It might take me a little while not to feel like a fake, but I appreciate y'all making me feel valid.

I'm cool with he/they then. c:

oh **** kevin is actually the god of judaism

Yahweh means "I am who I am", it's a neat religion joke.

That would be the case but a couple years ago the English language higher-ups changed the law of the English language so that you have to use "he or she" instead of "they".

i dont know how but thats when i learned in 5th grade when my teacher talked about it for like 2 weeks straight
The use of "they" as an acceptable gender neutral singular pronoun has been a relatively recent thing for English. As a rule it's a third-person plural pronoun, but due to non-binary people becoming more common (or rather, more commonly being comfortable with their identities and such), the language has evolved to include it as a third-person singular pronoun as well.

Now if only y'all would become the English language's official second person plural pronoun.

Actually the use of they as a neither male nor female singular noun has been used since medieval times, but has dropped off since the Victorian era.

Pyra Pyra I don’t give a **** about your sexuality since that doesn’t and shouldn’t change the way you live your life nor does it change my opinion of you, and all that needs to matter is yourself (personality, how cool you are, and all that)....and guess what...you are a cool person to “hang out” with here and you should continue being you/yourself/yi (I’m no poet so here’s a decent enough positive opinionated comment)

That's kind of like the shifts that happened with thou, thee, you, and ye, right?

The English language, and every other language for that matter, is garbage anyway. Like, there are two separate ways to pronounce 'tear' depending on the context and meaning, it's how we get "Shampoo no tears" and you think "Oh so it won't make my baby cry if it gets in their eyes" no it actually means you won't get tears in your hair, which in Dutch is the same word as slang for clitoris because languages are a *****. I'm going to the tower of babel and I will kill god myself because of **** like this

Toaster my lord if anyone thinks you're "wearing that identity" I will **** them up!
Countless NB people are comfortable with male pronouns. I know many who are myself. Be the you you want to be the most comfortable with. And PM me if you want to talk about it, I don't want my ol' TB to struggle alone with this when there's an answer!

These days even the official ****ing Dictionary.com insists on using they as a singular pronoun.
First I'd heard of this.

i can see why, lol. honestly, i'm under the impression that it was intentionally meant to piss people off because that would be the ultimate meta despair for everything to have been basically a broadcasted show the whole time

Ya'll haven't heard of stupid languages until you learn one that insists on gendering everything that exists, even other words.

I like to use “contrera/contreras” when referring to others, tbh.

Also, the Dragon Quest Builders demo was a fantastic experience.

if its ambiguous then it's he or she

like, the "correct" version of "they're getting away" would be something like "he or she is getting away".

may not be a good example but im not a good english teacher

Is Monty Python and the Holy Grail any good?
yes
