I'm torn between starting my AC New Leaf town back up or playing GCN AC while I wait for AC Switch.

While New Leaf is arguably the best AC so far, GCN has a lot of nostalgia appeal for me, and always felt like the only old one worth revisiting thanks to how different the writing is compared to the others.
i'm so glad someone agrees with me about GCN Animal Crossing, it's the only one that doesn't feel like a downgrade going back because it's just an entirely different game

Sonic or Knuckles should be Miles since they’re the blackest characters in the series (would’ve said Shadow...but he’s edgy and hates black people)
I’d rather have my idea more in terms of the relationship between those pairs of characters instead of anything race related.

Why not both? Animal Crossing in front of TV, New Leaf when not.
...Huh.

That's actually a really great idea. I think I'll do just that. In a way, switching (heh) back and forth between the handheld one and console one will get me ready for the Switch version, lol.

Never played him that much but once in a blue moon, I can pull off Jab 3 to kill with Wii Fit Trainer, it's satisfying as hell.

At least the crew isn't as seperated now. The greatest is when they're all around, they add a lot to each other.
I havent binged it tho.
Yeah, the biggest positive about season 5 is that the original story structure is back. Season 4's original cut lacks that due to the cast having conflicting schedules overall, which Fateful Consequences fixed to make the storyline more streamlined and sensical (but in turn, the payoff is less concerning plot twists as well. So, it's basically take your pick between the original season 4 and the FC version of season 4).

While I find seasons 1-3 absolutely brilliant (and actually perfect, possibly) and season 4 pretty good (even though s1-3 are better), s5 was...average for me. It's not nearly as funny as it once was and it felt like the writers were running out of ideas. The characters still have good moments, but it's not what the show was.

That makes sense, see i never even thought about that, I just thought they were going for something different. I dont expect season 5 to be as funny as 1-3 anyway, especially after 4, but im just glad it's better now (including because of more together).
And I agree, season 1-3 was almost like a comedic masterpiece to me. Definitely special :)

Just counted my official game checklist. Removing duplicates and downloads, I'm sitting at 500 unsealed physical games in my collection. And going through my checklist, I've only beaten ~40% of them (discounting compilations I have yet to 100%). Embarrass

I know I won't ever beat certain games like Ghosts 'n Goblins or any number of RPGs but if I can get to 50% someday I'll be happy.

Who is your favorite AD character?
Mine is Lucille, with a close 2nd being George Michael and a close 3rd being GOB.

That's an impressive collection and completion percentage!

Speaking of not finishing certain games, I know how that feels. I too have some in my collection that I know I'm probably just never going to get to. There's just too many games out there nowadays, I honestly struggle to keep up with how many good old games there are and how many really good new releases come out nowadays. Everytime I finish a game and it comes time to pick my next one, it's a bit of a struggle. :dizzy:

lucille? really, that's not one of mine, but I think they all add something interesting to the family. I think Tobias is my favorite but i also like George Micheal a lot. (cant miss out on the nerdy awkwardness) .
It's funny because Micheal isn't even that funny but he's a central pillar to the comedy in a lot of cases.

I really hope the evil team for SwoShi will be as good as Team Rocket.

From Team Aqua/Magma on, all evil teams have been thorougly stupid, wanting to destroy the world for really contrived reasons. It mostly comes down to the hubris of their leader, who somehow tricks a bunch of grunts into following his plan. Said grunts follow the plan without questioning it, idiotically believing that "Team [name] will take over the world!" and that participation in the plan will somehow save them all from the destruction. They also dress in silly costumes, and serve more as comic relief than a legitimate threat.

And of course, the world as we know it is always at stake. This gets really boring after a while. It's always: "Save the world, 10-year-old, because nobody else bother to!". For being a threat to the world, surely the most powerful trainers around take the evil teams lightly. And true enough, the evil organization plotting to destroying/taking over the world is easily beaten by the 10-year-old. That gives me an impression that their plans weren't thought out at all, greatly diminishing the sensation of the world being threatened. In short, the evil teams from RSE on have been a bunch of weirdly-dressing doofuses who bite over way more than they could possibly hope to chew, with no consideration or no backup plan whatsoever.

Contrast Team Rocket, who, while having way smaller ambitions, also achieved the greatest success of all the evil teams.
Firstly, Team Rocket practically owned the region at the start of the game. Team Rocket members were bullying people and stealing Pokémon in every city in the region, save for Pallet Town and Pewter City (and maybe Fuchsia, I can't really remember). They weren't some fringe terrorist organization with greater ambitions than brains, they were the freakin' mafia. Their casino in Celadon raked in money for their organization, while also providing them with a hiding spot. Even though their lair on Cinnabar Island burned down, they succeeded in their plans there, creating Mewtwo (and subsequently losing control of it, but oh well, not really much they could do to stop that, and the player character had zero interference in that plan). The police were powerless to stop them, and Team Rocket managed to seize control of the headquarters of the greatest corporation in Kanto, stealing their technology.

And the grunts? Instead of brainwashed nobodies tricked into following a plan to the end of the world, they willingly joined for money and power. Team Rocket members, freely strolling the streets of Kanto in uniform, were openly bragging about their membership. Meanwhile, the name of the organization was only whispered by others, fearing the iron grip they held on Kanto. At the start of the game, Team Rocket might have been the single most powerful organization in Kanto, nobody opposing them but this one, idealist, talented trainer from Pallet Town. They were at the top of the game, having even infiltrated the Pokémon League (with Giovanni being an official Gym Leader), they were making butt-loads of money, and successfully stole all the Pokémon they wanted. And that was it. They didn't feel like needlessly destroying the world. Kanto was theirs already, they had got everything they wanted. They felt like a powerful enemy, because they were powerful. And instead of beating their leaders in silly outfits, you went from town to town in Kanto, beating back Team Rocket grunts, loosening their grasp on Kanto until you managed to convince their leader to give up and live a crime-free life. He then walks away, unscathed and unpunished. As a ten-year-old, you might convince him to disband the organization, but you have no way of giving him his deserved punishment, or making him speak for his crimes in court. Truly, Giovanni didn't fall from power, he simply stepped down and walked away a free man.

As for the legendary Pokémon, they stayed legendary. Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno were hidden in the most remote corners of the region, outside Team Rocket's sphere of influence, and outside their plans at all, for that matter. What could Team Rocket hope to achieve with them, anyway? They had the region at their fingertips already, no need to bother with a few ultra-rare birds hanging around in the middle of nowhere. Team Rocket didn't need any Legendaries to achieve their goal. Their goal was money and power, and they already had it all when you started your adventure.

Instead of simply observing an evil team trying to destroy the world (and being totally unable to influence it, apart from causing them to fail at the last minute), RBY had you face a powerful organization and actively bring them down from power. Team Rocket were way more cool than all the rest of the evil teams combined.

I've found it's actually a really rewarding experience to play games from series that I haven't played before when a character from that series gets into Smash.

I bought Persona 5 over the summer from Amazon through a Prime Day deal, but was putting off playing it. When Joker was revealed, I was like, "Oh hey, I didn't expect that. But that's cool."

Now that I've played a good amount of Persona 5, I'm so excited he's in Smash. It's just another way to show me that any Smash game that makes cuts at this point will have nothing on Ultimate. Like, I have a connection to nearly every character in the game save for Roy and Lucas (I haven't played Marth's games, but I want to and simply like playing the character especially).

Smash Ultimate is really something special.

I was thinking a little earlier, though, that there's really no way we don't get another character in the inevitable Smash 3.0 Direct. My guess is that it's Erdrick/Luminary getting revealed with an Alefgard stage.

Honestly, when I think of that leak, I think it's a relatively safe bet for Mementos to be the stage. A lot of people love the casino, and I understand why, but when it comes to the game itself it's...a palace. There are a number of palaces in the game. Aside from the design, there really isn't a major reason to pick it as a stage save for it being unique.

Mementos probably would have been my guess for a stage had I played Persona 5 prior to Joker's reveal.

Side note, Persona 5 may be the only game I play in the series...for now. I'm not a fan of the character designs from the other games in the series. There's just something about Persona 5 that makes it so great.

Er, even Team Rocket has designs for world domination and/or having world-wide effects. Giovanni blatantly says this is HGSS:

"My old associates need me... We will not repeat the failure of three years ago! Team Rocket will be born again, and I will rule the world!"

And in FRLG they're stated to steal Pokémon around the world, not just in Kanto. That's also not getting into the Rainbow Rocket episode which puts their plan on an extradimensional scale, which is even a step above characters like Cyrus. Giovanni even captures and uses Mewtwo, a Pokémon whose power is consistently portrayed to be among the likes of Groudon or Xerneas, so even they had use for Legendaries like the other teams. You could argue that their plan feels more down to earth since the original games lack that world scale feel, but ultimately they're still a team that has plans that reach farther then the region they live in.
