So can we suggest characters? Because I have a few suggestions
You can suggest characters when "Jobs" that fit their descriptions open up. Right now we are not in a job period, but when a mod or someone in charge of the thread makes a post detailing a job and you have a character that fits the description, you can submit one character per job to be voted on.

So can we suggest characters? Because I have a few suggestions
Hello! Welcome to the Smash Infinite thread! To learn more about how we run things here and how you can contribute please read this:

Hello potential developer!
Welcome to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sequel Project - now known as Super Smash Bros. Infinite! We are very excited to see that you have expressed interest in joining our project. Here are some FAQs regarding our project:

Is this actually going to be a fan game?
Unfortunately, this is just a creative brainstorming project. We are only coming up with ideas on how this game will function, what characters it will have, and how different it will be from its predecessor, Ultimate.

Cool! How do I submit a character/stage/assist trophy/etc.?
This project is run on a job-by-job basis. This means that the thread creator, Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom or the Executive Assistants, (@Smashing Ramen, @Mr. Robotto, and Krookodilian Krookodilian ) will be providing prompts regularly for us developers to answer. These prompts can range from specific (Submit a Halloween Themed character) to vague (Suggest a new first-party franchise for our next character). Once some time has passed after the prompt is given, we will vote on the suggestions, with the winning suggestion(s) making it to the final game. This means that we won't have the opportunity to suggest characters/stages/etc. until the prompt itself is given to us. Furthermore, when we do add characters, keep in mind that we try to keep the newcomers different. For example, after having Jill & Leon as our Game Awards newcomers, we were unable to submit Officer Howard as our next newcomer because they would be too similar (anime cop with a gun that kills otherworldly monsters). This doesn't mean that you would not be able to suggest them again later, it just means we can't have two similar characters back to back. Again, we will have specific times to suggest characters, so please hold onto your ideas for then!

What about Spirits and Music?
As with other parts of the game, we will be submitting spirits on a case-by-case basis, in order to account for the work our Spirit Team does. The two main times we will submit spirits will be after a new character is revealed and when a spirit event is made. Spirit events are week long submissions that are themed around a particular... theme. This can be things like holidays, such as Easter, genres, such as fighting games, to more abstract concepts, like inanimate objects. We do have set rules, about submitting spirits, however. During spirit events, we will only accept 3 submissions per user and each submission is approved based on the discretion of the Spirit Team. Some examples of spirits that will be rejected are real life hardware, such as gaming consoles and accessories, spirits with no official art, and spirits that will increase the age rating. Additionally, when submitting spirits, it is highly encouraged to follow the format listed below to provide the Spirits Team with the information required to add them to the wiki.

In terms of music, we have a document on the main page. Music will be added periodically to prevent the document from filling up too fast. Each universe has a cap number, such as 40, that will be the maximum number of allowed songs. Additionally, this cap will be capped by a second, temporary cap, so you it is presented as 15/40. This means that of the 40 songs that will be added throughout the project's lifespan, only 15 will be accepted at the moment. This cap is raised every so often, and the maximum may be increased by adding a stage/character to the project later on. Like with spirits, we will be accepting music on a case-by-case basis. Songs that have difficulty negotiating for, songs with little to no relation with Nintendo or the characters in the project, or series with too many songs will be removed. Fan remixes are allowed, provided you give credit.

Wait, a wiki?
Yeah, we have a cool wiki. You'll find almost everything related to the project on this site.

That's about all I can think of for the project right now! Please enjoy your stay and we look forward to working with you!

W finally have a clear winner with Space Invaders. It’s rather fitting given how iconic the game was and how it contributed to modern gaming that we see today. I also saw a clear inclination concerning submissions that leaned heavily to either indie representation and arcade retro representation. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see these prompts get brought back again!

We are continuing our Assist Trophy content in the Direct and, considering just how iconic Space Invaders is, I’m sure that would be a hype-inducing announcement but we are still looking to add further Assist content. With that in mind, we are going to include several of them in quick succession:

Job #101: Submit an Assist Trophy from four of the following Prompts

Please submit Assist Trophies for the following categories. We are accepting submissions for four of the categories. Submitting more will result in your fifth submission being ignored. If a category doesn’t get any submissions, we will remove it and not count it. If the category has one submission, that wins by default.

Here are the categories. Please indicate which category your assist will be apart of:

A) submit a first party character that debuted on the Nintendo 64
B) Submit a Yoshi series rep
C) Submit a F-Zero rep
D) Submit a rep from Animal Crossing: New Horizons
E) Submit a rep from Xenoblade Chronicles 2
F) Submit a first party healing assist trophy (a character that heals)
G) Submit an first party assist trophy that also attacks the summoner
H) Submit an assist trophy that comes from a first party series currently repped via Mii Costume, Item, Music, or Spirits

Please submit four assist trophies for four separate categories. Please explain briefly what that Assist Trophy does and a little bit of history behind them. Please include which category that submission fills. You can split your four submissions into different posts or keep them all in one post. If a category doesn’t get any submissions, we skip it and throw it out. The submission will win by default if it’s the only one for that category.

Hoping we see some mind games with these submissions. You have four to make but we are going to get a “win by default” result again? Who knows?

H: Jill & Drill Dozer

Functions almost identically to how she does in Brawl. The gear gauge appears on screen and Jill will shout "Hiyaa!" every time she shifts a gear, which increases her power and speed. Just like in Drill Dozer, there are only 3 gears.

B:
Job 90
Fuzzy

Fuzzy's appearance is similar to the Moon or Nintendog ATs, in that it appears, disappears, and then its effects take place. Once it disappears (which is accompanied by its "fart" noise), the screen is flooded with Fuzzies, the music slows and the stage starts to tilt left and right, alternating in speed while effecting gravity. The screen gains a colourful hue. The fuzzies that fly by obscure some of the screen - albeit in a way that isn't as intrusive as Nintendog or Nightmare. Fuzzies cannot appear on scrolling stages or any stages that already have spinning/sliding elements like Mario Circuit, Lylat Cruise, or Brinstar Depths.

F: Geno

Yeah, I'm going there. Geno appears on screen and grants a wish. (represented by a shooting star passing by) This heals every fighter back to 0%.

G: Lip

Lip swaps every fighter's location on the stage.

Category A: Ukiki
Ukiki is the, to quote the great Brian David Gilbert, "sh*theel of a monkey" that originated in Super Mario 64. In said game he would steal Mario's hat which forces Mario to go chase after him to grab back his hat. In Smash Infinite, he'd play similarly. In SSBI, Ukiki will chase after his Summoner's opponents. If the opponent has no items, he will grab onto an enemy's head. While on their head, he will attack them which will slow the opponent down and deal damage to them. However, the opponent can knock off Ukiki by spamming the special attack button. Ukiki will also steal any items that the opponent might have when they jump off.

Well he does still count for category B so I change it so that he's being submitted for category B.

Category G: Redead
Redeads are undead enemies from the Zelda series. Originating in Ocarina of Time, they were found in the Ganon conquered version of the Hyrule Castle Town. They have since appeared in many other 3D Zeldas. In SSBI, they take their OoT appearance. Once summoned, the Redead will lumber across the stage. Anytime they encounter a fighter, they will lash at them with their arms, dealing large amounts of damage but with very little knockback. They are hard to kill but they can be stunned by items like the Deku Nut or the Pitfall.

Category F: Sakura
Sakura is a party member in Fire Emblem Fates. She is a cleric who is apart of the Hoshidan royal family. She is known for her timid and shy nature, although she is a good healer in her own right. She has since appeared in Fire Emblem Heroes and Fire Emblem Warriors. In SSBI, she will heal whoever summoned her and if her healer stands near her, they will take 5% less damage because of her Quiet Strength ability.

We have eight categories. You can submit four assist trophies; one per category. We will hold separate voting for each category. If we get one submission for a categoy, that’s a default win. If a category doesn’t get any submissions, that category gets thrown out. This is to fill up our assist montage during the 50 minute April Smash Direct. Basically, I smushed five jobs into one to save time.

A: Todd Snap

Todd Snap would stand in the back of the stage, taking pictures and walking a bit to the side. However, our friend Todd forgot to turn off flash, and stuns the fighters with his light. Basically Yuri, but not as creepy, and a different effect.

B: Don Bongo

Don Bongo would be somewhat large, around two Ridleys tall. The only way to defeat Don Bongo is by hitting his lips of rubber! You can tell how much damage Don Bongo has taken by his lips, as the purpler his lips, the more damage Don Bongo has taken. He basically just stomps around the stage, dealing damage to fighters who touch him. Getting caught under Don Bongo's foot buries you.

D: Flick

Flick would spawn and stand still on the stage. He would then release Tarantulas and Scorpions from their cages! Tarantulas and Scorpions do the same thing, stunning and poisoning at the same time. The bugs also don't stop running if they get to a ledge. Flick will occasionally throw a beehive at an opponent, which stays if the fighter dodges it (if items are turned off, the beehive disappears if it hits the ground). When Flick is about to leave, if items are turned on, Flick gives a bug related item to the summoner (Beetle, Beehive, etc).

H: Captain Toad

Captain Toad would spawn in the area he's summoned in. He would then proceed to pluck out turnips and throw it at opponents, moving a bit to the side. There is a rare chance for Captain Toad to pick up a giant turnip, which deals three times the damage. And an even rarer chance, Captain Toad would pluck a Super Pickax, which makes Toad super fast as he hits his pickax forwards! Also Captain Toad can't jump. If Captain Toad is spawned in the cloud of the Super Happy Tree, he'll stay there unless he is hit off the stage. In that case, he'll respawn on the main platform.

Just to inform the thread, we increased the assist count from 3 to 4 so it would be half of eight. If you see any mention of 3, just read it as 4. Thank you.

Since this will be difficult for now, I’ll start with one

Yoshi Assist: Poochy

1620612783779.jpeg

Poochy when summoned will use his tongue to lick opponents, dealing a bit of damage and knockback. He will also rams into opponents and he can be ridden as well. He can not be KOed, as an extra nod to the Yoshi games.

E/F (whichever works better): Haze
XC2-Haze_artwork.png

Haze is a Rare Blade from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Originally an NPC in the main game, she became a playable character in the game's DLC Expansion/Side Game, Torna - The Golden Country. When summoned, she will constantly follow the Fighter who summoned her and use her powers to consistantly heal them. However, she can be attacked and eliminated, so be careful.

G: MC Ballyhoo
1600px-MP8_MCBallyhoo_and_Big_Top_Artwork.png

MC Ballyhoo (and Big Top) is the host of Mario Party 8. When summoned, he'll pull out a Dice Block, with a pathway of panels appearing behind him. Blue Panels can give the player minor buffs. However, Red Panels can give them debuffs. Of course, what panel you land on depends on the dice...

F) First party healing assist trophy
1620613699031.png

Mr. Mendel & Ms. Blossom (StreetPass Mii Plaza: Flower Town)
(Note that, if preferable, this could easily be just Mr. Mendel on his own.)
History: Flower Town sees the player working to grow a variety of flowers to complete their collection and build a beautiful garden. Through StreetPass, you have other players water your flowers and cross-pollinate theirs and yours to get seeds for new flowers. Mr. Mendel is the player's mentor, teaching them how to best grow and arrange flowers. Ms. Blossom is the owner of Flower Power, a flower shop where the flower goes to fulfill people's requests for flowers that fit whatever circumstances they're under.
Gameplay: Mr. Mendel and Ms. Blossom will each throw two flower pots onto random spots on the stage, from which flowers quickly bloom and emit soothing scents that gradually heal damage (like the Healing Field item). Flowers can be damaged to destroy them prematurely so opponents can't use them.

G) First party assist trophy that also attacks the summoner
1620615102633.png

Octohurler (Splatoon 2)
History: The Octohurler debuted in Splatoon 2 as enemies for the "Octo Canyon" single-player mode, particularly as a new way to grapple with the concept of Rolonium.
Gameplay: The Octohurler stays rooted in place and throws bundles of Rolonium forward. They roll along the ground and explode on contact with a fighter or a vertical surface, causing damage and covering any fighters hit in ink. After throwing one bundle, it will turn around and pause briefly before throwing another bundle. This pattern keeps going until the Octohurler despawns.
The Octohurler is immune to damage, with one exception. If a fighter hits a bundle of Rolonium with a single powerful attack, the bundle is launched in the direction the fighter was attacking at higher speeds, causing its explosion to do more damage. Launching the Rolonium back into the Octohurler is the only way to damage it; if hit in this way three times, it gets splatted and its time is cut short.

Also, does "first party character that debuted on the Nintendo 64" mean the character debuted on the console or their game/franchise debuted there?

Catagory B

Shy Guy is somewhat like the Goomba of the Yoshi universe. He will wonder around the stage like how he will in Yoshi's Island and Mario Bros 2, but if you cause him damage he will do one of the following things:
Throw Dice at random players
Swing a bat at players nearby
Hop in a kart and drive back and forth across the stage(not available on Mario Circuit)
Hit Tennis balls at players

Catagory D:
Timmy and Tommy:

Timmy and Tommy would function kinda like Isabelle did in Smash 4 but with a twist. They would put up a giant for sale sign and start spawning healing and non harmful items such as bunny hoods and metal boxes around them. Once they leave the stage the props disappear but the items remain on stage

Catagory A:

Paper Mario

I was actually kinda shocked Paper Mario debuted on the N64. Thought for sure he was later. Anyways, Paper Mario would show up and bust out his hammer to attack players. PM would use most of his hammer attacks from the game, including quake hammer and hammer spin, and would also travel the stage using some transformations, such as turning into a paper airplane to fly to the opposite side. Sometimes(but not too often) he will jump into a box and spawn a Mega Star, then turning into a giant 8 bit Mario and running back and forth across his platform, knocking back and damaging players.

Catagory F
Mercades - Fire Emblem 3 Houses

In her student form obviously, Mercedes is one of the basically default healers in the game. She casts, well, heal on the player when she shows up and then disappears. I think Mercedes should get a spot in Smash because 3 Houses was a massive success and at least so far I don't believe any of the students are repped in infinite yet

C - F-Zero Assist Trophy

Jody Summer

Jody Summer | F-Zero Facts Wiki | Fandom

Jody Summer is a combat-machine pilot affiliated with the Galactic Space Federation. Her ability is highly regarded, and she is recognized as a hero by both her peers and superiors. For these reasons, she was chosen as the spokesperson for the Federation. When summoned, she'll use many of the same moves as Captain Falcon does as a character, kicking and punching opponents with flames.

F - Healing Assist Trophy

Mia

Mia | Golden Sun Universe | Fandom

Mia is a Mercury Adept and a playable character in Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. She is one of several mage-style Mercury Adepts in the series (the other being her son), and is probably the only Adept that can be labeled the "designated healer" to the player's party. When summoned, she will heal the player that summoned her using the Wish Psynergy series from the Golden Sun series, which are some of the most potent and effective healing spells available in the Golden Sun games.

B - Yoshi Assist Trophy

Kamek

Kamek - Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia

Kamek is an arch enemy of Yoshi and a major antagonist throughout many Yoshi's Island games, frequently plotting to kidnap the Baby Mario bros. He also makes several appearances throughout the Mario series as well. When summoned, he will cast various spells on opponents, inflicting status elements such as flower, poison, or shrinking the opponents.

H - Mii Costume repped Assist Trophy

Saki

Saki Amamiya

Saki Amamiya made his first appearance in Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth. Alongside his companions Airan Jo and Achi, Saki is a member of the "Savior Group" that intends to take down a government agency in Japan called the "Armed Volunteers"; along the way, the group also has to protect civilians from the "Ruffians", a species of creatures that mutated from an genetically-modified alternative food source.

Throughout the game, Saki's weapon of choice, as well as Airan's, is the Dolphin Gun. In addition to acting as a long-range firearm that can potentially lock onto enemies, Saki can also use the Dolphin Gun to form an energy weapon that can slash enemies not unlike a sword. Through proper use of the weapon, he can also nullify some enemies projectiles. Saki himself is also physically fit, and is able to do flips and rolls while avoiding enemy fire.

Saki returns as an Assist Trophy after being cut from Ultimate. His behavior as an AT will be essentially the same as in Brawl and Smash 4, using the aforementioned Dolphin Gun to attack opponents.

D: Tom Nook (This could also count as G)
Tom Nook is the funder of your Island/CIty/ whatever else I've only really played New Horizons.
When summoned, Tom Nook rains bells down on the stage. Walking over the bells collects them, and hitting or KOing an enemy will make them drop some bells(so basically it's coin battle). After a certain amount of time(probably like 15-20 seconds), the player with the most bells is healed 1% for each collected bell. Everyone else gets instantly pitfalled.

E: Zeke & Pandoria
These 2 (and Turters) are the Jessie and James of Xenoblade. They later join Rex's party.
When summoned, Pandoria will throw Zeke the sword and yell out for Zeke to do his Super-Ultra-Mega move. Zeke will oblige, using Bringer of Chaos: Ultimate Lighting Fury Slash, instantly KOing any enemies hit by it. This move takes forever to cast, because this is Zeke we're talking about here.

For a visual of this move and Zeke's personality as a whole, please refer to the video below. It should drop you right at the part where he uses the move.

B: Kamek
Kamek is the main magikoopa, and one of Bowser's main minions

Kamek flies and around the stage, shooting spells at random nearby enemies

Fire: Does a decent amount of knockback and damage
Green Shells: Shoots green shells. They are treated as the item green shells
Telekentic: If an item is nearby, Kamek might throw it. Kamek can't throw summoning items, fairy bottles, smash balls, and transformation items.
Easter Egg: Kamek will never aim at Bowser or Bowser Jr, regardless of who summoned him. They can still be hit if they walk in the way of a spell/flying object. If the only fighters in the match are Bowser/Jr, he won't show up.

A

02

Once summoned 02 appears far into the background exactly like how it does in Kirby 64

It starts by shooting out a volley of exploding projectiles onto the stage

it then grows a spike out the bottom of itself and the exploding projectiles transform into a volley of large green orb projectiles that are fired at the stage.

C

Deathborn

The Evil Emperor himself. He will walk menacingly across the stage and may do one of 3 moves

Black Hole - Deathborn will put his hand up and summon a black hole that draws in fighters and items. this black hole also does damage whilst in it.

Death Punch - Deathborn will charge up a punch filled with malice and will then unleash it, those hit have their controls flipped and are poisoned

Underworld Rage - Deathborn will caused burning rocks to fall from the sky

Before Deathborn leaves he enters his vehicle the Dark Shcneider and will then drive off screen dealing massive damage to those hit by the machine or it's exhaust.

E

Jin

This is another assist that will walk around stage, he will slash with his sword and then may do one of 3 arts

Stunned Swallow - He will spin his sword around slowly, stunning everyone next to him

Ultraslash - He performs 2 powerful slashes forwards

Chillstroke - He stabs forwards and then performs a slash that freezes opponents

G

The Dark Lord

The Dark Lord is from Miitopia and it will hover in the background taunting you the whole time

All of it's attack affect everyone including the summoner

Nightmare - It deals damage and causes a player to sleep

Rockslide - A bunch of rocks fall from the sky that deal damage

Face Steal - The Darklord will steal a players face, The face texture would be unique for each character on the roster, those who have had their face stolen will not be able to do anything except for run around, The running animation is a special panicked run animation.

The Dark Lord's face is determined from any of the Miis that are on the host's console.

Category D (Animal Crossing)
Redd

Redd is a shopkeeper debuted in Animal Crossing for the GameCube, he is a rival to Tom Nook who have been established to be a former business partner. As shopkeeper he runs a shady shop that sells overpriced and often counterfeit paintings and sculpture usually revealed when you tried to donate them to the museum or selling them. He also sometimes sells you fireworks in his own booth near the Town Hall

When summoned he will set up a booth and offered the player who summoned them items that amplify their effect: weapon items deal double the damage, healing items heals more (with the exception of Maxim Tomato and Heart Container) etc. by approaching him or bypass him. If the opposing enemy try to approach he will also give them items too but with a catch that there's a high chance that it will give you item that appear to look normal or similar but downright useless. This is applied to every item in Smash with the exception of item-spawning item, to make it simple all the items is easily breakable with some could only be used once (This probably going to led to the creation of a new item).
Category C (F-Zero)
Digi- Boy

Terry Getter better known as Digi-Boy is one of the playable pilot in F-Zero GX, he is considered a genius at operating basically any digital devices and even invented some by his own despite being at a young age. The reason for his participation in the F-Zero race is to prove if his machine that he built based on his simulation after analyzing past races is true. Oh, also in the Japanese version during an interview he is said to not believe in God, what a based guy.

As an Assist Trophy all of his ability will be fairly original basing it off of interest in technology. when being summoned he start intensely analyzes the whole match with holographic screen appearing around him which is based on his Ending, the more screen shows up means that he is close to done charging which involve him creating a shockwave around his radius after deploying his drone which follow the summoner and paralyze nearby enemies.
1620625495387.png
Category F (Healing AT)
Helper Monkey

Helper Monkeys are a race of helpful primate introduce in Jungle Beat, like the name implied they as a guide for DK and often appeared throughout the level assisting him.

When being summoned they appear in a group of six before scattering everywhere throwing bananas.

Yoshi's four legged friend would be interesting to see in Smash as a fighter due to not having many animal fighters which would be nice to see.

G: Nibbla
Nibbla.png

One of the enemies from Donkey Kong, this fish will swim around following you and biting opponents. However if it gets slowly hungry for too long, it turns red and starts attacking the summoner.

C: Bio-Rex
32067.png

Most people would go with Black Shadow so Ganondorf can get a new moveset, I think playing as a bipedal racing dino would be pretty epic!
(I picture him having electrokinesis aka electric powers)

H: Koopa Troopa
Koop.png

One of Bowser's many minions, this shelled foe appears on the stage summoned and retreats into his shell spinning into fighters and sliding around fast, he's kind of easy to defeat but can put up a good fight.

A) Wave Racers
Ryota, Dave, Ayumi, and Miles all speed along the stage, occasionally jumping as waves magically appear during their jumps. They primarily ran into players as they move forward.

C) Pico

Pico will wield dual energy pistols and will fire them when opponents are close to him but will resort to a sniper rifle when on the far edges of the stage. His sniping track is excellent and can track opponents movements before firing a blast off. Due to being a space turtle, his back protects him from any damage.

D) Wilbur

Wilbur will appear in the Dodo Airlines seaplane and will fly at the top of the screen back and forth. Anyone who makes contact will either be meteor smashed or launched into the air when they make contact.

H) Chibi-Robo

Chibi-Robo will run about the stage while brushing it with a toothbrush. Each push will knock the opponent back. If an opponent gets to far, it uses its Zip Lash to grab the opponent and bring them back closer to Chibi. It then continues to polish the stage with the toothbrush

Here is my next assist idea

New Assist: Pigma

1620665247797.png

Debuting in Star Fox 64, Pigma will shoot his blaster at his opponents. In addition to this, he will go into a Wolfen and fire what he can before leaving the scene. He can be KOed in his first stage and if you do, his ship will be seen flying away in the background. But if he goes into his second stage, he cannot be KOed, as the Wolfen is in the background.

Category E: Zeke & Pandoria - Xenoblade Chronicles 2

XC2-Zeke-and-Pandoria-arwork.png

Zeke von Genbu, Bringer of Chaos otherwise known as the Zekenator and his trusty sparkling Blade, Pandoria arrive on the scene. Zeke merely has one attack he will use, Ultimate Lightning Fury Slash Max! Zeke will leap into the air as Pandoria cheers him on and then bring it down onto the ground launching everyone in the attack very far and even causing the ground to be momentarily be imbued with electrical terrain.

Category F: Mallow - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

SMRPG_Mallow_Artwork.png

When Mallow appears, he will begin to cry causing the entire stage to be coated in rain. While it is raining, everyone not taking shelter under a platform or a ceiling will slowly take damage. After Mallow stops crying, he will cast a spell to heal the summoner if they are close enough to him.

Category G: Guardian - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Guardian_Artwork.png

The fearsome Guardian from BOTW emerges. The Guardian however does not see friend or foe, it merely sees itself and all between it. The Guardian will continuously fire deadly laser beams from its eyes as its mechanical parts click, slowly trudging along the ground. Yes, because of its function, Ganondorf will also be seen as a threat in the Guardian. Sorry King of Darkness, no nepotism for you.

Category H: Itsuki Aoi - Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

For the record, TMS is produced by Nintendo and developed by Atlus. It's no more third party than Age of Calamity as far as I'm aware. Anyway, Itsuki will come out and slash his sword across the stage while moving swiftly. Occasionally, he may call out his partner Chrom to use the Zio skill and summon lightning bolts around the field.

LAST MINUTE SUBMISSIOOOOOOOOOON

Assist Category H: Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan
1219.png

1217.png

OK, so the EBA/Ouendan were the main protagonists of a series of DS rhythm games: consisting of a cheer squad that came in to help people in their hour of need, whatever the situation may be. Interestingly enough, they actually changed the cheer squad's designs, name and members in the localization, but unlike a lot of cases of this happening, the localized versions wound up being even more beloved than the OGs and are celebrated in Smash as well!

So when they're summoned out, they'll start doing what they do best: dancing. This can give the summoner any number of status upgrades: whether they become faster, stronger or more resistant. In addition, if they do really well - let's say they manage to land 3 Smash Attacks in this state, for example - a bubble with one of the Agents/Ouendan shouting will come in from the side, cover a good bit of the screen, and damage anyone in its way.

Why include them? First of all, they're perfect for the Assist role. The games are still fondly-remembered among hardcore Nintendo fans, as well. I also wanted to submit them for the retro assist job, but they missed the requirement by a single year.

As for the whole deal with how will we choose which one appears, I considered having it depend on the language the game is set to, but ultimately I went with another idea - let's say that, besides the Assist Toggle's main purpose, if you go to the EBA/Ouendan in it, aside from deciding if they appear at all, it's also here that you can choose which one of the two appears: this also applying to Training Mode.

Category H: Ray Mk. III (returning assist trophy)

Returning from Brawl after an absence in Smash 4 and Ultimate, Ray Mk III returns with the same function as he did in Brawl. The little robot will fly around the stage, firing lasers and occasionally explosive blasts. Custom Robo

Adeleine & Ribbon

From the Kirby Series, Adelein & Ribbon would make their smash debut as an assist trophy. Somehow they both went without a spirit in Ultimate despite being one of the most popular Kirby characters, but we've managed to rectify that injustice. We've also managed to add a lot of modern Kirby content through Bandana Dee and Galacta Knight, although the Dark Matter Trilogy could still use some more representation, and Adeleine & Ribbon would be perfect for that role, appearing in both Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64.

Adeleine would use one of her abilites from her role as a dream friend in Kirby Star Allies; Al Fresco:

Food items would appear after Adeline paints a picture of the Kirby 64 easel.

Before all the food is eaten, Ribbon will fly it over to you one at a time if you are far away, kissing you to deliver the food just like in the Kirby Series.

Meanwhile, Adeleine will run while flailing her paintbrush, inking the opponent and dealing minor damage, since she is quite weak in Star Allies. Once all the food is eaten or enough time has passed they will despawn.

Doshin The Giant
1620691416752.png

Doshin would be relatively unobstructive at first, merely walking around the stage, and bending over to use his hands as a platform which fighters can stand on. However if the opponent attacks him, even once, then he will turn into Jashin the Giant and slam his arms around on the stage. due to his size its quite a hard attack to avoid, and will deal hearty damage, so its best to wait until he despawns, rather than try to attack him. I tried to encapsulate the peaceful nature of his game, while also maintaining the dark side that hides beneath the surface. He was also a trophy in Melee so its about time he got a bigger role.

I got a couple of submissions. Working on them right now.

A) King Bomb-omb (Mario)

King Bomb-omb debuted in Mario 64. When summoned, he will start to chuck his loyal subjects around at fighters near him. He is unable to jump to another platform, but he will walk back and forth on the platform he is summoned on. He takes more damage when he is attacked from behind.

D) Wisp
Ghost.png

When Wisp first appears, he will be startled by being summoned. He will split apart into several spirits which scatter across the stage. After some time has passed, he will teleport back to the player who summoned him, fully whole and present the summoner with an capsule.

G) Ryoma and Xander (Fire Emblem Fates)

Unlike most assist trophies, these two will focus on attacking each other. When summoned, the other will appear on a random spot of the stage, and the two of them will make their way towards each other, ready to duke it out. Any fighter that stands in their way will be attacked, even the summoner. You only need to defeat one of them however, as when their opponent is defeated, the remaining of the two tosses a longsword in that direction to the fighter that did the KO.
(I just double checked and realized that Ryoma was a summon in the Breidablik.)

H) Monita (Nintendo Land)
Monita_Spirit.png

I never said Monita appeared on the Nintendo Land stage. Well, that's cause I thought about her being an Assist Trophy, mostly cause I imagine she could be a revamped version of Brawl's Mr. Resetti. When she is summoned, a semi transparent light blue text box appears above the screen. She introduces herself and gives a little bit of history regarding the stage that is currently being played on.
