Sellers are held to alot higher accountability on ebay in comparison to buyers. Sellers also tend to get ****ed over in the event of a fraudulent buyer attempting to purchase things from them. Buyers leave "feedback" and "detailed seller ratings" or 'DSR''s for short based on how they feel the transaction went. Feedback percentage is calculated on an average of all the feedback left for every transaction a seller has ever done. Anyone who has below 96% postive feedback is usually not going to be selling many things because people feel sketchy buying from them.explain adam
Say you just happen to get one of the many *******s on ebay purchasing something from you. It's your 20th transaction (because you're a newer seller) and your current feedback is 100% positive. This guy, you wrap his item nicely, you deliver it AHEAD of time, and answer all his questions. He's a ****, and can/will leave you negative feedback for any reason he sees fit. Your feedback % is now 95% and now everyone who began to trust this newer seller with 100% feedback is thinking how sketch it would be to buy something from this person because of one ****ing ******* who decided to go and **** it all up.
Any time a dispute arises, buyers can file either one of two 'disputes'. An "Item Not Received" dispute, or a,.... **** I can't remember the name of the other one. Either way, Ebay and paypal work together and if a buyer claims ANYTHING went wrong, money can be held in limbo in an instant and sometimes for a VERY long time until the dispute is settled. In the event that the seller can prove anything to go in their favor, the buyer ultimately wins, having left a poor mark on the sellers track record, consequently destroying the sellers online business.
All I can say is just don't sell on ebay. Buying is okay.
