It's to the point where this warrants its own topic. I will continue to post results & the like in the Competitive Impression topic, but a public database is necessary. I have my Word files saved to a Cloud, but it's not worth the time or effort for most to dig through threads for tourney results or google docs containing bulk results. Henceforth, this will be the primary database.

The goal of this thread is to both document tournament results that fit the established criteria and to score characters based off of their placing, resulting in a results-based "tier"* list.
*Not actual tiers and not intended to be definitive character placements, just data-based results.

1BB: CRITERIA (Updated January 1st, 2017)
-Tournaments should preferably have notable entrants from a given region. Under new categorization rules, entrant numbers aren't exclusionary,they simply reduce the length of the bracket that's being counted.
-Few/no weeklies, as they present too much inflation. A good way to compare my system to one with weeklies would be to advanced search the character rankings on Smashboards' database, starting from the most recent patch date. Certain weeklies like Xanadu will occasionally be an exception, depending on attendees.
1CC: CATEGORIZATION & SCORING (Updated January 1st, 2017)
Tournaments are placed into one of five categories, with each following placement decreasing in value. E.g.: Category 2 tournaments have 6 points awarded to first place, 5 points to second, and so on until the number hits 1.
Category 1 = Top 4 counted (1-4 Points)
Category 2 = Top 8 counted (1-6 Points)
Category 3 = Top 16 counted (1-8 Points)
Category 4 = Top 32 Counted (3-12 Points)
Category 5 = Top 64 Counted (5-16 Points)
Secondaries are counted at half value. One example: If a player using Meta Knight as their primary places first at a Category 2 tournament with Donkey Kong as their secondary, Meta Knight gets 6 points while Donkey Kong gets three.
Tournies are listed as follows:
(Name) (Date) (Location) (Entrants) (Category)
<Top 64, Top 32, Top 16, Top 8, or Top 4 depending on category>
1DD: ORDERING
Tournies will be kept in spoiler folders, each separated by regions that I have mapped out.
UNITES STATES OF AMERICA REGION MAP:

All tournies' locations will be listed as one of these regions if the tournament was hosted in the U.S. or Canada. Other countries will simply have their country name.
