My fellow Smashers. We are on the verge of a new beginning. And as this year comes to a close, let us remember where we have come from. Winter 2001 was a time when we were small in number. And now, at the close of 2007, we have grown larger than any other existing fighting game community. We are hardcore. We are competitive. And we are casual. The variety of people and play that we represent is a testament to the strength of the Super Smash Brothers series. And with Brawl on the horizon, let us put away Melee’s final year in true form and proper order.<!--more-->

When news of Brawl’s delay hit us on October 12, we all had to put aside what we wanted for what we needed. Brawl wasn’t finished, and as much as we would have liked for the game to come out at the start of what would have been the greatest Christmas break in history, we know that a polished game will do more for us in the long run.

So let us not make Sakurai and Team’s efforts go unappreciated. Let us not repeat our Melee mistakes. In our fledgling state, we have done smash a great disservice. Both us, the community, and Sakurai. Melee was rushed, and the balance wasn’t entirely existent. After the game launched, we had to take the game into our own hands. They say, Sakurai built Smash Brothers, but we made Melee. Yet, in our haste to bring order to chaos we have foolishly cut too much out of our gaming experience. Levels. Modes. And what pains me the most, items. Though legitimate reasons for their exclusion may exist, Brawl is a new game. Let us not carry the restrictive weight of the last six years into the next.

New times call for new practices. New minds. We need to separate ourselves from the automated automatic mentalities of our past. What better way than a physical separation. In about a month and a week, we’ll have Brawl; the game that will catapult us through the next 6 years of battles, bonds, and betrayals. Though I can’t ask you to stop playing what is perhaps your favorite game for an entire month, I can ask you to start fresh, and to do whatever it takes to make that happen. To represent the change I wish to see in the world, I will personally put Melee down until Brawl for the new year.

If you are to ban anything for Brawl, ban your grudges. Ban your lust for money. Ban your prejudices for stock amounts, tournament rules, and controller types. Brawl and the community that will follow, will be unlike anything you’ve experience with Smash. We’re working hard to create a system that takes advantage of these past 6 years of mistakes. Trust your leaders to make the best decisions for the good of us Super Smash Brothers BrAll.

It sounds like the kind of speech a grizzled general would give in a war movie. It's very inspirational.

Onward, comrades! Onward to victory!

It's the calm before the storm right now. No new info, no updates for a little while but then were going to get everything all at once. We're going to read it over and over it we memorize it backwards. Just wait. Good post thought makes me even more excited about brawl.

For me, alas, the wait is significantly longer than a month.

Let's see...one, two, three, four, five...

The sweet, sweet land of sweet, sweet, chocolate,
three hurai's for the world's most inspirational speech ever!!
-1) Hurai!
-2) Hurai!
-3) Hurai!
well, after that let's treat that speech with respect and by that I mean that that sakurai created smash (thank God that he did) , but we can make the game and all it's aspects better than anyone alse could, so that we make this game the best and most variational, inovative, and splendid game ever, and let's do that all together! -AMEN-

and if someone disagrees, let's all who agrees shoot the non-believer in the head together. -AMEN AGAIN-

Amazing post. Kinda gets me tinking. I still play with Items from time to time, and mostly not with Items, but it still makes me think alot. bReminds me of the time I stopped playing Pokemon Sapphire untill I got Diamond. Only this situation is much bigger. All in all Great post Kirbykid.

Let this be a testament not only in the Smash world, but in life as well. Having prejudices and limiting oneself to specific standards and paradigms is bad in itself, but to carry them over to other elements of life is even worse. Play with an open mind, people.

dude its just a game man lol ... you need a girlfriend
Tha's my brothah! W00t, yeah, you da man, homie!

Nah, seriously [not], I don't know this guy from Adam, get away from me.

No, more seriously [not], that was, like... inspirational... at first... But I draw the line at banning crap because a disc is about to be distributed throughout Wal-Marts, Best Buys, Targets, Toys'R'Uses, etc. across the lands spread over the seven seas, matey! and such, albeit a very anticipated game. But, I also anticipate my times of nostalgia, thank you very much. I'm going to continue enjoying my Melee, and, yes, even my SSB64. I anticipate recalling ye olde days of lore when dragons roamed the earth and maidens were distressed and it was cool for guys to wear entirely shiny outfits the good ol' days. I anticipate my pumpkin pie, my MP3 player, my li'l ol' '98 Isuzu Hombre, my moolah, my Polaroid, my milk, goshdurnitt! I can't ban my ever-lovin' milk ye fools! You cannot keep me from my milk! Aye, but ye may face ultimate consequences ne'er pondered before should ye volly to thief my precious leche! (I italicized that 'cause that's what you're s'pposed to do with them furreign words. seE i didtoo pay, 'tention ta my engrish teechr.)

BACK AWAY! BACK AWAY! I BITE! I BITE! RAWF!

Okay... sorry 'bout that. My, uh, *cough* other personality kicked me in the crotch and took over while I was down...

......Um....... me cann0t wait 4 t3h Smash Brawl g4me for to com out! w00t!

There, I ended it with a typical response, just like a good, li'l newb lamb. :p

Ah, so now's when we start speculating about the next smash game, eh?

And by speculating, I must mean complaining, because that's the gist of what's been going on.

I find it strange that everyone is ***-kissing his post, when we get topics like this all the time in General Brawl Discussion and the OP is almost always flamed for it :/
Everyone? Sheesh, man, talk about generalizing. Didn't I just see someone call it "gay?"

Besides, I very diplomatically disagreed with some points within Kirbykid's lugubrious speech of platitude. And no, I didn't get the dictionary...

So, yeah, to indicate what an intelligent human being I am, I shall promote drug safety... and alcohol responsibility... and abstinence... and wearing-your-helmet safety... tomorrow. :tired:

That was so freakin' beautiful KK. *Sniff* I'm...I'm sorry, I'm getting emotional...

On the plus side, if Wikipedia isn't lying (Which I suspect it is) the Australian Date of release is March 9!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._Brawl

EDIT:
Just as I thought, it was a joke. Taken down just then. Sorry if any Australian's got too happy. :(
