I just did the exact opposite of perfect shielding: I let my shield down right as ridley was about to hit me.

When I was playing this game and its modes, I wanted to beat it all too

I tried for a while to beat intense mode in boss battles

Eventually I did it...

I thought I would do it with Sonic or Marth...

...I did it with Fox :lick:

the most random unexpected character for me to do well with LOL

Black sabbath=kick***

They invented metal, and thats a fact.

I also find it ironic that you're calling them overrated.

Yes, they are overrated. Even if they did invent it, doesn't mean they are the best, or even near the best at what the made. A number of bands came along and were infinitely superior in that genre. Just because they may be the original, doesn't make the good.

Listening to them is like scratching a chalkboard.

Does that make them overrated? No.

That must be the greatest sounding chalkboard ever.

In terms of how much that band is celebrated and talked about. And how often I hear on the radio. They don't deserve it. Iommi is NOT, I repeat, is NOT talented...er wasn't.

EDIT: Bold Statement, but I stand by it

How is iommi not talented?! And I never hear them on the radio, and they're talked about because they invented metal.

If they invented or revolutionized it, they deserve it.

Personally, I'm not the biggest Pink Floyd fan. I enjoy some of their songs, but I can appreciate and respect what they did for music. I used to think they were overrated, but after learning some of their history... I think they're great.

I know nothing of Black Sabbath btw.

Iommi could do one thing: riff. Riff's are cool and all, but there is more to the guitar than just riffing.

EDIT: Playing on-beat for example. I am sorry, but just because the riff itself may sound cool, if it doesn't fit what the other band members are doing, it tells me you have next to no musical ear. That is music 101, keeping the beat.

EDIT2: Having a musician play this great solo or riff or whatever isn't true talent to me. Given enough time, anybody can learn a how to play a song, or a portion of song. That takes some skill but that's not what is admirable to me. My girlfriend's 14 year old sister plays the guitar and can play a ****-ton of things on the guitar. So to hear a 14 year old do these things that the greats can do tells me that the real talent lies somewhere else.

The real talent is to have musical ear that can receive musical information, from other band members who are doing their things, and then able to create something that matches what they are playing. The ability to create AND be inspired from something AT the same time, all in a moments notice AND doing it over and over and over again for lengths of time...that is real talent. And that is something Black Sabbath couldn't do. Their live shows were just noise. You are hearing several band members operate separately instead of in harmony with each other, while they are still discovering and creating new things. Creating these new melodies and portions of songs, off-hand, and still have it be in unison...that is true talent. Black Sabbath couldn't do that. A lot of bands can't do that.

They invented metal. That's great. And they deserve their place in history. But as far as being a good band. Nah

Iommi can do more than just riff. Ever heard of a "guitar solo"?

Also, you failed to specify how black sabbath does not create AND inspire AND do it over and over.

Only people with HTML privileges can do that. Regular users don't have HTML privileges, so they can't do it, but moderators and other staff members can.
