How many units do you guys think I should have maxed out/highly trained by the endgame then?
I was thinking/hope for about 17+Chrom.

For me personally, I tend to have a playstyle where I only have a few units to advance toward the map where the rest of the (hopefully) competently trained soldiers stay towards the back to prevent/deal with enemy reinforcement so I only had about 8 highly trained units, Chrom not being one of them. If you don't play like that though I imagine you can get away with about 14, including Chrom.

(Un)Fortunately(?), I was laughably OP by the time I decided to fight Priam, and basically mowed everyone down with about half (or less even) the max. unit count; I mostly attributed this for wanting to clear all the DLC maps before I got to the spotpass chapters, which I should've done first in hindsight.

I've never fought Priam.

In fact, I don't even remember what units in my current save file are broken besides Robin, and to a lesser extent Lucina. Maybe Morgan, but she's underlevelled.

I might try it someday.

It's going to be a Sonic/Pokemon crossover where you have to catch Sonic characters to battle with.

Their roster, while massive, isn't Pokemon massive, so they padded the 251 catch-able characters with several hundred Sanic OCs.

In my personal experience - archers, mages, heavily-armored units, and critmongers. These are what you worry about; if you can handle them without complaint the remainder can be cleaned up without much consequence.

The minimum number of units you need to cover those four is the minimum number of units you need to field.

In all honesty a maxed-out Chrom and Robin, used efficiently, can probably clear out everything in the game on their own.

As for me, I am now in Chapter 16 of Frederick Emblem and moving forward at a rapid clip. Chrom has been promoted through Great Lord and is now a Paladin, while Frederick has cycled through Paladin to General.

Pardon me now, I have to see a man about a mustache.

Anyway, Eight Melodies (the M1 version) is probably my favorite EB tune period, though I've found myself listening to Pokey Means Business a lot lately. Why didn't we get it in SSB yet?

So I'm doing a Normal/Classic run in Awakening since I've never actually beaten the game in Classic (that I can remember) and I haven't played the game in ages so I figured why not.
It took me forever and decide on an avatar though, but ultimately this is what I chose:

Build 3 Master Race.

I agree about the cleavage thing, but I adore the idea of a tall female Robin for some reason. And no, I'm not tall- I'm as short as Ricken. Though incidentally, she also has my favorite hairstyles. Build 1 is probably my least favorite hair wise- I only really like the classic pigtails and the ponytail one (though she does have that awesome expression with the tiara marking).

The reason for playing a game with a higher difficulty is a more engaging and satisfying experience. Back in the day we didn't have stuff like achievements or nude costume unlocks for beating the game with increased difficulty (Samus stripped down doesn't count). If it's one thing to have a general social culture that is more and more pushing self-entitlement into the youth, it's worse to have games try to infer a harder play experience should mean greater reward, because the whole reason why you play that game is the reward of a fun experience. For some of us, we play with harder difficulty because it's way more satisfying to overcome hardships that are actually hard. For others, they can't relax if they feel something is too difficult so they stick with easy difficulties. Both camps are fine.

Games that give you absolutely nothing at all for beating the game on a harder difficulty are just fine, to me.

Of course, one must be reasonable. If added difficulty effectively takes features out of the game or has fake difficulty (Lunatic+), then yeah it's bugger and just a worse experience and you may as well play Mario Party if you want dice rolls to have such a massive consequence on your success. That aside, if the core experience is still the same, personally I rather play all my games on the hardest difficulty on my first go.

FE:A does show your difficulty on your card, so if you beat, say, Lunatic/Classic, it'll show that you did it there with a star for those who streetpass you.

The first time I tried Priam, I had the floor wiped with me, but after working on some builds (mainly completing Robin's and Laurent's), the Paralogue was a joke. I managed to beat it with just Robin/Chrom, Laurent/Lucina, and Morgan/Cynthia.

Unless you really grind, Priam is a real B**tard. Especially on Lunatic, I ended up having to grind nearly all of my units to the highest level to even stand a chance. Getting him was totally worth it though, because relative.

Yes Priam was the most difficult to fight against really only because he has like the largest army of promoted units you will ever encounter. Even my Lucina had some problems but being the monster she is, she crushed anyone in her way(not unscatterd though because of bad luck), took on a full health Priam who had the nerve to activate his Luna skill and showed him afterward who the real fighting monster is.

On a serious note you can choose your main file either based on the harder difficulty you would always like to play, the amount of galeforce characters, the most optimal pairings or the amount of pairings you liked the most story wise. Otherwise I can't help you.

Same with here. I'm decent at writing scenes or descriptions, but my characters tend to be lacking (though in RPs in the past I've managed to develop them, but that's when I have a lot of people to bounce them off of).
