I am 85% on #TeamReal for this one.
Over at the Leaks group, we're under the assumption that the reason they can't select Rayman is because they got a patch before its release.

There's still a chance it's fake, but I mean, come on.

Man, I just got back from work to this.

I have to say that I would welcome Rayman with open arms, only because he's up there as someone I'd like to see in Smash. I was kinda miffed that he only a trophy in the game, I mean really? You're not going to do much else with him Ubisoft/Nintendo/Namco/Sora? He's my most hyped DLC character if real, and it gives me hope that they might do more.

My top Zeldas are Wind Waker and Twilight Princess; don't really care about the rest at all.

When it comes to fighters, characters you like, unless they are the Marios or the Ryus, have no guarantee of returning. I was ready to lose Robin from the moment before she was even revealed.... But no matter what, I'll still remember the character and the games she has appeared in fondly.

I'll remember Robin better than I'll ever remember Roy. >.>

If only the guilty gear fans, myself included, were mentally prepared to see practically half the cast cut in GGXRD. *Sees Dizzy in story mode but not on the css* Why, Arcsys, why?!

Here's the number one reason I think this leak MIGHT be true:
Releasing Mewtwo, and only Mewtwo as a single DLC character without anything else just doesn't seem right with Nintendo's DLC releases so far.
Mario Kart, FE: Awakening and Hirule Warriors all had:
- DLC Packs
- More than one DLC/Option to acquire multiple DLCs at a lower price point
- DLC distributed over a longer timeframe

While all those aren't guarantees that Smash won't get a single, one character DLC, it seems kind of odd, doesn't it? I actually had that thought even before the leak.
Keeping a probably sizable team under employment for just one character and the occational balancing patch? Just doesn't seem right with the way Nintendo has handled DLC so far.
Of course, my hopes where more for the return of Snake and Wolf (since they where both my most played characters alongside Ike and Pokémon Trainer) but Rayman seems like a logical conclution with his (and other Rayman characters') kind of out of place introduction as trophys.

And who knows? As soon as we get confirmed DLC alongside of Mewtwo, there's always the chance for more.
I would love if we got the weirdly absent (Golden Sun) Isaac.
If we could get Shovel Knight with alt colours that resemble Scrooge Mc Duck or Shantae.
If we could get characters that are totally out there, just waiting to join in.
If the game was supported, changed and improved for years on end, keeping it fresh for years to come.
If new game modes like the sorely missed Adventure mode where implemented months, years later.
If Masahiro Sakurai could actually say: "Smash 4 was my final game in the series, as I always wanted. And I made the fans, both casual and competetive, love it for 10 years before I finally had to give up the mantle for a sequel."

But don't mind me. I'm just a dreamer.

Honeslty, I've grown to be sceptical of these kinds of things after seeing what some people can do to trick others:

About Robin being taken out, I don't think he may be cut to accomode the Avatar from the new FE game, mostly because Kamui is shown to use only a 2-handed sword, but who knows? maybe our avatar isn't even Kamui, even if the trailer seems to be hinting strongly at that.
Even if Robin does get cut, all we need to do is play Sm4sh to see him
It's still good enough we got him in one Smash bros, and it did wonders to to his and the Fire emblem games in general popularity, so people will surely still remember him.
That's already quite a feat for me, considering he's a character with customizable appearance.
....I'll still miss his gameplay in the next game, but if he does get cut, I'm sure it'll be for a character with a pretty similar gameplay. Otherwise, there's no reason at all to cut him. The Fire emblem series seems to be doing well, so it probably won't end up like the Mother series (Earthbound) and Robin won't be Lucas 2.0, unless they screw up hard in this game.

I missed Zelda dungeon talk. ;-; Along with a bunch of other stuff.
-I loved Skyward Sword. It's my favorite Zelda game in fact. I loved the gameplay, story, graphics, fighting, music, dungeons, and more. Fi is annoying, but she didn't bother me too much.
-Spirit Temple is my favorite Zelda temple because I loved the design and the lore to the place. It also has some of the best puzzles in my opinion. My least favorite is City in the Sky as I find it confusing to navigate and the music is garbage (also, is it just me or can you hear Mario jumping sounds? ...at least you get my favorite Zelda item here, Double Clawshots).
-I am 70% confident the Rayman leak is real, but I will say it's fake until proven otherwise.
-I don't think Robin is getting cut. I think that he is here to stay in Smash. Considering how important Awakening was to the franchise and how Robin has become such a popular newcomer, I wouldn't worry.

Lastly, I played as Robin a little in For Glory and I did surprisingly well as him! Wow... Sometimes I surprise even myself!

If they were to do that and put in that much work, they just as well make a new smash game (which I wouldn't mind because, hey, more smash). Its not like you can just put a smash 4 character in an arbitrarily made melee environment and expect that character to do fine. Heck, if anything, you'd probably make Robin worse and make diddy and sheik even better, which no one wants.

I agree with everything @ The_Cardinal said.

They'd need to drastically rebalance every character in game, so most don't become unplayable. Robin, for example, isn't fit at all to survive in Melee. Rebalancing everything would change their gameplay so much, it would be just better if they made another Smash bros.
and honestly, Sakurai already showed his dislike to Melee. As long as he's involved with SSB, there'll be no more games like Melee, I'm sure of that.

I would bet money that Sakurai will not be Smash 5's director, but that he would be a consultant for the game, and possibly even still a public (read: marketing) figurehead.

Anyway, on Rayman, I'll just say briefly my thoughts- I'm neutral to his inclusion, the selection screen video seems legit but I'm waiting on gameplay or official confirmation, and the congratulations screen is obviously fake by now.

I wasn't in this thread, but I was around. That's good to hear! And I'm super excited for If, since this will be my first FE game I get to play when it first comes out.

I honestly do not care much for leaks. I doubt I would ever use Rayman. He's an alright character but I've never really liked or disliked him. The evidence looks kind of convincing but anyone with the know how and time could pull it off.

I went through all the stores around this area for Wave 3 Amiibos, and for some reason, none of them have it on-shelves; I only managed to get by ordering online and picking it up at the store, like what? I also have to wait an extra week at least for ... and May for I am hoping that I'll be around when and are up, so I can pre-order with *hopefully* no hassle; same for the second shipment of

I've never been able to test that, because there's not many people around I know who owns a 3ds, much less a 3ds+Awakening.
But eh, it looks like I'm not missing anything, then, even though I've always wondered how a SRPG would work agaisnt another person.
Either way, I think FE14 needs to let you fight agaisnt other people online, too.

I've streetpassed a few people with Awakening, but I've never known anyone personally with it, so I've never tried it.

Online fights are a must in If, though.

So how Double Duel works is:
Each player picks three characters to take
Each player chooses a team of AI opponents (each with unique rewards); If the choices are different, it is random.
Each player chooses one character from their team to field, like Pokemon
The two players fight together as a Pair. Not in a map, but just a battle (everything is treated as if it has a range of 1)
Host is the primary character and second player is the supporting, then they switch places for each turn
Clear the enemy team, and you win your prize

I can understand why they don't have a real VS mode (even though Shadow Dragon did), though I wish we could at least fight on a map, taking turns controlling our units. I hope online multiplayer is back in FE14. I wouldn't mind a mode where, instead of using your own characters, one player controls an army from the east while another controls an army from the west. A mode where it's not "who has grinded the most wins" kind of thing.
