Well now I'm glad I said I wasn't 100% on it.

People who do this for attention make me angry, though. Way to get people's hopes up, jerks.

Anyway, leak aside I've been playing Sacred Stones again this time on Hard Mode and it's so jarring after playing Awakening for who knows how long. I am incredibly reckless when playing Awakening that I thought it was okay to leave Joshua in the range of like two mercenaries, an archer, two myrmidons, and a brigand.

On a happier note- I'll add onto the "make up your own FE character" when I'm more awake. I have some ideas, but they aren't fully fleshed out.

I strongly disagree. We learn so much more if it is delayed. We can see how fast people will deteriorate and propagate, and the rapid contamination of false truth. Personally I'd have waited at least a week to see anyone who could clearly prove it was fake, and watch how they get stamped out as a heretic. Come out too soon, there's not enough time to see the magic at work. Come out too late, then people will lose interest unless you can sprinkle occasional information. There are really not enough isolated environments where we can witness psychological stimuli such as this in a short time-frame.
I vaguely recall someone doing something similar a while back with the css during the speculation phase of Smash 4. The person who leaked it admitted he did partially just to see how people would react (both positively and negatively) and then joined the boards a few days later. You'd think people learn how to be slower with their judgments and consider all possibilities but we don't.

Did a quick search and found everyone's characters. This is the one I did.
Lots of folks went and fleshed out their Fire Emblem personifications better, so I'm posting mine again with more detail.

Name: Esmoire
Class: Cleric
Subclass: Knight, Archer
Stats: High HP, decent Def, decent Res, good Spd, lower Mag and Str

Recruitment Conditions: Neutral unit, must survive until end of chapter
Starting Equipment: Heal. Physic, Dracoshield

Profile: A knight who cast off her armour in the pursuit of a life of peace and serenity. While she is a member of clergy, she secretly neither believes nor rebukes the sacred script of the gods. Appears a little solemn on the surface and not much for talk, but she always has a positive mindset and the will to carry on in troubling times.

A left-handed fencer, and the best at that.

Am I the only one who just immediately dismissed the Rayman leak based completely on Nintendo'd current working relationship with Ubisoft?

Ubi's been ****ting it up for a while, why would THEY of all companies, get into Smash.

Rayman isn't even that cool or iconic.

Yeah, but some people there really wanted to believe it to be true, and if they want to believe, they will, even if someone lays out a chart complete with reason as to why it has to be fake. Heck, there are guys saying they'll kill the leaker there, as if it had to be true.
Some of those maybe didn't even know about Ubisoft state.

But yeah, it's true they should've known a little better. It's ok to be excited, but be aware that the chances it could be fake were real. People with superb skills into video making and photoshop exists outside of Nintendo, and they are everywhere in the internet. Someone interested into making this leak just to see the reaction exists.
The world is big like that.

I'm not fond of Ubi's business actions (for every good thing they do they perform 10 colossal **** ups), and they haven't exactly been doing Nintendo favors, but Rayman is fairly iconic in the video game landscape, and I think has had enough presence on Nintendo consoles to justify his inclusion. Assuming the leak is true, which has become much more convincing.

The leak seemed a bit fishy to me for this reason.
I mean... is Nintendo willing forgive Ubisoft by putting Rayman in Smash when they have done things like hold off a release of a game on the Wii U due to poor sales and delay Rayman Legends so they can put it on other consoles?

When it comes to third party characters, I think the character should at least have some sort of history with Nintendo or is near legendary/iconic status.
Rayman isn't on the same caliber as Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man. He doesn't have a massive history with Nintendo nor is he as popular as those three. I think Bomberman and Simon Belmont should get in before Rayman.

Bomberman isn't really that much more iconic than Rayman...at least not here.
Simon Belmont I can get behind though.

The leak isn't true. The "leaker" already posted videos of him making the stuff.

I don't want to get into a massive debate about this, but...
Bomberman has been in numerous upon numerous Nintendo consoles and is by far one of the most loyal third party characters out there. He is a video game icon with a very recognizable design.
He just isn't really requested on here because of Snake and the fact that his series is in a very deep limbo. If Bomberman wasn't owned by Konami, I think more people would be receptive towards his inclusion.

Welp, this was fun...

Name: Ant (prefers to be called that)
Class: Dark Mage
Subclass: Mage/Myrmidon
Stats: Average HP, Low Defense, Average Res, High Speed, High Skill, Above Average Magic, Low Strength, Low Luck
Recruitment Conditions: Neutral unit, come talk to him before he gets swarmed by brigands.
Starting Equipment: Ruin, Concoction

Profile: Born from a family of clerics and monks, he always had a thirst for knowledge which the ancient arts have plenty to satisfy his pursuit. Unfortunately, his family didn't agree with his aspiration for life and tried to convince him otherwise. He got so fed up with it that he quietly left his family to further pursue understanding the dark arts. A sibling of his was allowed to give chase for him and this one in particular resents him for leaving. Is an eager person to learn, but not much for talking due to shyness.

Tends to get lost in thought which really comes back to bite him when he finally realizes the underground library he's exploring is full of bandits and other ruffians. He could really use some help at this moment.

I'm assuming this is if we were a FE character? If not, I can make up an original character as well.

Name: Shay (to try and not make it as blatant)
Class: Troubador
Subclass: Pegasus Knight/Mage
Stats: Decent HP, Res, and Strength. High Magic and Defense. Low Speed and Luck. Average Skill and HP. Starts with a D rank for Staffs.
Recruitment Conditions: Neutral force near a village, talk with anyone to recruit.
Starting Equipment: Mend, Rescue, Vulnerary.
Profile: An awkward but sweet Troubador from a small village, she grew up relatively happily with a supportive family. However, she tends to be a bit clumsy and can daydream when it's least convenient. She also tends to be a bit of a perfectionist and gets upset over small mistakes. However, when she pulls herself together, she can be quite the force. The most protective and loving of animals. Born January 7th.

Troubador and possibly a Peg. Knight/Mage with low speed? I hope you have some amazing defense.
I guess I was thinking more in terms of how I physically am versus what's practical... I think I'll move defense to the high category, then. I almost did that, but I don't want to go the opposite direction and be a game breaker.

EDIT: Also, forgot Res and Defense completely.

Fun fun!

Name: Schemm
Class: Dread Fighter
Subclass: Mage/Myrmidon
Stats: Average HP and Luck, Low Defense and Attack, High Skill and Magic, Good Resistance and Speed.
Recruitment conditions: Make sure none of the allied forces fall.
Starting Equipment: Killing Edge, Elfire, Vulnerary.
Profile: Reserved yet friendly blind man. Lost eyes in a pact with a Dark Mage while young, providing food for his family, but never seeing them again. Learned to 'see' using magic. Trained as a assassin by Dread Fighters because of his low profile. Mental strong, but emotionally weak. Can be a bit unpredictable, but will remain loyal to the bitter end. The most likely to start a long conversation. Born January 31st.

On the subject of leaks: As the guy proved in that video, with time and resources, damn near anything is possible with a computer these days.
On the subject of FE characters: I'll get back to you when I actually get the 3DS to go with this game that I got yesterday. Yeah, I got a 3DS game and no 3DS.

It's some game called "Fire Emblem Awakening". Doubt any of you have heard of it. It's not something you'd all be interested in.

Profile: Solemn and reserved, this aspiring lance-user left the comforts of her family and home to explore the world. May seem uncaring and difficult to maintain a conversation with, but she's mostly a listener and will only speak her mind when needed; she is pretty easy to talk to once she becomes familiar with someone. I suppose I will make up a character since my username doesn't really lend itself to a name.

Name: Abelard
Class: Darkflier (why are pegasus fliers only female and warriors only male anyways?)
Subclass: Dark mage (with promotion to either Druid or Dark Knight) and Wyvern rider
Stats: Average HP, skill, and attack. High magic, resistance and speed. Low defense, skill, and luck

Recruitment conditions: Help him defend the villagers from the enemies for 7 turns
Starting equipment: Javelin, elthunder, and concoction

Profile: A scholarly recluse embittered by his excommunication from the Church of (insert name). An arrogant, callous, and stubborn man who insists that the only one understand him is his pegasus, Heloise. Despite all of this, however, he nevertheless has a soft spot for the pious villagers who live near him and often visit him, even if its only to tease him mercilessly. The one most likely to go on a long lecture/rant if you get him started.

I'd really love to see a male Pegasus Knight. And a female Warrior.

I was actually brainstorming what some of the kids of the second gen of Awakening would be like, and I was considering that Cynthia might have a Paladin son (or Cavalier if we're not going to master classes) who wanted to be a male Pegasus Knight.

Well, let's see how this goes...

Name: Yu'Lee (does it sounds like it's from Cho'sin? I don't know...8D)
Class: Is it bad that I wanted him to be a Bishop? It is?:sadsheep: Ok then, Sage, then. (light magic needs to come back.)
Subclass:Dark Mage, Mage, Priest and Myrmidon/ Sorcerer, Dark Knight, War Monk, Swordsman and Assassin.
Stats: High Magic, Speed and Resistance; Meh Luck, Skill and HP; Low Defense and Str

Recruitment Conditions: Starts as an enemy on Chapter 17, together with the rest of the resistence members that are forced to attack you. Wait until the resistance members appear (and don't block the staircases!) to get Say'ri to talk to him.
Starting Equipment: Mend Staff, Arcfire and Concoction
Supports with (I can't help but add this little thing): Say'ry, Lon'qu, Lissa, Robin (duh), Libra, Gaius, Stahl, Donnel and Maribelle.

Profile: One of the soldiers in the little resistance that Say'ri formed to fight against Walhart, he was forced to attack Chrom's army after being threatened by Excellus together with other soldiers.
He wanted to learn Cho'sin swordplay when he was a kid, but never had much talent neither opportunity for it, and ended up learning magic instead.
He never liked wars, killing and didn't care for what was happening in Cho'sin, differently of his peers. His father, however, forced him into the resistance, which he resented him for. When Excellus started threatening the resistance's soldiers, he actually found it to be surprisingly easy to switch sides, musing that he probably lacked something the rest soldiers seemed to have. After seeing Say'ri's determination to save her country in Fort Steigner, he found that he was missing that kind of determination and decided to follow her lead, completely smitten with admiration and respect.
Can be a bit sarcastic and lazy sometimes, though.

As a side note, We really should add this as a emoticon on the forum now:troll:

It's been a while. I'll make a new one different from my last.

Name: Esmoire
Starting Class: Bard
Subclass: Cleric, Soldier
Stats: A lot of health, above average def and res, above average speed, average luck, low skl, str, mag

Recruitment Conditions: Beginning of chapter
Starting Equipment: Blue Gem

Profile: A traveller on a journey to bring balance to this world. Joy and sorrow, love and pain, order and chaos... He sees all as an aspect of life as valuable as any other. He wishes to align the world to balance. His interest in your journey is largely superficial.

Most likely to be found knitting.

Stats: (Stats by GBA standards, Myrm growths) Decent Strength (35%), Very low magic (10%), Low skill (30%), High Speed (55%), High luck (55%), low defense (20%), Low res (15%)

Recruitment Conditions: Appears as enemy unit as part of reinforcements on Awakening Ch.7 (Incursion, the mountain ambush chapter). Recruited by talking w/ Cordelia.
Starting Equipment: C Rank Swords. Wyrmslayer equipped.

Profile: Kind-hearted and honorable. Forced into the fight by Plegian captors. General backstory gives vague (but not direct) references to being of noble-born, but has since abandoned that position. Surrounded by an air of serenity and calmness. Exceptionally skilled at dueling tactics.

I don't think I did this the first time, so yeah, sure, I'll have a little fun with it. ^^

Can be found smiling if alone.

I love this create-a-character game.

Were these characters suppose to be set in Awakening's world? If so, let's pretend there's an underground library somewhere in Plegia.

I also notice a lot of these characters are not the social types...

Capcom is just as bad.
Release a great game exclusive to 3DS, but as soon as it becomes successful, make a sequel on every console but the 3DS.

It's up to you! I personally didn't really pay any respects to world or class restrictions, hence a male Cleric. Was at one point thinking Heron, as well.
I also notice a lot of these characters are not the social types...
This is actually the third time this has happened (I think it happened once before in a conversation), and every time we get lots of Dark Mages. It'll be fine... unless the enemy force consists of 45 Res Dread Fighters supported by Warding staves. :4robinf:

Recruitment Conditions: Defeat me in the arena
Starting Equipment: Steel lance

Profile: Grew up in a small village where his mother served as a pegasus knight. Cel honed his skills through training and became the best fighter in his little town. Cel told his village that he was going out to test himself against the world, but in reality he wanted to go out and find himself. Has a strong sense of fighting for justice and detests killing unless it's necessary. Strives to protect people after growing up with a younger sister named Korcia. Still has the "big brother" mentality and will look out for the younger troops. Cel has a tendency to isolate and talk with himself, but he's pretty sociable and friendly. Has a soft spot for cute things, but doesn't like many people knowing about it. Can be often found pondering.

I made mine to be as general as possible for the setting, but I would prefer to be set in Tellius/Ylisse. :p

An army of Dark Mages needs a tank? :4dedede:

Cel and Elizabeth (barring Def) as Soldiers will have to do! I know I used Nephenee to tank for the Tellius games, granted she had Ike to leverage that load. We can also reclass Raziek to Wyvern Rider and Esmoire to Soldier if we need more MEAT.

No one likes axes. The axe is the weapon of peasants. Not heroes. We're heroes here. We use swords. Swords, lances and magic.
