Hey, speaking of Robin, is anyone here a pro with like photoshop or something and could palette swap the palette swaps? For example, show us what a Blue, White Mage and Green FemRobin would look like, and at the same time what a Red and Yellow MaleRobin would look like?

I've been playing some Smash Run today and I can't help but laugh whenever Robin tries to run at high speeds. The faster characters look pretty normal if you get their speed stat up, but Robin seems to run in a silly way.

Also, apparently Nosferatu does some kinda fire damage to it. I tried it against a Chandelure and instead of hurting it, Nosferatu powered it up like when you hit it with Arcfire.

I seem to remember something like this happening in Smash battles. Apparently, if a frozen target is struck with a dark attack they will immediately break out of the ice. That was in SSBM and SSBB, though. I don't know if the same thing happens in Smash 4.

Darkness in Smash Bros is generally a variant of fire. That is to say, darkness is dark flames. In Brawl they had it statistically distinct (stickers that improved fire did not improve darkness IIRC), though it's possible they didn't bother with the statistical distinction in Smash 4, and it's all just visual.

So...darkness burns? I've seen darkness freeze targets before, but never burn them.

There is the dark variant of electricity as well, complete with the 50% increase in hitlag. Not sure how this interacts with stuff like Yellow Pikmin, though it should be the same as normal electricity.

Tested it out with Ganondorf and same thing happened with the Chandelure. Also Ganondorf is surprisingly fun to use in Smash Run...

Once he can actually move around the map at ease in the last two minutes of the game. His Flame Choke is fun to abuse and becomes really scary once you build up his special/attack.

I thought it was Bravely Default too, but then I looked at it more and realized it was from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Despite it being my starting city, I can never pronounce Limsa Lominsa properly.

Also, I get so hopelessly lost there...

Yeah, I thought it was from Bravely Default, too, just because of the destinctive layout. Though I did remember that city had a couple of windmills strewn about which I couldn't spot in the picture.

At first I though it happened because Chandelure is Ghost/Fire pokémon :v But Dark is effective agaisnt that type, so it's probably what Hong said.

SMN or SCH in your future?

Edit: For the record it's a long A. So the "Ah" at the end of the words is more like realization rather than surprise. Just wait till about 15 or so. You should get some cutscenes that will have characters pronouncing it in full.

Edit 2: I say "should" because I in fact started out in Ul'dah as a Thamaturge, not in Limsa as an Arcanist. I switched to Summoner later. So our first 15 levels will be different.

I am leaning towards Scholar, mostly because it's a class/job (?) that my guild is lacking.

I see. Can't help you all that much as SCH. I only do SCH when daily roulette wait times are being stupid for DPS. Only bits of advice I can give is for your bonus stats that you gain while leveling, allocate them towards Mind, not Int, and make sure you level CNJ up to 34, not just 15. You'll need Stoneskin. Next, you MUST, and while this isn't a requirement for getting SCH, it's more or less mandatory for endgame, level THM up to 26 for Swiftcast. Most people don't like it when their healers don't have Swiftcast. Lastly, even tho' you're not going to use it, pick up SMN. Both SMN and SCH sit on the Arcanist class, so exp you gain as an SCH is also applied to SMN and vice versa. Being able to do two job quests at 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 will help with leveling.

One more piece of advice before we both get banned for derailing our Robin thread into an FFXIV thread:

If you find that the Loot you desire is not dropping, one can appease both The Loot Gods AND RNJesus with following Sacred Ritual:

First, erect an Altar constructed entirely of Miqo'te Bone. (Miqo'te are the cat people.)
Second, imbue the recently constructed Altar of Miqo'te Bone with a Screaming Cacophony of 1,001 Damned Souls.
Thirdly, upon the recently Imbued Altar of Miqo'te Bone, offer up in Sacrifice and Holocaust 1,001 Lalafells (Lalafells are the puntable race) as Burnt Offering to The Loot Gods and RNJesus.
This should be good for one (1) piece of Loot that you desire.

There's no guarantee it'll work, but at least you'll feel better after doing it.

Robin's grabs make me pretty sad

I find her reverse throw to be pretty good. And I think there's probably some combo potential in forward throw. Alternatively, it's useful for pushing people off long stages like Bridge of Eldin and second phase of Castle Siege. It's also sort of humiliating:

There's really none unfortunately. At most, you can catch an opponent offguard with thoron after fthrow but that's a big maybe and more of a gimmick than anything. Heck, you can easily jump out of it if you wanted to. That throw is strictly for positional purposes.
