Meteor Smash on Elwind would seem kinda ridiculous imo. Honestly it already seems pretty useful. There's not many projectiles in the game that can be shot downwards at that length/speed. Seems useful for edgeguarding characters that usually like to recover low..
Maybe so, but it looks like a move that would do something similar.

Megaman has that hard knuckle thing, and Rosalina has something similar as well.

I dunno, doesn't really seem like edge guarding material when it knocks enemies upwards.

Hold the phone guys. I was looking at Elwind more closely.. I'm starting to think it's not a 2 part recovery like it looks in the trailer. I think it doesn't send you into freefall. It looks like it might actually be a very small recovery (esentially the height of a double jump), however as we saw in the trailer it can be used mutliple times. If this is the case, this could have amazing potential. And it wouldn't be ridiculous either considering tomes are likely to have a durability limit as well, meaning you can't just always have a ridiculous recovery because it's still limited (Think ROB's fuel mechanic for his Up B in Brawl)..

Here's what I mean:

Think of these as 2 indidual uses of Robin's Up Special:

First use of Up B:

Second use of Up B:

If this is the case, it has amazing potential.. Chasing enemies high into the air... Shifting your momentum in the air and following up with aireal attacks.. Saving teammates in Double Matches using the projectile.. Being able to recover from pretty much everywhere..

Of course, like I mentioned before, it would still have it's limits of course. Tomes are still a resource after all. You use it for that ridiculous recovery to fly all the way under Final Destination? Well too bad, then you can't recover the next time you get hit off stage.

EDIT: My Elwind theory was debunked from the new CoroCoro scans. Oh whelp.

We know the true reason why Robin carries so many Tomes:

This post made me laugh a lot haha, but alas you can only like it once.

Now back to the tome thing. Yeah, I'm really hoping they won't put on a really silly long time delay, or a life stock system. I know we're all tacticians here, but seriously... that would make playing Robin Lunatic + mode. As much as I love a challenge, I really want to be able to enjoy maining Robin. Rather than finding it a bit too painful. Maybe I'm just a bit too casual, but I love fun and silly fights (I don't even really mind losing as long as the match was good and enjoyable.) 10 seconds sounds reasonable for a tome regen time, rather than pokemon trainer times.

Famitsu Scan

This confirms what was mostly speculated(along with today's Miiverse post).

N-Special: Thunder (can charge up to Thoron)
S-Special: Arc Fire
U-Special: Elwind
D-Special: Nosferatu
Final Smash: Pair Up

The spell names are listed specifically for each special. I went with the official English translation for the Double command in the case of his Final Smashes' name.

Side-Smash uses Levin sword, as does his F-air (or is it his B-air?). Either way, he's got a mix of sword normal's with some tome attacks thrown in (jab finishers are all I've seen thus far). With Sakurai explaining how the Levin/Bronze Sword thing works, we now know most of his move-set.

We've seen D-tilt and 2 of his potential 4 jab strings too.

New Robin info, I think.

@Frostwraith deciphered some of it.

It apparently shows each of the different magic attack to be a different direction.

Neutral is Thunder.
Up is Elwind.
Side is Arcfire.
Down is Nosferatu.

Nice to have it confirmed.

Depending on how long it takes to charge Thoron, couldn't it be a really good pressure tool on something like FD, since it seems to cover the whole stage length?

They'd have to get in the air to avoid it, and give you a chance to out-predict them.

I dunno, I love how tactical the theory for Robin is, though. These are the elements of Sakurai's genius, despite the occasional bad points he has.
I want to see if it goes through walls, it had a piercing effect that I wouldn't be surprised if it does. That would be amazing, but powerful. Perhaps it will degrade the tome more quickly?

But, yes, it's nice to see he's made the tactician seem tactical.

I see a new picture, and it has female!Robin!

Now we need someone to translate it all.

The picture with Little Mac is Robin doing a Smash attack, whcih again @Frostwraith deciphered, and I'm guessing it is Fsmash.

I'm also under the very likely presumption that the pic with Greninja is Robin's Bair.

TBH, I'm quite disappointed that Robin doesn't seem to have Tyrfing in his/her moveset. I always thought of it as their 'canon' sword.

Yeah tomes only seem to affect the finisher. Either a sword swing or the jab simply just ends short.

Also nosferatu and the grab are two different moves. Look at Robin's stance and sword placement when doing said moves.

If nosferatu was a pummel animation he would've returned back to a neutral grab state after the pummel executes. Also note that both diddy and palutena are in neutral position before being caught; different start ups for both animations.
Also, the grab shows you holding a lightning tome despite the "dark aura" while grabbing Kirby.

It surely does, but stretching a 3DS screenshot to the native resolution of modern monitors would make the image looks like ***. :p
Might make a good phone lock screen though.
Here's a bigger, more clear and easier to see version of the scan.

This... this is making October feel so far away. Can't wait to try Robin out!

...Goddamn, for some reason I made myself believe the game would come out here in September.

I forgot we will wait one month more after the release in Japan.

Oh well ;_;

September will be the month of mental preparation as the bits and pieces of metagame knowledge start trickling in from the JP community and all the game footage they'll be uploading. A good tactician comes prepared! :b

I would suggest staying away from Youtube and the Smash Boards character discussion thread if you don't want to get spoiled.

I'll probably include the Famitsu Scan in the Confirmed section as well.

Mind if I just use your post @ Shun_one Shun_one since it already explains its contents? I'll edit things as need be if we get more clarification.

...what attack is that in the pic with Fem Robin and Zelda? It isn't a Zelda attack I've ever seen and Light Magic wasn't even in Awakening...

I am not bothered by spoilers, but I would want to have the game at the same time as our fellow Japanese Smash fans. It can't be helped, though, so I will just play some of the various games I have sitting on Steam in the meantime.

Yeah. What stinks for me is that the 3DS version gets released two moths after I start back at College, luckily I only have two classes to take though.
