So after playing in a small smashfest today, I've become more confident in my skills. I'm still bad, but I've gotten my spirits up about improving. I played against some new people and some familiars, but in some of the matches I played really well to the point where I was surprising myself a little. Hopefully this attitude of mine can keep being up in time for Big House. I know I won't make it very far but hopefully I can meet my goals.

Unpopular opinion:

Alphrarad's (and similar entities') "How to..." series isn't that funny. It's very entertaining and I love to see the skill he displays with the characters, but I find the jokes trite and weird.

Unpopular opinion #2:

Voicing unpopular opinions for the sake of voicing unpopular opinions is silly.

1) I'm inclined to agree, with the caveat that I find his ******* on opponents amusing. The edited-in trash talk, while it has its moments, is as a rule secondary to the fact that the dickery is occurring in the first place.

2) Nah. Sometimes you just gotta let that **** out.

It's not really skill, he's on for glory. He fights against garbage players.

In his defense, while I have never considered him a high-level player so much as a flashy and showy fighter, and I think that's pretty much accepted caveat for his videos in general, what he does nevertheless takes skill.

To be honest, I like the "___ is OP!" montage series a lot more.

Honestly, I think that's in the same boat. The commentary on the dickery is secondary to the dickery itself.

Really? How time flies. It seems like just yesterday that Nintendo had opened the golden gates of opportunity, building hype beyond measure, as fans began flocking from all over to fly the colored banners of their voted characters.


I can only imagine what all the support threads will be like on the final day. The sheer anticipation of it all. And when the winners have been named, we will know, in our hearts, that hype and salt shall reign supreme in perhaps not so equal measures that day.

The game probably got released in Korea already. When it comes to Japanese games, Korea is almost always the next country that gets them, right after Japan.

It's not even out in Japan yet, though (releases in November).

I'd say it's either from some event in Korea, or a preview copy or early translated build got leaked.
