I'm an active tourney goer actually for Smash 4 and PM but have been lacking in the OOS department cause of the Broke ass college student status.

EDIT: I play a couple of characters in tourney but most of my time is in Falco, Robin, Marcina, Roy, Bowser and slowly working on a Rosalina.

There're weekly tournaments here and I went last Saturday, I ended up placing 13th out of a 28 man bracket so I think is decent but still is kinda hard when I'm surrounded by Sheik mains. I played with Robin and Falcon as a secondary/co-main and I played my first match on stream against a Ryu and Little Mac.

I need to step my game against Rosalina and Luigi.

I live in the Land of no Smash...
And it hurts because I want to go to a tournament.

All Fire Emblem: Fates characters and their relevance to their story (ie marriage options, special classes, character deaths etc...)

One thing I'm actually really depressed about is that Flora will die no matter what...

And I was considering marrying her too--

Never been to a tournament and not sure if I want to tbh...
I highly recommend going to a tournament, it really helps you to improve and have a good time. Personally, I have a lot of fun going to the weekly tournaments and besides the good competition I laugh a lot, maybe at first you are going to be "the new" or just a random one but if you go more you're going to meet some nice people, I have some good friends from smash tourneys and if I'm free after college I usually ask someone if he feels to play some smash, then I proceed to have a nice evening with smash and some laughs. Right now I'm known for maining "The redhead" so you kinda see my point.

Edit: Basically, I don't only recommend going to a tourney for improving your smash skills, also is a great way to have a awesome day with people that shares the same interest-

Omg guys, this is the actual dumbest...

Fates spoilers
The explanation for how 2ed gens work is basicially: kids born -> throw them into the hyperbolic time chamber -> recruit all grown up kids a few days later.....

The actual heck? Like... wow, I think Awakening actually handled this so much better

Going to a tourney can be easy or hard depending if your young, still in middle school/ high school, have a car and live in a lively area TBH. Tourneys are hella fun though not for getting better but geeking out on nerd stuff and nerd activities as well. Experience will vary from person from person though.

AND THIS IS WHY 2ED GENS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A THING.

Look, IS, I liked the 2ed gens in Awakening. Was one of my favorite parts of the game. But dear god friends, this is pants on head mental. This is exactly what I feared would happen, nonsensical explanations to justify them in every game. Look, in Awakening it worked: the entire plot revovlved around time travel. But here, this makes no damn sense! I just... just because a feature was good in one game, doesn't mean it needs to be shoehorned everywhere else. And if you absolutely have to recycle it, come up with something that its this stupid!

Why... why even... and now you've caused this madness to infect Awakening too!! We have 3 characters from awakening, two who now have time-chamber babies! My god, just.... I have no words.

You're right, I started going to tourneys more often when I was in last year of high school when my parents didn't worried about me going alone at the city to this events (kinda overprotective parents in a way), now I'm in my first year of college so I need to go everyday to the city so that's not a problem now.
Apart from that, it depends if you really want to go and motivate yourself enough to go, personally I have a lot of fun in tourneys, and that is my experience so I recommend going but I don't know how is your local scene so it depends, this is just my opinion.

Wait the "The Happy-Go-Lucky World of Nintendo!" has no smash?
Somehow, yeah. I am completely shocked by it. O_o
(where I ACTUALLY live, there are barely any Nintendo or Smash fans... I dunno if there is a scene...)

I'm starting to feel like Fates is going to be the crux of an identity crisis for the series and its fans. Whereas FE has traditionally been about moving units around on tiled battlefields (and occasionally seeing those units have fun character building conversations), the series appears to be moving decisively towards moving units around on tiled battlefields in such a way as to get them to wed over a shared love of pie and pop out an offensively powerful/kawaii uguu~ war babby. Which... isn't an inherently bad thing. Just a very different thing, and one that many people are understandably not sure they're going to continue to enjoy.
the more I read about Fates, the more I think this will apply for me. I think I'm definitely sticking with Hoshido as well as I prefer the characters design and aesthetics. Varied objectives are nice and all, but I never paid that much attention to it.
Some people will bring up there's no reason to choose Hoshido after Robin's relationship there, but ehhh...I already said I have no hope for this games plot, so it doesn't concern me.

H-hyperbolic... Time Chamber?!
That's what I'm going to refer to it as. I just saw the actual translation. Its not quite as dumb, but is still dumb

"The two's bond gradually grew close, they wed, and before long had children. But the formless demons soon attacked the Avatar's castle, clearly targeting the children. Those concerned for the children's safety knew of secluded refuges called 'hikyou' ('秘境,' as NeonZ said, either 'unexplored region' or 'isolated region', I don't feel like thinking of a good translation). Within the star ocean exist many small worlds, including places with people living peacefully. Secluded within these hikyou the children could live in safety until they reached adulthood. However, the flow of time within these hikyou differs greatly from the normal world. In order to protect their children, the parents resolved to part with them for a time and leave them in the care of the managers of these worlds, and so they grew up in the hikyou."

Pretty much my experience back in HS as well and I went to my first tourney when brawl came out so I was 16 at that time.

Oh well, the moment I saw the parents never aged I knew some 'wtf' explanation was coming.

Well, the game still looks awesome to me, and I'm still going to play it.
I guess this is the case that reading some plot related spoilers on accident was good (Damn Smashboards and your funky spoiler tags), because even after that my interest is still picked.

Also, seems like I was :4greninja: gifted a premium, so I'd like the person who did to tell me so I can properly thank you.
If you don't want to reveal yourself, it's ok. Thank you so much, dear.:cheep: I do feel a bit uneasy that someone spend money for my forum account, though, but grateful nonetheless.

I'm lost. What's Robin's relationship with Hoshido?

In the FE Social group, yes, there is.

You must've missed the post where Raziek said that trying to keep spoilers out of the thread was an exercise in futility. People will keep posting spoilers to Fates unless an extreme measure to prevent them is taken, such as giving an instant infraction to whoever does so. But because there is no such measure in place(and it would be a massive exaggeration anyway for something like a spoiler), people will freely post spoilers(but even that isn't foolproof due to spoilers being opened upon refreshing a page) knowing that people read at their own discretion.

That's just how it works and it ain't changing unless the above measure is taken, which I reiterate is an exaggeration.
How active in the FE Social Group?

I guess the reason why I'm so reluctant to going to a tournament is because I feel like I'm not too good at the game and that I'll get called a 'scrub' or whatever. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to go to one and I really hope the people there are quite nice. c:

Maybe someone gave it to you as some sort of elaborate "Prank!"

I've spent the last 15 minutes laughing at my own joke, please help
