This thread is ****ty because the title is "Tiers don't exist guys!", the OP links to a thread on GAMEFAQS of all places where the OP of both threads says that tiers DO exist.

Edit: Actually Pubik, it's just that I spent hours and hours researching every fighting game in existence, found all of the ones where someone has earned more than $500 dollars total or there has been more than $1000 dollars in a pot all at one tournament, and listed it so I could whip it out during Tier debates, and this is the first real chance I've gotten to use it so I jumped the gun, and I'm sorry, but I was like an excited child on christmas day, you know?

I basically pretended I was a scrub, then pretended I rethought everything. I then wrote out the correct argument of my "corrected" thinking. I knew all that all along, but I wrote the topic that way for lulz.

What you forgot to add though was that skill levels between players can vary by very minimal amounts while the character advantage (tiers) can vary by more, thus skill is not greater than tiers, a sufficient level of skill difference can overpower tier/character advantages when it is outweighed by the skill level difference.

I'm sure you knew this, I'm just pointing out that it isn't so black and white, and btw basically everybody knows all this stuff already.

as long as characters are wining tournements there will be a teir list. a teir list is based off of characters winning tourneys. if mk wins the most tourneys he will be top of the list. he might have a lot of adavantages but its not calculated in the forming of a teir list.

Yes, I knew this, but thank you for pointing it out. I know this thread is common knowledge, but I thought that people would get a few laughs out of it. Apparently there's an equal amount of people who don't read things on GameFAQs and on Smashboards.
