Or at least anyone who liked or was introduced to the series from the Prime games. Samus is nothing more than a upgraded version of her character from Melee. Which makes her suit look like something she bought from a junk shop, her Morph Ball attack still does that 'bloop" sound and little discs fly out and explode, her missiles are still slow moving heat seeking missiles and her Morph Ball probably still looks like a metal volleyball. In fact, the only song they have from a Metroid game happens to be a version from Metroid Fushion and the only stage they have is a stage from Super Metroid, saw that coming. Are they ever going to get it right, or do they not even care about the Prime games?

Uhhh, dude, you don't really seem to know much about Metroid, or else you would've realised Super Metroid > Every other Metroid.

That being said, using the great look they gave Samus in the Prime games wouldn't hurt.

Oh dude, Super Metroid is more than 10 years old, and still stands as one of the top 5 games in history, you fail.

Edit:

I dissagree, Prime's suit is ugly, unless you mean the kick *** light suit.

Opinion has nothing to do with it, but the sheer ignorance in and apathy for a series that has existed for five years and has had five installments.
Guess what? They added Super Missiles, so she's even more like Super Metroid look! Obviously they have good taste in knowing that Super Metroid > Prime Series combined!

Oh, yeah... I could tell you a ton of series of games that they've ignored... but wait! We don't even know everything about the game yet! So I can't say anything yet!

Hold onto your rants until it actually comes out.

And Super Metroid pwns Prime altogether.

You're an idiot to resort to nothing but shallow insults. If he had anything in that head, but your own ego, you'd realize the topic at hand.

I'm sick of these threads complaining about the game's characters, stages, AT's, music, I mean are you guys seriously this pessimistic? please, other than Mario and Link, I don't think any of the veterans will get any drastic change, if you don't like that, maybe you should main a newcomer this time.

I support your love for the Prime series. If you recall, the Dojo did state some people started playing games at different times. Some started playing Super Mario Bros for the NES, and some started with the New Super Mario Bros for the DS....(he was commenting on music in regards to this, but still)

Samus and all the characters, aside from the Zelda characters, look like their authentic representations. Samus from the SNES/NES games was the original Samus and remained like that until the Prime games 5 years ago. It makes sense if Prime is ignored in regards to her appearance. Stages?....

Bronzed, polished metal is MUCH better than orange.

And hey, SM is a fantastic game, but you really should give the Prime games their due. They're also great games.

Okay, wtf guys? He never questioned whether Super Metroid was the best game or not. The point is that the latest and quite important part of the Metroid series is being ignored: Metroid Prime. It needs some attention to be payed for it. I'm sure that Super Metroid is great and all, but Metroid is an evolving series and it needs to be reflected, it shouldn't just be stuck in the past.

Although, I do believe there was already a thread similar to this one.

Edit:

@Xenesis:

Oh, you misunderstand me, i love the Prime games, but i consider Super Metroid to be much better.

They will never make a Prime game that beats Super Metroid

And you obviously, do not give a darn about anyone else's favorite games outside your own preferences.

Uhhhh, no. Super Metroid is an udisputed classic. Or else it wouldn't be in such highly cpositive cirtitical claim. It even nabbed the #1 of EGM's 100 bets games of all time list (not ehe 200 best games of their time list, don't get 'em confused).

SO, no, it's good. Or else so many people wouldn't like it.

Shut up, I am not one to argue semantics with a person so ignorant.
THe point at hand is YOUR saying they ruined Samus, my favorite character in Smash by giving her her BEST look from the BEST game in the series and adding more stuff from her game like Super Missiles.

Actually, from what I is seen all the characters seem to sport the most recent appearance.

Now that's just narrow mindedness.

Pinnacle of the series or not, to say that it can NEVER be beaten is just silly.
I hate Metroid in first person, so I don't believe they ever will...

I think that Super Mario Brothers 3 is a horrible game, yet it's lauded as the best mario game of all time.

What's your point?
What in the world can you hate about Super Mario Bros 3?

This is just pure ignorance. Not only did half of your statement was assumed, you fail to realize that they do not have to resemble Samus to any look. They could probably even make Samus have a wings if they wanted, so you do not decide it.

Actually, I think the case here is that you're a noob at life. You do nothing but take the words you want to hear out to other people's assessments and turn them into arguments unwanted and unneeded.

That's another discussion for another time.

Regardless, I am kind of disappointed that not even a hint of a nod is being given to Metroid Prime in SSBB so far. :/

If selection of characters is supposed to be that unpredictable. I don't even know why they have a board on this topic.

Maybe because Japan doesn't like Metroid Prime because it's basically a first person shooter and they HATE first person shooters...that's why it isn't popular there...

and it's made in Japan by Sakurai

By new appearance, you mean how they looked like in their most recent games. Mario will always look the same in any game, Zelda and Link were Twilight Princess-ed, Yoshi didn't have any new games and will always look the same, Ice Climbers needed a makeover since their 1980 something game, Ike looks like he did in his GC game, Snake actually looks like his classic Snake appearance from MGS for the PS1, Wario has his recent appearance from the Warioware games etc.

And then there's Samus. You could say Samus looks like she did in Melee, without all her shinyness, but she has been enhanced graphically.

Her bombs are retro bombs because that's how they were in Melee. They couldn't change them so much as to make her a different character. Her missles were the same speed in Melee too. Her screwattack needed to stay the same since the Prime games made it more situational to use. The only non-Prime thing I noticed were her bombs, and that's it. No biggie.

And when a person argues about a topic completely unrelated to the subject at hand, and complains about a person voicing his opinion, that person doesn't even deserve to be entitled to the same privileges of the average forum member. You are nothing but a biased -- or, in other words, you need to learn some manners.

I do admit that he went a bit far to say that they "ruined" Samus, but he wasn't flaming/criticizing, he was expressing his feelings about Brawl, which is not a crime. You're the one who put words into his mouth and argued something that was irrelavent to the thread.
