Religion = set of beliefs, usually regarding deities, the supernatural, morality, afterlife, the creation of the universe, the origin of life, etc.

I'm not very educated on any religion at all and I don't even know how many deities are involved in buddhism. I know very little about buddhism but I believe it has its own morality, if it does then it falls under my definition of religion. I've also heard it referred to as a religion many times (and as far as I know there is no controversy over calling it a religion) so I will call it a religion. Tell me if you have a problem with my definition of religion, or if you think it isn't a religion.

My point was that atheism is not a religion because atheism is a disbelief. You can believe whatever you want about the supernatural, morality, afterlife, creation of the universe, origin of life, evolution etc and still be an atheist, as long as you don't believe in a god.
