Honestly this ** is probably the worst thing to happen to gaming as a subculture. I was curious about Stellar Blade ever back when they showed off Project Eve in a State of Play and it took over half a year to learn what the game is actually like on youtube instead of dumb "This is gonna end woke video games" nonsense, you legit cannot try and get some impressions and thoughts on video games these days without having to scroll past dozens of grifter bull** which all say the same thing and plagiarize each other
Nerd Culture as a whole has been cooked since Gamergate.

I don't feel like diving into that but since then it feels like there's been a huge shift in terms of the culture regardless of where you align politcally/ideologically.

A friend of mine loves western RPGs and was absolutely frothing at the mouth when on the phone a few months back because he was so mad people were calling the new Dragon Age bad for absolutely meaningless **** when in his eyes, there's actual problems with the game and a reviewer he likes went "Actually, the game is great because it made chuds mad". Dude was begging for nuanced opinions and only found that from I wanna say Skill Up or something? Idk, it's a mess

I miss when the peak of online gamer culture was NES nostalgia, AVGN, and The Cake is a Lie.

As fun as she is, the fairy godmother could probably be replaced.

Super Mario World has been added to Nintendo Music.

With that, all preannounced tracks have been released.

From between the first announcement for Smash Ultimate and the E3 presentation, why was the "Smash 4 port" idea so common? Was there even any shred of evidence for it, or was it just loser mentality? :yoshi:

We had some proof they wanted to port all the Wii U games over to the Switch from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe being a thing.

Day 27: Mega Mawile

Let's be real here, this one should've just been a normal evolution.

It's still really cool though! Two heads are better than one :nifty:
It's a shame that a lot of stage 1 Pokemon who got Megas just, aren't good without them now, and pretty much none of them got any form of compensation.

Mawile and Pinsir were finally good, and then they just.... weren't.

Eh. As someone who was active in internet discussions during then, it wasn't all great. Way more casual racism, sexism, and homophobia.

I think the difference though is people know better now. Some just choose to not do better.

Part of the problem is social media has herded people into these public spaces to argue with each other. To some extent on web 1.0, if you avoided stuff like 4chan and SomethingAwful, you could avoid a lot of that noise to an extent. Now all social media is just full of wanna-be channers.

There's more I could go into with the history of these sites but I'll be here all day.

I'd love to pin the blame on social media, and to a degree, social media is to blame, but you're 100% right, this kind of stuff's always existed from Newgrounds, to YTMND, to Ebaumsworld, 4chan and countless other sites that are escaping me. It's just back when, that kind of stuff usually ended up being self contained, and when it wasn't, it was behind an anonymous username.

Nowadays though, it's not contained at all.

So what we need to do is go back to Usenet and Angelfire hosted personal websites, clearly.

It used to be "don't feed the trolls" and then you could mostly get rid of them.

Nowadays, not only do trolls have a financial incentive to create outrage, but quite a few social media sites like Twitter and YouTube are doing their best to make blocking as hard/useless as possible.

Day 5: Vulpix

If I had a coin for every time PMD fan media used a Vulpix partner and Riolu hero, or vice versa:

Yeah, Mawile really needs some post-Mega love. Intimidate is nice, but aside from that ability it's kinda just...mid. We'll likely see the mega again in ZA, but the Legends games don't involve competitive battling unfortunately.

And we are "prepared 4 launch!" Here is the first teaser trailer for the Fantastic Four: First Steps:
I love how the costumes look - and how the movie looks in general.

Some curious casting choices, too.

I was a devout Miiverse user. I don't think I was 13 yet so I used my dad's Nintendo account to get on, which to this day is the account I use for Nintendo purchases and stuff.

Anyways, half the dudes I hung out with there are either nazis or LGBT with very little in between.
