That idea is kind of redundant when Dark's weakness to Fighting is supposed to be "good triumphing over evil" already. The dark typing is supposed to be reminiscent of heels in wrestling, while fighting represents faces.

Very true. And in general my desire is to try and make Love distinct from both Fighting AND Fairy, both types strong against Dark.

Perhaps it'd be better if Fighting was immune to Dark completely instead of merely resistant. Though I already think Fighting is one of the best types in the game and making it immune to Dark might lead to IT being overpowered. But I do think that Love's dark immunity works thematically as well. Choices, choices.

Ultimately though, Love is meant to counter Steel first and foremost as well as give much-needed buffs to Bug, Poison and especially Psychic

Finally beat Mario and Luigi brothership after about 140 hours.

Finished with Luigi at 51 and Mario at 49.

Definitely the longest if the Mario RPGS. Slow at first but it’s great all the way to the end. I really enjoyed most of the characters and their stories.

Bowser and Bowser Jr were used and written especially well.

Overall I’d give it an 8/10. Story is good but gameplay starts to get a little repetitive by the end. I’d probably rank it at number 3 for the series.

I also feel like this games getting DLC. There’s no boss rush or secret boss, and the peach subplot feels like setup for a side adventure.

I'll give it a 30% chance it could happen this week if we are indeed getting a Direct.

Well, I think the percentage should be higher because I do think this is happening.

Don't get me wrong, I am not asking you to give it something like 70%, and I am not asking you to increase your percentage at all. (Truth is, I hate telling others what to do) I just think the chances are higher.

My only problem with Galaxy 2 is how the story was rather limited (and more or less retconned 1's. just because the galaxy was reset/reborn doesn't mean everyone just forgot the events of it) and Rosalina's limited screentime in it.

With that said, the levels and new mechanics are utterly phenomenal, the soundtrack is on par with and in some cases even better than the first Galaxy's phenomenal soundtrack, and I actually liked Lubba as a character.

For anyone who's not played Super Mario Galaxy 2 yet, I'll always recommend giving it a shot.

That, I forgot to mention. Yes, there is no guarantee. I should have said that. Still, I am, myself, am quite optimistic that it could happen. Not optimistic in the way that it is overblown, blind optimism, as that is too high, and I don't see the next Direct as highly likely either. My optimism is more of a reasonable, controlled optimism.

My favorite depictions of dragons in media are when they’re shown as animals that, while possessing incredibly dangerous and perhaps magical abilities, can still be understood, trained, and befriended. Big, flying, fire breathing pets pretty much.

Other dragons are cool too, like wise old dragons, or standard villain dragons that hoard gold and capture princesses, because all dragons are good. But those are my favorite kind

Oh yeah, since I didn't post towards the end of 2024 or shortly after the start of the year. here's my Steam Year in Review.

Paladins remained my most played, while I found myself spending a lot of time playing several Indie games on my backlog that I either hadn't started or hadn't finished, most of all Pizza Tower. In the case of Shovel Knight, I had yet to beat Plague of Shadows or King of Cards in the case of Shovel Knight at the time. Plus I started playing Showdown, which sadly isn't as fun as any of the main campaigns, but more so without online gameplay. The game as a whole is still the king of Indie games, imo.

I'm surprised TF2 was still in the top 5 since I basically quit playing it in the first quarter of the year or so until several entire months after most of the bots were dealt with, but I guess I really spent most of my overall time on Steam playing two Indie games and a few FPS MMOs lol. I'll probably be playing less games of the latter genre this year so as to focus on my backlog of games that I haven't started or haven't yet finished.

Edit: Also, neither of the monsters depicted on the bootlegs are actually in the games (the Jade monster is actually the forest spirit from the anime film Princess Mononoke)

Her name is Lotus and she’s a water dragon owned by one of my main characters who’s default form is the size of a fruit back but is capable of magically growing as large as Appa through water absorption. Still sketching her large form out, but I wanted to see if you had any thoughts

I think that’s a cool ass dragon design is what I think! In her little form the wings kinda make her look like a blue dragon sea slug, not sure if that was intentional or not.

Also the water absorption gimmick just reminds me of those bath toys where you’d put em in the water and they’d grow huge

Yo, I've been watching the Super Mario World show

This **** is awful.

The Super Show is delightfully surreal. The Mario 3 show sticks closer to the source material and is mostly a subpar kids show. The World show is one the cheapest cartoons I've ever watched, holy ****.

Gave us some good memes though. Mama Luigi's a classic.
