I wonder if/when the stuff from Sonic Frontiers and Superstars will show up in the IDW comics?
I want Sage to be a recurring character damn it.

They still seem pretty hung up on Forces though, so it’d probably be a while. Assuming IDW doesn’t kick the bucket before they have the chance.

The entire comic is set in Forces aftermath and they've done like a dozen big plots that each could have been their own game since then that barely have anything to do with forces. The only thing that says otherwise is the continued presence of the Restoration, but like... they're basically just the government of Sonic's people at this point (and an excuse for the comic to still have an air of Knothole about it, post archie).

And yeah, I want Sage to be a major recurring character too (please just have her be Eggman's Bowser Jr and have her show up all the time). Honestly what needs to happen is that they need to get to a gap in their major storylines where Frontiers can have taken place, and then find a way to communicate that to the audience.

I don't think Starline will stay dead. Just call it a hunch. Especially since all it takes is for SEGA to be like "we want to use this character" for his resurrection to become mandated, I think he'll come back sooner or later.

gonna hope Aquaman can have one last good movie before the DCU officially kicks the DCEU into its grave

Yeah, they just need to have a page where Sonic & the homies fly in and say “Aw man, the Starfall Islands sure were wacky!”

I really just want more Sage tbh. As long as we’re still in Forces-ville there will be no Sage.

All my paragraphs were to argue that the comics aren't in Forces-ville. They're just in Sonic ville. Forces just really impacted the world and set the status quo.

Then let's shake up the status quo a bit :dkmelee:
I mean, what do you mean by that? You expect them to just get rid of the restoration? Get rid of the wispons? The only thing I could see as a “shake up” is if they went back to the part if the world with humans on it for a while and that’s really just a change in the background characters.

Nah they can keep all that stuff. I don’t need a radical shake-up, I was just talkin ****. Makes the comic a snapshot of where the franchise is at the time.

I really just would like them to add elements from the games as they release. I always liked that kinda stuff.

That sounds like it was cool. Although that did lead to a lot of production complications in the past. Hopefully SEGA can have better communication with the comic team, but with Ian Flynn writing for both now, should be pretty easy.

I was thinking about awful cover songs today

Before I ask about your least favorite covers, I'm just gonna show you this
"Enjoy"
I first heard the original version of this song (or, can at least that's where I can first remember hearing it) from watching Stranger Things 4.

This cover...isn't outright bad, per say, but it is incredibly bland.

I made a Creeper Miku in that My Miku Paint thing they have on the Miku Expo site.

Sharing my Twitter thread since I put 2 videos and all the pictures I took of it there:

here's one image though:
Creeper Miku_front.jpg

also the Miku Expo VR concert stream was good. Mainly cared for Miku but the others were cool too, Rin & Len's duo song performance was cute even though I didn't know what they were saying (someone said the song was a Dragon Quest parody from the NPC's point of view? forgot what the song's title was, don't know the producer either). The band did some banger metal music while Miku was introducing them.

Back from seeing The Marvels. Nothing amazing, but a good time overall. I'd put it in the middle of my MCU Tier List. The biggest thing holding it back is indeed the pacing (the 105 minute length). There are a surprising amount of fun ideas/locations that are introduced, but sadly no room is given for them to breathe. It's certainly better than not introducing anything new, especially with all of the complaints about Marvel fatigue, but I definitely believe that if the film was given another 10 minutes, the film would be much richer for it.

Thankfully I don't think the pacing effected the overall character dynamics of the film. The 3 leads I thought had good chemistry and I enjoyed them much more than their original appearances, much like Doctor Strange after his first film. The villain isn't amazing or feel all that threatening, but they did a solid job of explaining her motivations and beef with the 3 leads. It's just a shame it took Marvel three films to have a decent Kree villain.

The ending and Mid-Credits scenes I think finally start to give the MCU some needed direction. Or at least starts to finally fill some pieces in that will lead to Secret Wars. Marvel mostly taking next year off definitely seems like a good thing, as I get the feeling that we'll be seeing more reshuffling of release dates.

You definitely don't need to have watched Secret Invasion though. Nothing in it factors into this film in the slightest. No background cameos or even a throwaway line referencing the plot.

After the remake comes out, do you think Squeenix should make more Mario RPGs?
I'd say I think so.

If it is one of the main studios of Square Enix though, and hot take incoming, I would like the next Mario RPG; one that is not a sequel to Super Mario RPG, which is turn based, but a new kind of Mario RPG developed by Square Enix; to be an action RPG, much like the remake of Final Fantasy VII, that is, with real-time combat. I would like to see how Mario works in such an RPG.
