Yeah, imma be real Chief. The idea of going back to bland, linear routes with zero room for actual exploration doesn’t sound appealing in the slightest.

Scarlet/Violet may be buggy as hell, but that’s a result of the game being rushed out to meet deadlines. There’s still an actual world to explore, I can make my old adventure. That just wasn’t possible in Sword and Shield, which was railroaded to frustrating degrees. I simply don’t see the value in regressing the series.

But please, illuminate me on how this might be a good idea. I’m legitimately curious.

It's just what I think is more fun and what I'm gonna wish for. Not everybody needs to think about the "health or growth of the series" or how it appeals to the most people on the planet when talking about what they want to see. Some people do that. But that's not me.

Especially not when one considers the DLC.

In my case, though, my biggest issue with SwSh was the story, by far. It was actually intriguing up until Chairman Rose literally decided to risk starting the apocalypse on a whim.
