It’s literally the only thing that makes me have contention for this movie. And it sticks out like a sore thumb for me. Like when I hear his voice attached to this character, the soul gets sucked out faster than it would by Luigi’s Poltergust.

I’m more not impressed at the execs and higher ups who assumingly don’t have enough faith in the project to go for someone who suited Mario better and instead went with one of the current most bankable actors to play him.

Its not that deep. Its just easier money to get big names. If that's not having enough faith in the movie then almost half of the movies that are coming daily have no faith put in them either.

I feel like they were just doing for an everyman Brooklyn Mario and if anyone knows about being an everyman it's definitely Pratt.

The issue is that Mario already had a super defined voice so it is a bit jarring, but I warmed up to it. Not the worst performance in the world

Cool thing I just noticed.

In the second trailer I thought Mario’s “let’s-a go” felt really forced. It didn’t really fit with the different voice direction.

But thanks to the new voicemail, we know that it’s the slogan for their plumbing business. So it makes more sense that he’d say that to hype himself up.

It says a lot when the most pessimistic person on this boards which is me just finds the voice okay and I'm able to look past it without a problem and be excited for the movie

Despite the oversaturation of celebrity VO’s in animated films, I don’t mean that every casting choice like that means no faith. It’s just he’s the one that sticks out to me when pretty much everyone else in this movie has their natural voice fit or puts on a voice that fits, but aside from like one line, Pratt’s not either case.

I’m done talking about this though, I don’t wanna be ranting about this all night

In my opinion. They could've squeezed Daisy in there just as another ally of Peach (Since Sarasaland was featured in the trailer from that map in Peach's castle). The character they're giving Peach feels like it's more for Daisy, I just don't think it fits Peach.

Like I wasn't expecting Peach to be some totally helpless damsel-in-distress but at least more around the lines of some kind of sovereign leader of some type at least.

But hey just my opinion.

Someone hasn’t read the Super Mario Adventures comic. We don’t know the full extent of what she does in the movie yet so I don’t think it’s fair to judge her here.

And as much as I’d love to see Daisy, I think it’d be better to introduce her in a story that makes her feel more necessary than that

I mean it did have pyramids...It's likely Sarasaland or at least a reference. It also showed Donkey Kong's kingdom. And as we later see in the trailer, they're working together with the Kongs in karts which clearly indicates both kingdoms being allies to thwart Bowser.

I beat Pokemon Violet! It was the first main Pokemon game that I've played through to the end in 20 years. (I missed out on a LOT of the series)

Despite any technical hiccups, I enjoyed my time with the game (Nemona was a highlight - she's basically Goku as a Pokemon Trainer, which had me laughing out loud at points), and I'm tempted to go back to older Pokemon games at some point. For now, though, I think I'll focus on Persona 3 Portable next. (Though maybe it's better for me to go with a game that's shorter)

She deserves better than to be crap-talked by many Mario fans, she's so kind and can definitely hold her own if given the opportunity. Plus her situation makes her easy to feel sorry for. I'd be scared too if I had to deal with the daily fear of being captured by a horrifying demon turtle if I put my feet wrong.
