So, I finished my SEGA Fighters crossover roster. It's pretty on the safe side but I think I did a fine job at establishing a base lineup of characters that can be expanded in a potential future entry. Think this coming out around the same time as Transformed, so there’s not much focus on newer games.

I think a more classic fighting game style would be more suited for it, albeit with more interactive stages and maybe a mechanic that allows item usage (like an assist meter but with items).

Granted, I suck at traditional fighting game so if I ever actually design movesets, they'll probably be in Smash style, haha.

Pretty ****in' good! It's got a nice spread of most of the SEGA IPs that were popular with the core fanbase in that time period, pulling from all their eras. You call this roster safe, but TBH it's certainly more adventurous than most of what I see nowadays, where people just take the SEGA crossover bare essentials and then slap in, like, Persona and Yakuza. Which don't get me wrong, those series are great and have earned their place in any future SEGA crossovers (I myself would have put Kiryu in this roster), I just think it's nice that you bothered to, again, dive in a little deeper and look at the most popular IPs and cult classics from all their eras (instead of, again, just slapping in the super super surface-level ones and then whatever's hot nowadays), which IMO makes for a much more satisfying, more varied, and wider-encompassing roster.

Only real nitpick I have besides "wer dis character" is that I think Zobio/Zobiko could be swapped out for someone else from HotD like G or Busujima

That’s what I had in mind for my Sonic fighting game, though I didn’t have anything in mind for items of stages aside from areas from across the series getting spliced together in visually and musically interesting ways for story reasons.

I still wanna try to work on movesets for this despite my lack of experience

I really put a lot of thought into this, thank you for the detailed feedback.

I agree about Yakuza deserving a spot. I was a little worried about him being a little too similar to fighters like Ryo and Axel but I probably just should've gone with it. He'll definitely be one of the first newcomers in a sequel.

Bayonetta and Persona were also going to be in but I wanted to prioritize other series over my personal faves (and choosing a single Persona ptotag wasn't easy).

Zobio and Zobiko are pretty obscure but I really wanted to give The House of Dead a character and they filled a good niche at being another superheavy fighter and having more clear personalities than most other zombies.
