However it did something that few games seem to be doing and that's not having combat be a numbers game but rather be of actual skill to dodge and strike. Playing it in hard mode proves it. Kinda the annoyance about certain games that I don't think need the numbers looks at Cyberpunk and Horizon Zero Dawn.

I suppose I should go for a quick lie down before the show anyways.

Put up more sketches. This time I drew Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat again. I really like the MK Deception look.



Well, a new character for Smash is actually gonna show up. But people are still gonna be understandably pissed at Nintendo for being an asshole Dinosaur to a lot of their fanbases.

I don't have much experience with racing games outside of Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing, but I'll throw out a list of games that come to mind for the other genres:

Fighting Games: Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Skullgirls, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, the King of Fighters '98, Rivals of Aether

Platformers: Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Mega Man X Legacy Collection (just the first one), Rayman Legends, Sonic Mania, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Guacamelee, Guacamelee 2

Hack-and-Slashes (I feel like this one depends on your definition): Devil May Cry 3, Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, No More Heroes, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Hades (Hades is a rogue-like, but one with a lot of emphasis on melee combat)

Also, not sure if you're into anime, but if you're familiar with the respective series, then Dragon Ball FighterZ (for fighting games) and One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 (for hack-and-slashes) are pretty solid, though both of them take place quite late into the series and don't spend a lot of time getting the audience caught up.

In all seriousness personally I do think ghost of Tsushima was my favorite game that came out this year

I loved its mix of stylistic artist item in the graphics with the realism of recent games it kinda balanced colorful styilyzed world building and a gritty eerily human tragedy. Easily a game that will stick with my personal view on how to build a history and world around my stories

Also the unobtrusiveness of the ui god damm that was some good ui

Call the winds mother****ers we got an island to save

One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 does everything up until Dressrosa(where due to time constraints it gives a non-canon ending) and then playing Pirate Warriors 4 after that is a pretty good summary of the entire series so far. It's not a great representation of what the One Piece series has to offer, and 3 has a huge difficulty spike right at Thriller Bark( I literally spent hours grinding before I could get past that stupid stage), but they're both fun games.

The Game Awards 2020 takes place today, but having celebrities from the movie industry presenting awards feels harmful to the industry.

An editorial about how people from the movie industry and such shouldn't be the ones presenting and I completely agree. It should be certain people like Kojima, Ueda, Cage, Miyazaki and Reggie being the ones handing these out instead of Hollywood actors.

It's kinda a screw you to those who actually built the industry honestly.

Ok, so It is already 7pm and I need to go to bed earlier today because I fell asleep around 5am last night.
As such I won't be able to see the Game Awards live and I would really appreciate It if people in the thread who are catching It live could give me some tags if they announce cool stuff I could be excited for.

Anything Metroid even if It is Fortnite content
Anything SEGA even if It is Smash
Anything Capcom and same as SEGA
Anything about possible Super Mario 3D World news (bonus if the news are Pauline as a playable character)
Halo stuff
Fighter Pack 8 being Pauline, a SEGA character, a Capcom character or Master Chief.
Anything Dragon Quest even if It is a port
