How was your day everyone? Merry Christmas.

In recent years, my family has done the tradition of us all contributing money towards a seafood dinner. We had shrimp and lobster this year. That is our gift to each other. My parents were planning on giving me some money but they ended up paying for the oil change for my car which was nice.

But they’re including Crisis Core in that Ever Crisis game. Weird. I know who genesis is I just didn’t know he was modled after an actor. I’d be fine if they model swapped him or something.

Edit: oh… apparently the guy who Genesis was modeled after has done some not safe for Smashboards ****….. this is why you don’t model game characters after real people Square.

Back when I was a kid playing Fire Red for the first time, I didn't realize Kadabra was a trade evolution so I grinded it to around level 70 trying to get it to evolve before taking on the Elite Four before giving up.

My team had Gyarados, Dragonite and Articuno on it and it ended up being my unevolved Kadabra that was the MVP.

Started Brilliant Diamond and I'm also trying to figure out my team. For reference, my original Diamond team... I'm not too proud of it. I had 2 legendaries and barely any type coverage. I want to fix that. Right now I only have 2 spots on my team occupied:
Piplup
Starly

As for the rest?
I'm 100% going to get a Budew to evolve into Roserade.
I tried running Golem in Heartgold. It didn't work too well. I want to try again but I recognize a trade evolution may not be possible. (for anyone asking to evolve, I haven't caught a Geodude/beaten the first Gym yet so can't trade evolve)
Something that knows a Fire Type attack. Not necessary a Fire Type seeing as the Fire type I used last time was... Rapidash.
A 6th slot that I'll figure out as I go.

I don't get how everyone plans out their team in advance. With me, I just say "Starter" and then maybe one or two definite add ons later, but I always just pick up whatever happens to be there when the need arises. My teams always have some unexpected members by the end of it.

Obviously, your only Fire-type options are Rapidash and Houndoom. Magmortar is also an option if you're playing Shining Pearl. I've decided to compile a list of non Fire-type Pokemon available before post-game that can get one of the Fire-type TMs (Flamethrower, Fire Blast, and/or Overheat) to help you out:

Rest of my Christmas money I'll use to get ear drops and cleaner for my dogs ears as she, unfortunately, suffers from yeast infection that she's been enduring for years.

So… one of my friends who caught COVID last year and ended up a long hauler but got one dose of the vaccine and it alleviated some of their symptoms

… they got it a second time. Oh God I hope they don’t get hospitalized… or worse, die…they have a crappy immune system too

As someone whose immune compromised myself:

I also personally had Covid this year. One thing I was thankful for was I had no symptoms surprisingly. My immunologist said how those with compromised immune systems that get infusions tend to do pretty well. I don’t know your friends situation, but if they are in a similar situation then I would say they should be alright thankfully. if not there’s also monoclonal antibodies which could be set up by doctors and can be pretty effective with the earlier variants. My doctors recommended it to me given my health issues and my family got it to help them out. Obviously that’s for your friend to come to a decision for though.

Either way, I hope they get better soon!
