What I'd 'like' in Ultimate is a Deluxe/GOTY port with all the DLC already included, some QOL touch ups, maybe a few standalone things like a Boss Rush mode and an actually GOOD All-Star Mode, and ya know

Like, no matter what, even if Smash had 100+ characters, you'd be able to point out a handful of characters and say "Oh, we're missing this one and that one"


Sometimes, the best thing to do is to set and end goal and stick to it.

I just don’t want this game to end with this much potential content still on the table. If we were down to like... really obscure indie characters and forgotten franchises or really low priority side characters then I think that’s a fine place to cut it. That or the hard cut off of really setting the world record by including 100 fighter (counting echoes).

That and the longer it keeps going the more chances we have to get to characters I’d really like to see that have no chance otherwise because apparently I am not a part of an exploitative demographic I guess.

Yeah you could do more, but at this point the game has so much I wouldn’t say it needs it.

I’m all for just endlessly updating and porting Ultimate. After something like this they can not seriously expect us to be happy with 24 characters that are mostly first party with like one third party, even if they are all redone and completely different from how they played before. It’s just less game, and you’re gonna charge $60 for about a third of the content? No.

You gotta save some characters for the next smash

You do realize that including echo fighters we’re only 11 away? A third fighters pass of like... 4 characters and 7 new echo fighters in an echo fighters pass (something we’ve all been begging for) and we’ed make it.

Counting each individual hero, Shiny Incineroar, Notched Ear Pichu, Pikachu Libre, Alph and the Koopalings, then we are way past 100.

You're setting Ultimate's standards extremely high because you don't like some of the character choices and holding Ultimate accountable to meet your standards.

We are currently at 106 characters on the roster if we count alt skins, so no worries about reaching 100 characters.

It's gonna be really weird when it's over because the huge hype cycle it has will come to an end, possible this very year. Would I like to see more? I lost count of the amount of “free spaces” I gave my predictions for this pass. I think it was basically half free spaces. And all of those free spaces have been used up and then some. I’m entitled to be more then a little upset. Especially because this DLC has only given me one character I unapologetically really wanted, one character I didn’t know I wanted, and two characters I absolutely hated, with a majority just being whatever. I’m not some obscure fringe demographic and I’m not the only person who wanted these characters. So it’s not unreasonable to think more then a few of them would have come. But they haven’t.

So... completely in line with how every other Smash game has ended?

Just because it’s been that way every single time before doesn’t mean it will be that way forever. And also does not mean that it has ever been a good thing!

3D Sonic needs a win dude. It doesn’t even have to be this groundbreaking, awe inspiring experience like BOTW or Mario Odyssey. Just be good.
