up and down and all around
I'll still be around these parts when all's said and done. I like y'all too much to just up and leave.

Will I be as active as I am now? Probably not, but that's mainly because I already know that this place won't have enough active people to really hang out wiht on a constant basis, y'know? If any of y'all want to chat with me on a platform I'll be more active on after DLC ends, Discord would be the best bet, as I plan on migrating most of my nerd-talk to Smash character Discords for series/characters I like and servers for fan projects I follow.

And when the time comes, I'll send ya guys off with the best farewell song I know:

tbh, I haven’t read Dr. Seuss since I was like 5, so I didn’t know this was an actual quote. I was riding my bike a few months back and just thought of the idea randomly. :drshrug:

To be fair, I didn't know it was a Dr. Seuss quote myself. I just read what you posted, thought to myself "Huh, this sounds pretty familiar...", and searched up the first part on Google.

I'm curious, but I've been hearing this for years now. As someone who returned to Nintendo many years later, what is the vital issue from the satisfactory of Nintendo Switch Online Service? Keep in mind that I go uninformed on these matters.
A lack of legacy games
Nothing past the SNES library, so no Gameboy, GBA, N64
It's meant to replace the Virtual Console yet it's only a fraction of the VC titles

And the online in most games is not good.

When it comes down to it, even if I change my mind and decide to leave after the dlc ends, I still have a community that I can hang out with without really changing what places I frequent.

you should know exactly what community I’m referring to if you know me at all, considering how open I am about it(possibly in a detrimental way):shiro:

They made us pay for online and then have Bandai responsible for half of the servers of the most played games.

I think to add to this as well but it might get buried.

And as much at the same time I want to keep expanding friendships with a few here once I leave, it just feels like I'm forced it out in a way. I'm gonna put this in a spoiler tag since it's a bit personal.

It's honestly because I'm jealous a bit of my other family members who have more or less had the privilege to actually meet their online friends in person. My parent's best friend is literally my American side of my family and it all came from them being close on a few MMOs. And then almost 10 years ago they finally met in person when the best friend came over to Ireland.

My older sibling has met one of his from England and my parent's best friend kid is now like a third brother to him.

And then my younger sibling while having not met his best online friend in person cause pandemic they exchange letters and talk all the time.

I'm not saying I'm making these friendships out of jealousy god no but a part of me wishes it could go further which is why I can get a bit unintentionally pushy when a server becomes quiet and such.

Thought you'd guys know on that.

Regardless of fate, there is about two people from here who I am practically tied now so I'll never be rid of.

When it comes down to it, even if I change my mind and decide to leave after the dlc ends, I still have a community that I can hang out with without really changing what places I frequent.

Well your tied to us my friend and even when I am done, I really hope to hear more of your progress in life to be fair. You have made leaps and bounds in the time I've been since here.

That few month break really did you some good.

it's mostly that you're paying money for truly horrible online connection that you never had to pay for before that made people upset.

The online itself is pretty hit or miss when it comes to game per game, but before we had to pay for it, it was at least excusable because, yknow, it’s free. But now we’re paying $20 a year for it, and it’s still mostly the same garbage.

Adding onto that, most of the extra benefits are pretty small QOL changes that don’t really amount to much(and some, such as backing up your save data, should really be main features of the console itself, without having to pay for Online) and it all adds up to $20 of nothing special.

Thanks everyone ^_^

The lag and delay are pretty annoying in various fighters. This reminds me of the Capcom Vs Snk 2 days on the original Xbox. A bitter time that was and them intentionally lag switching made things worse. You even get madder at them when they disconnect on you should you outcome it. Crazy times. LOL!

Gotta be honest: I straight up do not play Smash online anymore. I haven't since Pyra/Mythra came out.

Probably for the better.
Their release was actually the longest I've played Smash online in about two years, and that was only for a couple of weeks.

Haven't really touched the game itself that much as of late, though.

What I really need to do in Ultimate is to complete the last in-game challenges: Complete 200 Quickplay battles.

Just 40 more

I can't exactly blame you. Smash was too different for me online, which made the progression unrewarding, so I've stopped last year. The mystery lag would surface at times if they were far beyond in health and that was negative nostalgia for me. If I had to add the people here, it would be locally. Also, there are tournaments early year in my state, if I wanted to get my feel of it all. I may consider it.

Honestly I think me not playing as Smash anymore reminds me that I'm not as interested in games as I used to be.

Like outside of Tales of Arise and FFXVI I'm just not as excited for the medium anymore and the rest of the releases that I'm looking forward are just more "tick off the boxes".

The only game I'll admit even that has fully impressed me beyond expectations the past two years (not including re-releases, remakes or ports) or so has been just The Outer Worlds and Ghost of Tsushima really but in contrast anime has been far more impressive in terms of grabbing my attention.

I'm no longer the kid who would buy like 6 full-priced games in one week, stay up 20 hours and fall asleep in the middle of class but still manages to finish his work.

I miss 2017.
