It's Alt + 0233. But I actually don't have a number pad on my new laptop so I found a program that lets you set your own shortcut codes for various actions called AutoHotkey. That may be an easier alternative if you can't memorize the Alt code and care enough to bother. (Ctrl + ' + E also works, but it doesn't work in Firefox, which is usually where I'm typing Pokémon.)

alt + 130 also seem to work for me, whether it's Explorer, Firefox, or whatever I'm using to get that "é".

Chrome is the slowest browser between the big four, it only wins in terms of Javascript speed. Opera is faster than Firefox, but Firefox has way more extensions.

Nightly is faster than both, both only has like 5 working extensions for the latest version.

IE9 is marginally faster than Chrome 14, but that's not really saying much because it's IE.

Yeah, just saw the facts on this too. Oh well :/ I'm willing to make memory & speed sacrifices for the sheer usability of Chrome. Extensions install without restart, nifty usability features... the only thing that still really annoys me with Chrome is its lack of a scrollable tab bar. The tabs just keep shrinking with each new one you open, until you can't even see the icons. Ugh

I just did a fresh boot of Chrome and added up all the processes. One tab was 230MB.

haha hm

i stopped using opera

i forgot why

i think it's because chrome was even simpler

edit: yeah, just looked at opera's latest featured vid. looks like both it and IE9 both went in chrome's design direction. to the freakin T. safari as well. (unless opera/safari did it first???? doubt it!)

I don't know how optimize-able a new tab is in Chrome but I get to do lotsa **** with it
Like this

Not to mention way awesome extensions like a mouse-over picture preview (you can see the picture linked just by hovering over the link), youtube downloader, skins for Opera are pretty rad overall, there's Opera Turbo which boosts your internet speed if you have a bad connection (it's ****ing magic), there's a note feature that allows you to add notes to Opera itself, Opera can be used to download torrents, it obviously has incognito tabs and those are just some things off the top of my head.

That's pretty awesome. I think I want to try Opera now, might keep it if it has awesome extensions. Chrome is probably going to keep me hooked though, there's this awesome extension called Iconized Bookmarks Popup where you click a button next to the address bar and all of your bookmarks come up as icons. You can set your own icons too, and it's perfect for me because it's so minimalist and efficient.

Not to mention Chrome's automatic addon/script installs. So legit. Literally anything from userscripts.org or a Chrome extension site install automatically and are immediately useable. That's one of the things that kept me from going back to FF after trying Chrome.
