Just because I'm not standing there waiting for you to move doesn't mean I don't have any mind games. Stop being so close minded.

I'm going to assume many people don't have school on Monday, and I'll be busy on Saturday. Is everyone cool with having a meeting on Sunday? Also, if anyone can find a place to host the meeting, let me know.

Actually, how does a meeting at CCX sound? It'll be $5 again, but it'll give us a good time to look at the venue one more time to see what we want, especially with all the new changes to the tournament.

Muz, if you could, please print a copy of the rules and the fees for entering the tournament, including spectator and late fee's. These should be displayed at the store in case locals wish to know more.

Also, I've done my research for crew battles and have some ideas to make Smashtality's event somewhat unique than FC6's. So please come to the meeting to share your ideas.

Lastly, if any members wish to submit logo entries, this weekend is the last weekend to do it. Procrastination is not an excuse.

I'm looking at YOU, Copycat. Speaking of which, we're in for MLG Teams and I'm in for Singles.

Edit:

lol my dog:

All right folks, a few updates.

We're going to be using a new tournament program called "TIO," created by Neal Terrell. The program is a lot better than the Tournament Maker, and we can now do pools easily thanks to its round robin feature.

It does, however, work quite differently from Tournament Maker, and if you'd like to have a copy, I can put up a compressed file online. (I forget the link Aho gave me for me to download.)

I've been working on this program all night, trying out different scenerios so I know how the program functions. I've discovered that its better to use 1st and 2nd prizes only for crew battles, and that it might be easier to do 2 matches of 3 stock in pools.

Now, if you'd like to have the program, the best way to get it from me is through AIM. I'd like Muz/Mud and anyone else interested in helping out behind the computer at the tournament to know this program, and I can explain more easily about how it works if we have to.

However, because we have so much to do (4 events in total), I've decided that I'm not entering the tournament for the sake of proper organization. Muz/Mud, please enter if you really want to, though I'll ask for your assistance when I really need to. We really won't need more than one behind that computer, though I'll consider entering Crew battles if need be.

As for pools and crew battles, I need every single member's help to be able to organize things properly, such as supervising the matches and recording stock. I'll try to manually edit the pools so at least one TSA member is in that pool, and any extra pools can be supervised by CCX Staff. I will explain more that Friday night we meet or that morning.

Lastly, I forget to mention things about name tags and such. Most likely, we can do it the same way as last time if you want.

Since we won't be able to meet by then, please post here if you have any other concerns.

As for MLG NY, so far, I heard that me, Copycat, Sneak, and Sensei are going. HBK showed interest in my myspace, but I haven't heard from him since then. Is there anyone else that's going?

I've been doing some calculations and I've come to the conclusion that we can either do 8 pools or 16 pools. We'll take the top 8 from the former and top 4 from the latter. This will give us exactly 64 players.

I've spoken to some people, and even if there are some uneven pools (For example, with 8 pools, all the pools have 10 except two, which have 11 people), we would still take the top 8 or 4 no matter what. I think this will work out either way, and we'll even out the pools as much as we can.

16 pools would be amazing and quick, so we need to shoot for this many setups.

Edit:

I've been thinking about the schedule and I think we should be more specific on things and what to do, so here is a general idea of what I came up with:

Members and People Bringing Setups - Come as early as 8 AM
Registration - 10 AM
Opening Ceremony - 11:15 AM
Crew Battle Starts - 11:30 AM, assuming this is a 2 hour event
1v1 Pools - Immediately after Crew Battles. 2 PM? Depending on whether we choose 16 pools or 8 pools, this can last either an hour or two hours. I'll assume the latter.
Break time - Immediately after 1v1 Pools. 30 minute break. Depending on how we decide to do pools, it will probably begin at 4 PM. At this time, we'll be working the Singles Brackets, as Doubles is easy to do, and Crew Battles will already be over.
Perfect Control 2 Premiere - 4:20 PM, or 10 minutes before break is over.
2v2 Begins - 4:30 PM. Assuming this is a 2 hour event
1v1 Begins - 7:00 PM. We do this as quickly as we can and get it over with. 64 man bracket can be done in 2 -3hours if done quickly and efficiently imo. Could end by 10 PM.

And there we have it. 4 events in a one day, and it looks to be 12 hours straight.

Any questions?

unfortunately i won't be at mlg due to my boss just asking me to work that day :/

i'm gonna download the program and play around with it till I get it down good. Actually I'm not entering doubles or singles. Right now I see our members in the crew battle will be Woz, Cactuar, Sensei, EL, and HBK. Woz, I really want you to play in the tourney you gotta represent TSA man, and we know you are the most well rounded amongst us. it'll be sad if we dont show up in the top 10 at our own tourney!

and yes, TA rox

ps-is it strange that i already had 2 dreams about Smashtality?

Pakman and I will be there.
I don't know if I can go. I have family events planned for that day. They had rescheduled so I could go to MLG, so I can't really just not go. Cactuar, if Velocity is going maybe you should try and get a ride from him, but this weekend is really bad for me.

Idea. Suicide Fox tells me that a 2 sets of pools and a 32 man bracket is a lot faster than one set of pools and a 64 man bracket. Meaning, we can do 16 pools and take top 4 first, then 8 pools of 8 and take top 4 from that. Would you prefer this way instead?

Muz refuses to play against my young link cause I "throw too many projectiles" and am "annoying" lol. If I pick y link he literally will get up and leave the room. I think the real reason is cause he hates losing??? Can someone please tell him to stop being so grimey?

hows mlg? :)

I'm making some last minute additions to the rules.

1st round picks for characters are BLIND PICK. That means that you have to whisper who your choice of character is for the 1st round to an official. This prevents counterpicking.

Also, all pool matches will be double blind pick for the 1st match and for the 2nd match in case someone wants to change a character.
