Really, everyone's furry when it comes down to it, just to different degrees.

Words like Cougar, and Foxy, and Minx, when describing a woman are all derived from animals, and are a form of animalization of people. Kinda' like personification, but the other way around.

More often than not, when a girl is associated with an animal, it's as a compliment, or intended to be sexy. But, that's the broad interpretation of furry I suppose.

Furry can range from all sides of the spectrum: Your basic typical cat-girl... all the way to full-blown this.

I suppose what makes furry hard to understand for some people is that they're not human, like other cartoon characters. Really, thinking Nala is hot is no less crazy than wanting to hook up with Samus. People fall in love with a character, regardless of whether they're real, or even possible.



But then again, that's the draw of fantasy, no?

Ya, labeling ppl is hard enough as it is and to label a group and draw a simple definition is pretty complicated. As for groups such as furries, it has become to broad to have a single definite definition. It has so many bad connotations that it's nearly impossible for a "sane" person to say he appreciates or associates himself a bit with the fandom without being ridiculed or utterly labeled as a "f**king furf*g" and every worse definition and idea construed from it (I myself included).

Although, as Espy said, there are far, far, other worse things out there, especially on the internet, that should be feared way more than this group, it's just that the furry fandom has grown exponentially in the past couple of years, thus getting more attention.
