Another Pyrosphere shot, another Ridley-less night for us supporters. Nice to hear from Skrai however that Samus's charge shot might be worth it again, after Brawl nerfed the hell out of it.

Oh look, still no Ridley. Yeaaaah, I think we can lean safely back for now.

I'm just waiting to see whenever or not there's a stage hazard for Pyrosphere and if so, what it is. If we see that the hazard is lava (or something else entirely that doesn't involve Ridley as a stage hazard), I will feel a lot more confident in Ridley's chances.

As I've said, I think you're waiting for nothing then. I'm pretty sure it's a neutral stage, else it'd definitely have been shown by now, I'm sure of it, and if that's not the case, then everybody on this world has the right to taunt me.

Aside from the pic looking pretty cool, the update was also kinda nice in the sense of telling how they're improving Samus again (making the charge shot faster).

That's why I had some doubts about the whole thing to begin with. Sakurai has never confirmed a mechanic or anything like that without showing it first, unless it's been in an interview, and there's no reason to either. It's just not in characer of Sakurai to state something like that, he was obviously pointing towards what happened in Other M. Also, Lucario was also teased beforehand, I believe it was Golden who had the exact quote, Sakurai referred that there was a character in SSE that had an ability to tell whether someone was good or not, which later proved to be Lucario. Sonic was also hinted, incredibly vaguely though, with some kind of "true heroes always arrive late" notion, refering to his late development, late confirmation on the Dojo, and late arrival in SSE.

It does look ugly; I take it the model's not fully loaded, or implemented in the build for balance testing...

The hole itself is modeled and extends quite a ways back, as shown in this picture:

The game is still in development afterall...

I said it before, but it's possible we haven't seen Ridley for the same reason we've never seen any new character in a plain DOJO update. He's far more likely to be revealed during a more crucial moment, most likely during a trailer. Much less likely during a veteran character reveal, but that would also count. For now though, the best we'll get is stages and the occasional item should Sakurai be sooooo generous.
