Important The Ridley for SSB4 Thread - End of an Era

It's very unlikely in my opinion for there to be a "bait-in-switch" on the Pyrosphere. I'm pretty sure if there is a hazard on the stage, it's most likely Ridley. However, a disregard of that would be humorous and damning, a would convince me 100% that Ridley is playable.
No better way for Ridley detractors to be massively butthurt. Too good to be true.

No wonder Ridley hasn't been playable for so long. He's too busy cleaning up after Sakurai's "mess".Found this in the leak thread, could not resist sharing it.

I think it's possible that Roidley is the Pyrosphere boss and Classic Ridley/Brawley is the playable character. I'm sure everyone here is aware that canonically, Roidley is a clone. It wouldn't be much of a stretch. Sakurai is known to be very accurate with franchise lore.
Although. This wouldn't explain why he was scaled down so much, so I'm probably wrong.

Before, I wished that was the case, but I don't mind Roidley anymore, as long as Ridley (whatever design they choose) is playable.
I actually posted that guy's quote a few pages back, did you see the part where someone calls him out on his bullcrap and he backpedals like hell

Probably not. Just like how Comic Con did not reveal a character. Though it would be nice if it did.

Even if Ridley doesn't make it I'm glad I came here and joined up. At least here you can discuss Ridley and acknowledge that he may just be a boss but still think his chances are good. The overall positivity keeps my hopes up. Sakurai just needs to show us Ridley one way or the other already before I go crazy(ier).

i really hope we get a direct announcement this week... there desperately needs to be one revealing ridley soon... especially after the hell this thread just went through.

Maybe we are getting a Direct. They're just going to show off this more thoroughly in a Direct to come out within the next week, followed by a Smash Direct right before the Japanese 3DS release. We'll have to see how things go, though. There's definitely been a lot of news lately, I'm shocked we haven't gotten a Direct yet.

Ridley supporter list confirmed playable?
Personally I'm starting to think that a Roidley boss and Ridley playable combination would be very interesting, and it would give them the best trolling chance to ever exist, showing off Roidley as a boss on pyrosphere in a direct, going through the rest like nothing happened, then just slipping in an actual Ridley reveal trailer at the end.

I apologized if this sounds in any way like treason, but I've made my vote in the Project M clone engine thread as a back-up plan in case Ridley is disconfirmed, I'll be honest, I feel more at ease knowing that I've helped in securing his role as playable, no matter what. I suppose that it's better than nothing. But you'd think it'd be for the best to wait. So that we wait for Ridley to be confirmed or deconfirmed as playable. If he is, then the Project M guys can make another character that people want without adding one of Smash 4's characters.

I know some people are hoping that soon we will get a certain space pirate revealed in a pic of the day or, even more preferred, a trailer, but honestly I am liking seeing more about the actual game modes and features. I am hoping in the next few days he explains that...3d top battle thing(?) we saw during the E3 digital event.
I am by no means against a reveal, I just like learning more about the different ways we can play the game too. Maybe after Ridleys murdering is done for the week he will grace us with his presence.

I imagine their tails will change/get covered by the tanooki tail. Though, Charizards fire keeps it alive, so does the tanooki leaf...kill it? o__O And would a character like Ridley, who I cant see not using his tail ALOT, get his moveset limited by the item? I think it would be neat to make it so certain characters want to avoid certain items, it means people have to pay more attention to not just where items spawn, but WHAT items spawn.

POTD. No sign of Ridley, so I guess that's a good thing. We've only got two and a half weeks left until the japanese release, so we'll find out our commander's fate soon enough
