You know you just doomed us with the X-Parasites right? Hopefully Samus would get here in time and would not do something that causes our Planet to blow up.
Has Samus ever left a planet without it blowing up?

I really hope we get to play the Genuine article Ridley and not any of his clones.

Would any of you guys/gals be offended if you got to play as clone ridley?
I would be perfectly happy. I happen to like Roidley's design quite a bit.

why do people keep hoping for "original ridley"? we've already seen other M ridley's tail and shadow... if we're getting one, im pretty sure its him.

personally, i kinda like other m ridley's appearance.

all that really matters is that ridley is playable... we'd be extremely lucky if that is the case, lets not be picky about WHICH ridley we want.

So my sleeping schedule has taken a toll from all the hype. I stay up all night only to see what the PotD is so I know I can sleep in peace if it has nothing to do with Ridley.

Do the PotD actually have a set time? Or is it just sometime in the next two hours?

I was joking, guys.

Although I think Super Metroid does give some evidence to the theory that if she fails to blow a planet up the first time, she's willing to return to finish the job.

Eh, seeing as the original is dead, I consider the clone to be Ridley, regenerated from a single cell. It would explain why he retains his memories.

What? It's not all that far-fetched when the guy's been cybernetically upgraded and mutated by Phazon.
Errmm, I certainly don't remember any pieces of evidence that suggested the cloned Ridley has the original's memories. I still would rather have the original that has all his experience and underworldly connections.

I think my biggest problem with the cloned Ridley is that he came from an atrocious game that had so much more potential.

Here is a question:

How will you guys train your Ridley Amiibo?
Well you know you have to start early and socialize them otherwise they will walk all over you, thinking they run the place. You gotta be the pack leader. Be in control.

what was the question

Given that Roidley dies in Other M, I'm guessing that the original Ridley survives to appear in the later games. It was original Ridley which was copied by the X Parasites after all.

Actually, the dried husk of Roidley was transferred to the BSL and later copied by the X during the events of Fusion.

I really hope he some how bs-ingly retains his memories. Or is just alive. But yeah, if he doesn't retains his memories, his species must just be insanely naturally intelligent. And have an instinctual grudge against anything orange. :chuckle:

And that's how Ridley returns for the next metroid game. Revived husk. I'd love for him to have a zombie like effect. Not rotting in anyway, but more colorless and what not. That would be so cool, also they could expand on what the clone and the ORIGINAL GANGSTA have in common and confirm the shared memory thing a bit further. Also the revival of Kraid please.

I was thinking about this. On an evolutionary basis, Ridley's species shouldn't have any reason to be so intelligent. They can fly, breathe fire, and they have sharp claws with a spiked tail. Therefore, the only reason they would need that much intellect is if every other predator on that planet is much, much more dangerous.

Anything with half a brain would already single out Samus as the biggest threat in that situation.

I think intelligence is a natural trait. He's a dragon. Dragons are not stupid creatures. They're some of the longest lived, most cunning, most ruthless entities in fiction.

And that's what people like about Ridley; he and many other Nintendo bad guys are always beaten badly, but just when you think it's safe, they're not going to give up anytime soon! :):bowsermelee::ganondorfmelee::bowser2::ganondorf:
...Come to think of it... Bowser's looking pretty lonely in Smash 4 right now...:4bowser: If Mewtwo isn't confirmed, that's it, I'll be saying Charizard :4charizard:can represent the bad guys of Pokémon. (Then again, no Pokémon is good or evil. It's only their Trainers that get corrupted and use them for evil.) And we've yet to see Ganondorf, not to mention King Dedede isn't really a bad guy anymore...:4dedede:

In the manga Ridley was given a "Better than Everyone" attitude and a one pure race mentality. He probably thought this because on his home planet he was top dog, and lady evolution had treated him and his species kindly. Giving them not only immense superiority in power, but incredible intellect and knowledge. This also causes him to lose when he meets someone with more capability and strategy than him. I.E Samus. Just a theory none the less.

Are you sure? Playing through that scene again, the husk that collapses does not look like Roidley. Nor does the copied X form.

Even when the clone was a baby it watched Samus and knew she was the most dangerious, clone Ridley is just a monster taking out the biggest threat to him.

You heard me, cloned Ridley is just a monster, he does not compare to the genuine article.

He is telling the truth, the reason it doesn't look identical is just the creative art style for the game changing over time.

I hope you're being sarcastic, really. Salamence already has "mega pokemon" stats.

Edit: Ugh. And the design is terrible. Let's hope Ridley never gets a Mega Stone.

That, or his species broke up into two factions and were at constant war with each other. This forced them both to evolve just to survive against the other. Oooorrrrr... Space Pirates like to improve genetics. I like the former, because it makes me imagin millions of Ridleys fighting millions of Ridley relatives. :denzel:

Or what if, and hear me out on this, Roidley only followed up on memory as he grew? He had no idea who Samus was when he was a baby or in adolescence, because Ridley only met Samus when he was in full grown adult hood. Maybe somehow Roidley only followed the path of Genuine Ridley's memories without retaining them all from the start, gaining piece by piece every day.

I think I'm wrong on this, but didn't mother brain improve his intelligence so that he would be more useful? Ridley's species isn't even know to the galaxy.

There is nothing to based this on, and like I said, the little birdy(Ridley) was watching Samus for a great deal of time and even tricked her into killing off a hive of monster so it could eat their Honey.

The clone remembered how dangerious she was and employed her, and later went after her because of such danger to him.

You may be wrong. But for all I know, you may be right. I just play the games, I'm not big on Metroid's backstory. You honestly could have told me Ridley was a distant relative to the Chozo and I wouldn't be able to argue

In the manga, that's gonna be brought up a lot as it's where we get the most info on Ridley outside of characteristics, Ridley showed signs of increased intelligence and leadership before he even met mother brain during the attack on K-2L.

EDIT------------
I dunno though, it's also suggested Mother Brain is controlling Ridley and the space pirates in the super metroid manual. Continuity and lore is hard. :(
