ok so I've been in love with Pokemon since the beginning. My dad got me all the cards and even used to play the card game with me as a way to bond. He bought me the original Pokemon Stadium and would stay up untill 2 in the morning playing the games with me. We would battle and then go and play suchi-go-round; it was our thing.

When we discovered my little brother was really good at soccer, the world began to revolve around it. My dad didn't play video games with me or hang out with me as much. I didn't mind it, but I always just felt a closeness to him that wasn't really there anymore. That's around the time I met SauceKay. (he was pinkbowser when I met him)

One of the things that brought us together was our love of Pokemon and trying to see who knew more about what. (I always won) In the grand scheme of things Pokemon is probably down at like 149,026,387, butto me it brought me close to people who I love very much.

Yeah, Iloved all of that stuff around middle school age. Only the video games have stuck with me until now though. I also have fond memories of me and my sister playing together and mom and/or dad watching me sometimes, but gaming has really been a "by myself" experience for me overall.

i love pokemon.

i still play it to this day. i hate the battle system for being slow in boring, but that's really my only complaint today about the games. the rest is still good.

i'm glad it's not a fad anymore though. but it's still very popular

The power of Pokemon was so strong in my primary school, they had to ban it 'cause people started stealing each others cards. :dizzy:

I loved Pokemon back when there were only 150 (151 if you included Mew) then I grew up
/sad
Same with me.

I got a Pokemon Blue for Easter when I was young. Addicted to it ever since. And I get so stuck up on a perfect Nature for my Pokemon when I play through the story, even though it doesn't really matter for the story part. :3

My church told my family it's satanic and I didn't get to play it for years. Now I play competitive stuff.

The end.
Same thing, just shorten it from "years" to "months." Then my Dad actually played the game, we stopped attending that church shortly after.

**** I have been dying to find that site that has all the pokemon as humans, found it once and never again haha.

anyways pokemon is mostly an on and off thing for me now. I usually play it whenever a new game comes out, but lose interest a good while after. Im into the competitive stuff but its only really fun when me and my irl friends play it for some reason. Remembering playing pokemon with my friends when i was much younger are some of the fondest memories i have, we use to try to do all the crazy rumors on the internet and all kinda crazy stuff.

I'm also going to a Pokemon Party tomorrow. What a strange coincidence. o_0

Got hooked on the show at a very young age, got some cards (didn't understand them), then finally got myself a Silver version. G/S/C is still one of my favorite games of all time to this day. I <3 it so much.

As for competitive Pokemon........I tried to get into it, but found it kind of ridiculous. All the EV/IV/Natures garbage, the clauses that ban like half of the in-game content, and the emphasis on pure luck made me drop it all together. I'd rather just play the in-game journey with Pokemon I actually like. Me and my friends just battle with casual teams consisting of level 30-ish Pokemon, and it's a blast. Lot's of room for experimentation and what-not.

It was rad as hell cause it used a sword... well, as close as you can come to a sword in a game for kids. G/S/C is and will forever be my favorite generation... two regions, and the Kanto region is cool because it shows you how it had changed since first gen.

It uses what looks like a leak, Marowak uses a bone club. Sonic had a sword in one of his terrible games clearly aimed at kids.

Bustin' chops is fun.

Scyther was indeed beast.

So beast, in fact, that come 2nd Gen he got too beastly and they had to de-beast him. Thus, Scizor was born.

I ain't hatin' Scizor but Scyther is obv > him

I find it humorous when people suggest competitive pokemon is 'Child's Play', considering it has (or had) more strategy then chess, specifically in the UU/NU environment. Because a Charizard with Ember, Flamethrower, Overheat, and Fire Blast is not an unbeatable combination.
I used to be an avid player myself, specifically in making UU's and NU's to compete in the OU environment. And sadly enough, this franchise garnered me a friend or two.

I used Typh on my Sunny Day team because Specs Eruption under the sun 2HKO'd blissey(although with the advent of Calm specially defensive blissey it's no longer a guarantee without rocks *sigh*)

Also, Choice Band Staraptor. **** is BEAST. Should be OU.
