Hey, after Snake was confirmed I believe Sakurai said there would 2-3 more 3rd party characters. So Megaman and Pac-Man could both make it. I mean, Sakurai got one character of his choice, the fans got one character of their choice, now there should at least be a video game legend. *COUGHpacmanCOUGH* Anyway, it will be a major letdown for me if Pac-Man doesn't make it. I think he has earned a spot in Brawl, don't you?

I really support seeing Pac-man in Brawl. He is one of the most well known characters in gaming alongside Mario and Sonic. He deserves to be on the Brawl stage with them.

It was 1 to 2, not 2 to 3, though we all wish it was. Who knows though? The number is not necessarily set in stone; it's all up to Sakurai and what he wants to do.

(ignoring the craptacular 3D games) Perhaps he could be some sort of weapon or item though. You deploy the yellow blob and he hunts down other real chars for about five seconds. Yeah, that's proof enough. Back up your reasons, that isn't really a good reason for Pac-Man not to be in, just because you don't like him. Honestly, everywhere I go the only people who don't want Pac-Man in or don't think he'll be in just because they don't like him. They always say Pac-Man is dumb and they never have REAL reasons to why Pac-Man won't (or as they say "SHOULDN'T") be in. Seriously, if you don't like him, take it to another board because this is called the Pac-Man SUPPORT thread. Tales of is easily one of Namco's biggest series, and the Pac-Man creator just retired with the championship edition. I dunno, I just feel like a Tales character might get a Namco spot (if there is one) because of the ToS sequel on the Wii.

Yup Pac-Man's chances look pretty good. This can be like how Sonic was announced. As soon as I found out he'd be in the olimpic game with Mario I was sure that Sonic was going to get in and then he was announced. So I can see this happening for Pac-Man too. Plus I would like to see him get a stage too. That would be interesting....

His stage could be a maze although I don't know how that could work. Do you really think Pac-Man could make it in over Megaman if there is only one more third party character?

Megaman and Samus both have arm cannons. That's about how similar they get. Even then, the cannons function differently.

dreamfiend633: i actually think there will be at least 4 3rd party characters, so i think there's plenty of room for Pac-Man and Megaman. if there were only room for one, i do think that Pac-Man might just beat him out as i imagine it'd be easier to secure Pac-Man on reasonable terms than it would be to secure Megaman. but i could be wrong.

Even casual or old gamer know about him... There is so much reference to Pacman, in movies (Robin Hood), series (Friends ?), well...
Pacman is certainly as famous as Mario !

Sonic is in an other game with Mario and Pacman too.
So, why Sonic should be in Brawl and not our little yellow buddy ?

The moveset is not a good reason guy, do you think that you could easily find a moveset to G&W when you play with a Game & Watch ?

Well, if you could, you could easily find one for pacman too.

Easier to secure Pac-Man than Megaman? What do you base that off of? Every business deal is different and Namco could be ***** just like Capcom could be *****.

All I'm saying is, in Namco x Capcom, which was made by Monolith Soft which Namco owned at the time, Pac-Man was no where to be found. He was only a statue in front of a theater in an early level. I don't know why Namco wouldn't include their most popular character in their own cross-over game though.

Also, a Tales of game was just released for the DS, and there is an upcoming one for the Wii, which is a sequel to their Gamecube one. The only Tales games being released on the Sony systems are re-releases and ports.

Actually, since Nintendo owns Monolith now, does that give them free reign over all their games, or do the characters that are developed for other systems still remain the parent company's property?

I will say this: Pac-Man would definitely be easier to secure. Nintendo's already made a Pac-Man game recently (which Namco remade for Namco Museum DS), and he has been featured in two Mario Kart games, along with Blinky and Tamagotchi (Tamagotchi in the second MK Arcade game).
