Ok, I'm finally back. Once balladechina comes back in a day or so, we'll figure something out. If all fails then you guys could probably roll up to Charleston (or us to Madison) and we could just have a smashfest and see how well it works out.

Ok I'm back. We are going to have a tournament sometime between now and June 30th, whether it be in Charleston, Madison, or elsewhere. Let's use this thread to throw around some dates and locations for this tournament.

killaxmayne, please check on that ASAP. It would be wonderful to have it in Madison again. If not, we need to know soon so we can organize something else.

BECAUSE WE ARE SMASHING THIS WEEKEND...NO DOUBT.

I will have an answer tomorrow. We haven't had a SmashFest in a while at my dad's. I just hope it doesn't leak and a lot of uninvited guests in my area show up. (it happens very often)

We have had over 20 up there before; it is a rather large house. An idea of the people who show up uninvited are some of the people who got mad and left the tourney from Madison. They also tried to distract people with porn during the last tourney in Madison, if you remember.

Oh ok, that sounds pretty good then. I guess what I was wondering is if we can bring our whole crew down as well as a few other smashers from our area (and I guess the players in huntington/clarksburg too). Probably would be around 15-25 depending on how many people from your area attend.

Definitely let us know soon if it's going down. It's sounding pretty good so far. Then we can work out rules and that kind of stuff.

Also, I'd like to record some matches if you don't mind. If the turn up is good, I'm thinking on the lines of finals, and perhaps winners and losers bracket finals (and friendlies if people want). Do you have a VCR hooked up to a TV that we'll be using? I can bring mine just in case.

I actually have the materials to record though it is through a laptop. I'll see if I can pull it off. It may not start until like 7 P.M. It all just depends on what time my father gets off work.

My main concern is parking. I was thinking that if it gets too crowded, we could do a "shuttle" system as my dad lives in the subdivision behind McDonalds' (and a grocery store).

Lol, I am unsure but we can play all night if we wanted to. A little off topic but are any of you guys going to the Governor's Honor Academy?

It is more than likely that if we play, we could get started around 5:30 or 6:00.

If it started around 5:30, that wouldn't be too bad. The earlier the better. That's a solid 5 hours of smash, which is enough for a tourney and some friendlies, if there are enough setups. How many TVs will we be able to use anyway? We can bring a few GCs, but we should probably need to know how many TVs we'll be using. Also, I don't mind bringing a VCR, i did for the last tournament. It would probably be easier for me because I can hook it up to my computer and upload them pretty easily. But if you can get the laptop to work, then that might be ok too. It's your call.

Anyway, let us know if we can do this so we can start preparing.

Is this Friday or Saturday? Either would be good, but I might be late if on Friday. Also I might be able to get a few guys from Clarksburg down here.

Nice, I'm going to GHA. What's the specific rule on bringing game systems? I heard from a friend last year that they had DDR but I want Smash (obviously) and Guitar Hero too.

Alright, we are allowed to play this weekend. We have three T.V.s that we can use and a rather large area to use it. My dad gets off work around 5:00 so that would put us playing around 6:00. It would be nice if everyone brought a controller or two due to the fact that mine blow. (Be sure to mark them)

The only real problem would be parking. The subvision is rather crammed because of all of the houses and around four or five vehicles will really fit. If that is the case, we could have some guys park down at Krogers' and we could "shuttle" them up.

I may will post directions later.

My father's cell is 549-1759.

Directions: 119 south until you get to the Magic Mart/BP/Subway exit....it's the red light past Rock Creek exit but before you get to the Jill Micah Hess Memorial Bridge....anyway...Keep on that road until you get to McDonald's and then make a left and follow that street past Kroger's and then keep going until you see a log house on the left. It's kinda up on the hill away from the road. Just pull in the driveway unless you're blocking the neighbors.

Ok do we have a ruleset? I guess we can use the one from last time as a general example. You can find that here:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=98007

But what about entry fee, and should we bring money for food/drinks? I'm thinking $5 entry and split up 70/20/10 amongst 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. But we can figure something else out if you guys want.

Our crew isn't 100% on going yet, but there's a chance we can bring about 4 of us. If we can confirm that, I'll let you know.

The one last time should work fine. $5 entry should also work out well. We could maybe set another small entry fee that would help buy drinks but we could always just walk or drive to McDonalds'.

Can I get an idea on how many people are going? Killa, how many people from Madison do you expect to show? And The Oddity, do you plan on going and bringing anybody?

Yeah, we should probably have a small venue fee so we can order pizza (or get mcdonalds, or whatever) and get drinks.

Maybe around just 5-7 people from Madison. I can get more probably but I know that the "West Virginia Coal Festival" is going on and a few people that would normally play have to attend.

I couldn't get a hold of anybody from Clarksburg to come down, and I'm still on the fence as to if I'm coming. I'll keep you updated.

EDIT: Alright, I'm as good as there, but I doubt anybody I know will be there. Is there anything I need to bring, I can bring a controller or two. Also, how long is it going to last?

Yeah, it looks like we're not going to be able to make it this time. We're currently unable to get a ride there. Make sure to keep us posted in the future with smashfests down there (as we will for you) because we definitely want to make it sometime. Anyway, let us know how this one goes down. If you guys do this pretty much every week, then we'll definitely make it sometime. I guess there's still a chance we can do it before GHA.

Yeah, we're sorry we couldn't show (especially since we wanted to meet some of the other smashers like Captain Redbeard). How did it go? Who were some of the best there?

Jacob (Peach) was in the Winners' Bracket. RedBeard was good but he had to leave after the start of the Losers' Bracket. I did fairly well and was third according to how to tournament went. (Jacob, RedBeard, and I)

Well Mexican has definitely gotten a ton better since then. I'd like to see a rematch between him and Jacob. Probably would be a pretty good match. Hopefully we can get a smashfest going soon, if not soon then definitely in late july/august.

Ok, so there are a couple of us here at GHA and we'll be back July 22nd. Although I'll probably get a job when I come back, I would like to have some sort of tournament open to everyone in WV (and elsewhere if they wish) after we get back some time in early August. Perhaps we could do what you guys did in Madison again if you guys would host another tournament. One thing though, we here in Charleston would prefer to have it during the day (noon to 10pmish) if possible because that would allow our parents to let us go.

Ok, now that most people are in town now, I think we should get something going soon. I think balladechina mentioned something about a tournament on August 4th? Also, The Oddity, are you still in town and up for smashing? Let's see if we can get something going soon.

I won't be back in town until the 6th, so the weekend after may be possible. Also, the kids up in Clarksburg may be able to make it a tourney that weekend the one after.
