yesterday was the first tourney set i ever went all mk in! nooooooooooooooo

used all rob except lie i went all mk. lost 0-2 but was very close both matches, and did a lot better than i would have with rob. i HATE the falco matchup and lie is amazing

did very good though in all of the other sets. i 2-0'd omni and gimr with rob among other players

I went to a seven-days tournament, but just attended the four last ones. 9th was my best result(not sure about the number of entrants). However, they were all single bracket. So, I didn't play many matches and will not post the results because single bracket tournaments are not recommended(the brackets were this way because there was not enough time).

Nevertheless, I played some Money Matches.

Same happened to me at a free tourney at a smash-fest this last weekend.
I will try to get videos
I lost to him in winners bracket 1-2
then in Grand Finals 0-3
I think by then since it was 8:30 or so and I would have to win 2 sets to win(there was nothing on the line either) I was kind of tired and making lots of stupid mistakes.
Of course that is not to say I could have won though. But at least maybe gotten a game on him.

I won the 256 entrant FFA (1v1 top 16) at Avcon in Adelaide Australia with ROB and the 80+ team 2v2 with DJBrowny using MK (I was also ROB). :D

i split for first place, though I didnt go all rob (went ZSS in losers finals for the first 3 games)

Mr Eric, the diddy matchup is just a game of item control, you need to find a diddy/zss to practice against.

Yeah I know it's all about trying to keep momentum from the didz, it's like I can do rly well with it on some days, and other...I malfunction or something. Perhaps I let the momentum overwhelm me and get narrowminded. No Diddys nearby tho...Kentucky is bleh =/

The Diddy MU is also a matter of knowing all of his baits/punishes, banana OoS is a ridiculously fast punish, along with most of his attacks.

and heres my johns about my performance:

I think it should be mentioned that Chi and me made pools, Hilt and others were out to lunch and since we were limited on time and Daycia couldn't do it alone AND there were no other experienced TOs in the building we decided to step it up.

Though as a result of me advertising the live stream and them making pools, I had to skip lunch which along with my lack of sleep the night before and crazy stress getting lost in cinci for an hour finding the place, directly related to my poor performance.

but I would like to thank everyone (Keist, Nope, and other TOs) who have let me sit in on pools/bracket making in the past, and taught me the method.

I'm not putting anyone down or trying to be a jerk, but I feel like it should be at least be mentioned for a little credit for our effort.

but the other Beepos did great <3 good sh*t Eric for beating Infern and Tako for beating me.

ROB dittos are the dumbest thing, I've also had my first taste of MK success in pools at this tourney and I doubt It'll be the last...

More than a month removed from any competitive play whatsoever and I screwed around with DK in bracket more than I even played ROB. I have no shame in my placing this past weekend. I'll get back to my normal routine for OUGA or whatever I happen to attend in August.

Now I'm gonna go find the results thread for shoutouts... But hey, you beat Infern? Good stuff, Eric.

my issue is that ROB is a tank & a DPS. I don't think its a very good idea to have two people on the same team playing the same roles. Where is the Kill power? Who's going to carry (with a character that can carry). Where is the speed (needed to make several assists). I'm sorry, I would not entertain this team unless I tried it out 1st in friendlies. A team with MK, G&W, DDD (at least one fo the 3) would destroy double ROB =/) Double Falco is better =/.

If he didn't get out camped it would be a positive matchup for him, so depending on the patience of the Olimar plays a big role in the matchup for ROB
