Maybe, but I think Smash on a home console is preferred anyway, in my thoughts 3DS wouldn't sabotage the Wii U version. I don't see them being released separately.it be a good plan to release the wii u version first to promote more sales from ppl that can not wait to play the game on the 3ds
yoshi release date was only announced 3 months in advance it's coming in marchIf it's launching in the summer, we should get that announcement soon. In the case of Brawl, the North American release date was announced about five months before the intended release, as seen here (unforeseeable delays notwithstanding!). If SSB4's completion is in sight, they should (and would) announce a release date as soon as possible to fuel the hype engines.
But the Wii wasn't doing as bad as the Wii U is, iirc. Nintendo needs sales. It would be better for them to pace themselves on releasing big name games. It promotes advertising.Brawl and Mario Kart Wii were released within a month of each other in North America, and 3 months apart in Japan and Europe. Just sayin'.
It doesn't exactly help, however, if the games take a very long time to develop. It's important to keep in mind that no matter how Nintendo handles the dilemma, there will always be moments where Nintendo's profits are going to take a nosedive. But the Wii wasn't doing as bad as the Wii U is, iirc. Spacing them out is a good idea to keep sales even, aka it was a good idea for the Wii. Right now they just need to get a ton of Wii U sales in immediately, they have little time to space things out before the Wii U sinks too deep. Mario Kart 8 can't carry the console alone either, and most certainly not until holidays. With Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4 the console will suddenly become so much more attractive to own, and people will buy it, even as time goes on those two games will still sell the console. The games can't carry the console single-handedly.But the Wii wasn't doing as bad as the Wii U is, iirc. Nintendo needs sales. If Japan gets it first, I plan on leaking out some info. Sadly, I do not have a Japanese Wii U but my friend does thankfully so hopefully we can get some info out. I do have a Japanese 3DS and will be leaking out info from that. And considering that Japan typically get Smash Bros. first, odds are, anyone outside of Japan will have to stick with Mario Kart 8 for a while longer. Of course, this will leave a lot of North Americans and Europeans highly vulnerable to spoiler topics, which can easily explain why Sakurai isn't keeping everything under wraps.
They're both major games for Nintendo. Some people may prefer one over the other.Mario Kart and SSB aren't even in the same genre, how would they even cannibalize each other?
People who may only be able to afford one at the time of both of their releases. But that doesn't disprove my point. I very much doubt if one prioritized MK over SSB, they'd get the latter if it were released further from the former.
When Brawl came out, Japan typically got every Nintendo game first. That's no longer the case; I expect there to be a small window between Japanese and western release dates. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out in the US & Europe first. Zelda:LBW did.And considering that Japan typically get Smash Bros. first, odds are, anyone outside of Japan will have to stick with Mario Kart 8 for a while longer. Sadly, I don't think Smash was included on that list, it was about Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta, and a few others. I don't even recall Smash being referenced at all now that I think about it. People do have high hopes for the Summer sometime, others claim it'll be a Holiday boomer, but nothing is really clear; we play the waiting game longer I guess.Wasn't there something about several titles being released by the end of summer in their investor conference?
Damn, I hope not.
Apprently it is just a miss translation. It's just another claim that it will: "be out before the year ends" (not "released by the year end"). aka in 2014. Nothing new here.Damn, I hope not.
Wait, is that seriously the release date? Is that confirmed?Q4 2014 sounds like Smash Bros. U will be out when the next Christmas season arrives. This may be one Christmas gift that'll leave anyone feeling impatient.
No. You sure are obsessed with a summer release lol.do you all still think a summer release is possible with that comment
