Did anybody talk to the guy in one of the Lumiose Poke Centers who references Blue? I got a huge kick out of it:

The famous Professor Oak’s grandson came here to the Kalos region to study abroad. He got "Bonjour" down just fine, but he still always said "Smell ya later!" when he left!

I've been tackling the game horrendously undereleveled since the 4th gym. Not the best idea for a Nuzlocke, but I like a challenge and it makes it exciting. To illustrate, upon entering Victory Road, the 1st 'mon I caught (Druddigon) set the bar as my highest level.

My lowest is 47, highest besides Druddigon is 56 now. Just beat my rival, and assuming I have halfway to go, won't even break 60.

Aside from getting things like Lv. 24 Horde Pokemon up to around the rest of my team, I don't grind. Also don't use EXP Share.

I feel compelled to share that I got 4 shinies in one day. 5 shinies in two.

I didn't really realize how ridiculous the Exp. Share was in this game until it was too late. I hardly caught any Pokemon though and my original team was squishy as all get-out, so being over-leveled made very little difference. Snorlax is literally the only thing that saved my ass at the end, and even it had problems. Since I DID have to grind him out though, he wasn't over-leveled.

I never purposely grind, either. I just happen to be so used to grinding post-game that random encounters hardly bother me at all and I just kill everything I run across without thinking. I also make sure I get everything I possibly can when I first enter a route, just because I don't often look at routes again after I first go through them. This often leads to me forgetting where I have and haven't gone or I just straight-out get lost sometimes. :x

I used exp share and never turned it off. EVEN THEN, I was trying to be as efficient as possible and would switch 2-4 pokes for each pokemon just to make them all get 100% exp gained. Result was being 10-15 levels above the game lol. Nice to know that if you don't use exp share the game is hard but at the same time I didn't buy pokemon for a hard 1 player mode.

Exp share is too much

I prefer the challenge, turned it off except in gyms where I'd be unable to spread xp due to type matchups

Yeah, I turned off Exp. Share when I got it because I thought it was going to be more of a hindrance, then heard everybody talked about it and turned it on for a while. But I turned it back off again, it just feels unnatural to me.

Also, I have a question: The Battle Chateau music is a remix of an old track, right? Because it sounds really familiar (it makes me think of 3rd gen) and it's driving me crazy, but I can't think of what it's from.

Alas, part of the formula that so desperately needs changing. We need really good reasons to travel back through routes. For me, a convincing atmosphere will do it, so long as there's gameplay enjoyable enough to explore for the sake of running around. That's what I enjoy most about The Legend of Zelda, the explorative gameplay is fun enough to revisit areas just for the sake of running, climbing, and jumping off cliffs. Pokémon would benefit greatly from a huge revamp to its overworld gameplay.

Of course this is getting into the 3rd person fully-3D sandbox Pokémon game we all dream of. Gamefreak evolves the series very slowly, so maybe by 8th Gen we'll have this. Transitioning into 3D was a big step, so we're on the right track!

It's the Battle Tower music, which actually was first in Crystal version but is definitely the 3rd gen music you're thinking of too.

Without the Exp. Share though, you may have to grind a lot to ensure that your team isn't heavily underleveled upon reaching the next Gym Leader. HeartGold and SoulSilver pretty much proves my point.

The EXP Share in this game is what made the game really easy for me. I overpowered every Gym Leader (except the first one) and even the Champion by ten levels. But hey, at least it eliminates the level grinding. Speaking of the first Gym Leader, that is the hardest fight in the game... but that's because you didn't have the EXP Share.

I need help.

I beat the Elite Four for the first time recently and I went back to Couriway Town. I now have a Gyarados and I am looking for Gyaradosite. However, whenever I go to Couriway Town from 8-9 PM like you are supposed to, the Gyaradosite isn't where it should be / isn't there. Has anyone experienced a problem like this and how can I really get Gyaradosite? Did I miss out on it?

And before anyone asks me, yes. I did check my bag. It's not there.

Did you get the upgraded Mega Ring? I believe you need that before you can get the other mega stones.

The updated Mega Ring...? Where can I get that?
Go to Kiloude City and battle in the Battle Maison a bit, then leave and go north up the stairs to the little pond area. Your rival should be there. Beat her and she'll tell you what to do next. Sycamore gives it to you.

Right! Thank you. It was driving me crazy that I recognized it but couldn't figure out.

Game Freak managed to make me more interested in butterfly collecting in one game than real life did in 23 years. I've been going on a Vivillon hunt for the past 24 hours.

Currently have 13 of the 18 Vivillon forms. Icysnow, Sun, Monsoon, Savannah, and Sandstorm are all I have left to get. Unfortunately, three of those four are the hardest to get because of which regions get them, lol. It doesn't help that I'm not the only one wanting to get all 18 either; a Savannah Vivillon will go up on GTS, and it will be traded over literally 5 seconds later. It's crazy.

Wonder Trade is a waste of time... Bred a bunch of Chespin/Froakie and started trading, but I ended up getting a bunch of crap in return.

I mean seriously if you're gonna be an ass and abuse the system at least give the crap you're handing out Pokerus or something... Greedy ass kids these days SMH.

I bred 155 Snorunts in an attempt to get a couple of competitive caliber Froslasses (I was starting pretty much from scratch on that ****), so I did Wonder Trade for all of them just because I figured it was a better thing to do if only because other people are now getting Snorunt where they might not have before.

I ended up getting a bunch of foreign Pokemon I like (yay Masuda breeding?), a couple that were clearly bred for the sake of competitive play, and a couple with Pokerus.

Also TRG, if you still need a Fennekin, I have a couple foreign ones. :3

I just nabbed a Fennekin off of the GTS with the last Chespin I had.

I'd love you forever if you traded me something with Pokerus though. <3

If you have X I have a few version exclusives I could breed you.

Wonder Trade is great for pokemiles too. I turned all the ones I had gotten from just beating the game (had like maybe 100 trades then) and got 37 rare candies from the Global Link site.

You make me feel bad for not having anything to offer in return. :(

What exactly is the rage about having foreign Pokemon?

On another note I like your avatar JOE! Chesnaught was a beast in my playthrough... Too bad he's most likely going to suck competitively.

The Masuda Method I suppose. You can get more Shinies with this method than by randomly finding one. The best way to get Shinies is by getting a foreign Ditto and breed.

Lol, don't worry about it. I enjoy Super Training as it is, so having a Pokemon with Pokerus hardly means anything to me (especially when I happen to have two),

I know I like having foreign Pokemon if only because it means an increased chance (however small) at a shiny when I sit there and try to breed competitive sets for my favorites. Since I do it just for fun, getting the super special shiny is much more awesome, and I'll raise that instead.

Does pokerus affect super training? I'd assume no since the Macho Brace doesnt.

On a different note, people are getting way too hyped up on poison type in gen 6. It seems like everyone is expecting fairy to be the new Meta despite the fact that outside of maybe 3 fairy pokemon all the others are absolute **** lol.

A wild Pink Reaper appeared. But no I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Circa I'm getting ready to get online after I finish watching this Heat game so if you're reading this I should be able to trade in a few minutes.
